I'm new to fitday.com, and half the things on there are measured in cups. Yes, I've checked the kitchen for a measuring cup, and I know we have one, but I can't find it. Anyone wanna tell me approximately how much a cup is? sweatdrop

For me, and it differs for everyone. I measure my 1/2 cup of dry oatmeal with a cupped hand, 2 cupped hand sizes give me a half cup so double that for a cup. The problem with eyeing measurements is that until you actually know what one cup, 1/2 cup, whatever, looks like it is hard to get it right. So definitely find your measuring cups and once you use them a couple times and know what a cup is supposed to look like you can eyeball things more accurately.

I use fitday.com, too, and yes a lot is measured in cups. i think the other people helped you already... do you have a 1/2 cup or something? just pour two of those filled with water into a glass. there ya go. also, i think it is about 8fl oz or just 8oz...
