hm i like to make friends with any people really, well any that'll bother to talk to me. or if they seem cool in a way that makes me want to talk to them. there's still plenty of cool people that aren't goth. actually only a few of my friends are goth. i dont really care what they're labled as, as long as they are cool too me.

i have few goth friends...most of my friends come from other counterculture movemnets.....

Goth isn't counterculture. Goth more than anything is actually culture-revival...

Countercultures are characterized by being against society as it exists in the present, such as the hippie counterculture of the 1960's (against materialism and militarism) or the punk counterculture of the 1970's (supporting the working class).

I hardly see why you wouldn't make friends with non-goths.

I've been a member of the goth culture for years, but all of my closest friends are non-goths.

That's how my school is. I find I'm the most gothic person in my school; and you can find me skipping down the hallways singing "if you're happy and you know it clap your hands" and "B.I.N.G.O." and "head and shoulders knees and toes" Or just random stupid songs my friends and I made up in fourth grade.

well,i never hang out with any gothic kids.i just hang out with my friends,and it wouldn't make a difference if the school had no goths or not cause i'd still be hanging around my friends.

I have goth and non-goth friends. One of my closest mates isn't really into music but he's like family.

The vast majority of my friends (including all childhood ones) are non-goth.
I suspect a few of being gothic, but otherwise I usually hang out with the typical teenage set of oddballs.

I don't know any REAL goths (AKA not posers) who only hang out with other goths.

I do hang out with non goths since I am the only gothic kid in the school, well there is this one kid I hang with who has claimed to be gothic, but Im not convinced. About 30% people I hang with are emo. The rest im not sure.

In my school, there is one other girl who I believe is an actual goth, as well as a confused/pouser goth. The confused/poser goth is always trying to get me to hang out with him, but in all honesty, I dislike him. He is very rude, and is even violent at times! As for the other actual goth, I've never spoken to her, she's never spoken to me, and we both just keep to ourselves.


In all honesty, I have no goth friends. My circle of friends is highly diverse, to the point where it is unclassifiable. I have friends who are artists, nerds, lolitas, gamer geeks, anime freaks, misc. spazzes, crossdressers, and lots of other things! I really don't care what subculture (or lack thereof) my friends take part in, just so long as they are nice and interesting people!

Why should we force ourselves to be secluded elitests by only hanging out with 'our own kind' when there are so many amazing people out there who are not gothy at all?
