Depends- which one do you want to know about?

I think I listed... ummm... what? Five? Six?

Spas is the one I "celebrate" myself in a spiritual context.

Freyfaxi is the one we were speaking of last night on the phone.

I've got one too! I celebrate the "Summer's coming to an end because it's raining a lot more" holiday. I decided it was yesterday. ninja

Hlafmæsse- the Saxon Bread Mass- it's a grain reaping holiday.

Yablochnyi Spas, or Apple Harvest is the harvest holiday I celebrate in a spiritual sense. (I need to make cider... ninja )

Lammas is the Christianized Bread holiday (Loaf-Mass). Often bread was blessed by a priest and fed to the people as communion, and leftovers were given to farm animals for their health in the following year.

Lughnasada- ask Reagun.

Frayfaxi- Frey being the norse god of fertility and prosperity, wheat is used as a representation of his beard and they use bread to symbolize his bounty- usually celebrated by Blot.

Oh yes, mine is rather like that too! *lol* I tend to celebrate harvest when the majority of it happens here, which is later on. And I can't get on board with celebrating the end of summer when it can still get to ninety on a regular basis. whee Mmm, harvest.

Hmm... the American harvest festival is in November... near the end...
Seems so early in the year to have such a festival... but then again, I imagine Northern European growing seasons are quite different from American ones. 3nodding

We had a very warm, dry summer this year (for Ireland... go figure) so when the rains started coming back this week it was brilliant. For me it definately marked an end to the heat and sun that we had through June and July and proves we're moving into Autumn. Thus the 'celebration' of sorts.

And for the potatoes... We only had 6 on the roots when it should've been 8.
Yes, I live in potatocountry....Very importend for my regio. Since the festival it hasn;t stopped raining, by the way... To late, according the farmers I speak to. The crop has been bad.
