okay, I was reading Rolling Stone, and there was a side column entitled, "Who Hates Emo Most?" just the frickin' title made me mad. Then there were the comments.
Dave Draiman from Disturbed said, "All these p***y-a.ss, makeup-wearing, suit-wearing mama's boys... are a disgrace to rock & roll."
then Maynard James Keenan from Tool said, "The emo s.hit'sjust a backlash to rap rock. It's the same cookie-cutter crap. It's music written by frat d.ouche bags for frat d.ouche bags, to give roof.ies to unsuspecting girls before date r.ape ensues. 'oh, I'm sensitive. I feel. Here, have a roof.ie coolata.'"
Then to find out that at the UK's Reading festival, people threw crap at MCR, and knocked out Panic! At the Disco's lead singer with a bottle!
all the people in those bands, those s.hitty-a.ssed rock dudes in s.hitty-a.ssed rock bands want to contrast themselves to emo bands? they think they're better? they think that the emo/punk bands are cookie-cutter? I have listened to some of those bands, and let me tell you, to me, they are the ones who are pathetic, and all sound the same.
okay, there's my little rant. just had to get that out there.

Candlelight, angel light, firelight and starglow. *loads shotgun* WHERE ARE THOSE PEOPLE?! I'M GONNA KILL 'EM!!!!!
Besides, I think emo songs are supposed to teach others to be better people to their peers. They're actually singing about stuff that's really happening out there and people like who you mentioned don't give a s**t. It's ******** sad.

besides i don't think that tool and disturbed are all that great anyway(but that's me)

Ah, well I haven't seen any emo bands wearing make up like they'd be talking about, but that starts the genra talk and that gets old fast. Let us not go there.
Anyway, that is their opinion. And I don't think it's right to throw stuff at a band because it's a bad thing to do.
(Maynard still kicks a** ninja )

The mere fact that they had to talk s**t about other bands shows their inferiority. I'm so tired of bands trash talking eachother that I've simply stopped listening to the ones that do.

I can't believe that they can get away with this crap! You read Kerrang! magazine (not the best publication admittedly, but...) and they are ALWAYS slagging Disturbed, 'cause they just suck, and cuz Draiman says some stupid a$$ things "I wanna hear you scream so hard, I can feel it in my sex!" WTF?! But they are constantly singing MCR praises. You know that if MCR had a bad show, or released a dodgy item (be it single, or album) they would say it was crap. But Disturbed are slated while MCR ride the good reviews wave. Do I detect some jealousy in the Disturbed camp? Well boys, crying all you want, cause I just don't care. We shouldn't have to take this crap because just like when Towers of London's guitarist flicked a cig at Toro, the metal heads get nasty, and there just shouldn't be any room for that.

I don't see why we even need a "who Hates Emo" article in a magazine. Truly, I think music or entertainment magazines are supposed to help popularize a genre, not make fun of it.
Plus, I hate some metal kids' guts. There's this one at my school, who calls my friend a poser just because he thinks she's "emo". But he goes artound the corner and hangs witrh Scene Girls who think they're emo and posers who listen to crap music. reallly. D:

I personally don't see a problem with the term "emo". Everyone else seems to think it's offensive (even MCR sad ), but it's f*cking opinion. However, at least where I live, it appears I'm one of the few that looks at "emo" in the positive light. I think emo's a compliment, but there's about 50 billion people who'd disagree, so I just keep my mouth shut and leave the subject where it lies. Sure, there's bad/stereotypical associations with the term (cutting, depression, crying, girl jeans, w/e), but who gives a s**t? Emo has a distinctive sound and emotion to me and just because some a*****e on YouTube starts raving against it (i.e., "Stupid emos, go cut yurselves"), I'm not gonna change my own view on it.
It's really only the offensive stereotypes against it and the insults based on it that really tick me off. Just 'cuz somebody's "goth" doesn't mean they, like, worship the devil ( rolleyes ) and just because someone's a nerd or even a geek doesn't mean they aren't allowed to have friends.

It's pointless. Those people are trying to shoot down those bands and steal the people how listen to them over to their band to get quicker sales like the "emo" bands and the press are so desparate they put it in print and hand it out. I say just ignore it and listen to what you want to listen to. I say **** this s**t and it was rude that magazines tell lies about gothic bands to get parents to stop their kids from listening to them. Just do what Bob tells you to do. Don't.Take.Their.S***. Simple as that. But thats just me and I had rap because it talks about having smex with girls.
