by your apperance or what band you listen to

You might not enjoy labels, but they're unavoidable.
(Not to be confused with sterotypes. Which can come in handy if you use them to your advantage)
They arn't that bad either. They're only ways to discribe people.

It's when people use labes as an excuse to be rude to others or if they begin to think things like "Oh, she's a *insert label here* so I can't hang out with her" there is a problem.

What I hate is how some people say they're oppposed to labes and hate being labed, but then proceed to label others.

I believe in labeling to an extent. Only if it has a truth to it, basically.
But emo is the most fake label ever, in my opinion.
I mean... seriously, no one knows what it really means, and that it's not even used anymore (the real meaning).
People that cut their wrists aren't emo, they're either stupid (if they're doing it for attention), or they have a mental problem. Guys that wear chick pants aren't emo, I actually prefer the term "scene". Same with all those new wacky hair cuts and shoes and such... I label it scene.
When my friends say "emo", it pisses me off to no extent.
Oh, and goth is pretty dumb too, becuase no one knows how to use it. Only if it's used properly, do I not mind. Which, is hardly ever.
I hate when I'm called "goth" or "emo", it makes me want to go on a killing spree. If I had to, I'd label myself as "indie" becuase I don't wear just one type of clothing.

I got called goth and emo in one day. And I only go into school for and hour.
