WELCOME TO MY SKETCHBOOK. O:
Here I'll put my art things/WIPs because I have problems with anatomy and such. You know, like everyone else. [:

Pros: Knees, torsos, hair, ideassss, legs-sorta.
Cons: Decent coloring, heads, poses, hands, feet.

So. More cons than pros. Sorrow. :c

Harsh critiques are nice, but please be specific. Don't post something like, "Something's wrong with it" because...something could be anything.
And no crappy smartass remarks. You all know what I mean.

Critiques/Comments/Redlines, they're encouraged. (: Greatly.

Scroll down for the art. :]

Hey there and welcome ^_^
I'm going to give some general advice that I think everyone, no matter their skill level, needs to hear at least once. Take up life drawing. Get into the habit of doing a few every week. Devote a sketch book purely to those observed drawings. It really helps...a lot.

For your faces, keep in mind that the planes of the face are like unever shelves. Forehead slopes down and out, in to the eye, out for the nose, in to the mouth and out slightly for the chin. From the tip of the nose to the chin should be a straight angle. The top lip will stick out further than the bottom.

Your lines and work in general looks fairly confident. And that's very good. Confidence in your work is half the battle. Now just look into structure and do some life drawings and I think you'll go a long way.

Oh, thank you. =o <3

Now if openCanvas 1.1 kept the layers after you close it, then maybe it'd be easier to work on it right now. D< Grrrahhhr. Man, I need a tablet or something.

Life drawing, uh? I guess I could look for articles online, because if I go to the library and get a book on it my mom'll stare at me all weird. o__o;

If you save the picture as a .wpb first, that file retains it's layers, then when you're done you can save as .jpg/.bmp The .wpb file only works in openCanvas 1.1 though, it seems like they changed it to .wpe for the following versions. 3nodding

You can get stock photo books of folk in their underoos if you're not comfortable working with n***s. And I'd recommend going to the park or something and doing quick sketches of the people you see there. And the things...things are fun. ^_^ Anyway, can't wait to see more from you.

Really? That's what I'm do now because the .wpb files don't work on dA for some reason.
I'd check but I don't feel well enough to go check my laptop. x__x I think I'm gonna go back to bed and be sick in a while.

@Eejbeej; Eheheh. n***s. xD I guess I could surf through a few pictures online when my parents aren't around. They'd think I'd be looking at porn or something.

The park? Well. I'll try. But my overprotective parents would be like, "THEYLL RAPE YOU THEYLL RAPE YOU STAY IN HOUSE". I hardly go outside to sketch anymore so I guess I'll sketch my family around the house. :]

To edit your title, just edit your first post. ^_^

I think you could benefit from guide lines, it helps you plan where your poses and proportions. Basically its a proportionate stick man with things like the head, chest, hands and feet broken into simple shapes. You can use more shapes for the arms and legs and such if you prefer to help you flesh things out. Preplanning in an image can help it a lot in the long run.

Keep at it, its a very cute drawing.

It's not working, Eejbeej. Dx

And thanks so much. =) You're always such a big help.
I usually do those for the head, torso, arms and knees and I just use those to help; but only for traditional. I find it to hard to do it with a mouse and a program such as openCanvas. Not the most reliable thing.

Oh yes. New art up. (=

Thats so odd that it isn't working...Ah well

The cat is really cute, just watch those front legs, they seem shorter than the back ones.
There are some proportion issues, her feet are too small and I think her legs may be a bit skinny. Watch the crop on her foot, if you run out of space tape some extra paper on and finish it that way.
Do you draw your figures 'nude' first and then add clothing or do you draw the clothing straight away?

I guess it doesn't like me. D:

Oh really? I thought it'd look kinda weird with the bottom paper taped on. The gap and everything would bother me, but I'll try! =)

Yeah, I start them all out nude even though I start laughing cause it's weird to draw semi-nude people. xD

Ohoh. And you should be proud of me.
I read two books on anatomy. x)

I -am- happy you read some anatomy books ^_^
The one thing I notice consistently through your pictures is the hands and feet are quite small. It's a common thing, just remember that hands and feet generally can cover a face in their length.
Oh, watch cropping at knees, it almost always looks awkward, crop a bit higher or a bit lower if you want to crop on legs.
You always have such cute ideas for your work. Hope to see more.
