We all know the video for Helena involves a girl in a black dress and dark makeup doing a ballet/interpratibe dance.
But soon after, in these "darker (?)" bands, or songs with darker themes
I've found that a lot have gothic-styled ballerinas/dancers.
ex:
Call Me When You're Sober - Evanescense
Into the Ocean (or whatever)- Blue October
& others?
Do you think MCR started this?
Or was it around before and I just didn't notice?

I've noticed that too.
I think bands see the success and figure that they should imitate it.
So, I guess they did.

Hmm...that is pretty strange. Also, Stone Sour's video "Looking Through the Glass" is a lot like most of Fall Out Boy's Music Videos...I guess people just liek to play copy cat!

Shura-Pendragon Hmm...that is pretty strange. Also, Stone Sour's video "Looking Through the Glass" is a lot like most of Fall Out Boy's Music Videos...I guess people just liek to play copy cat! One thing I know about Evanescence is that their orginal!
They don't copy anyone or want to copy anyone for that matter.
But I do agree with everything else.
Everything has been done before, so it's not incomprehensible that evanescence has copied someone. Has anyone noticed that there is a rap group on MTV who are now wearing a military styled jacket (though my brother says it looks more like a band jacket) just like MCR? I don't know the name of the group, since I don't listen to rap, but I found it amusing that they were copying MCR.

 It shows that they like ballet. If I ever get to be in a popular band, I'd want ballet dancers in my videos. I'm a ballerina myself and enjoy it very much. And I admire Tracey for that very lovely dance in Helena. Her part in the video was one of the things that got me into MCR in the first place.
