Casting Rumors for the next movie

Not being very into knowing who's who in hollywood I really don't know who any of these people are but a Kirk who is not Shatner is going to have a hard time filling up those very big shoes. By the way what happened to the rumor that Tom Hanks was going to be in it it was all over the web? Also I'm certain they will cast an Uhura and a Chekov if they are going to make a new original series movie.

Excluding McAvoy and Damon, they chose some really good lookalikes. And they may not have listed Uhura because they haven't found the right actress for her yet. As for Chekov, was he even in the first Season? I thought they added him later on to fill in the spot of a Russian.

I thought this is supposed to be a movie based on the beginning of Kirk and crew? Aren't some of these cast choices (the same one's I have heard as well) a bit old? In fact, if this is the beginning shouldn't they be in their mid 20's (if it's post academy) or early 30's (if it's set just before the first five year mission)? That is the reason why I think ultimately most of the rumors are just that - rumors.

Beyonce could play Uhura. Her facial features are quite similar. And I doubt they would cast a Chekhov, as he was introduced in the second season I think.
