True, but "Ode to Spot" takes the cake!

Felis Cattus, is your taxonomic nomenclature,
an endothermic quadruped carnivorous by nature.

Your visual, olfactory and auditory senses
contribute to your hunting skills, and natural defenses.

I find myself intrigued by your subvocal oscillations,
a singular development of cat communications

that obviates your basic hedonistic predilection
for a rhythmic stroking of your fur, to demonstrate affection.

A tail is quite essential for your acrobatic talents;
you would not be so agile if you lacked its counterbalance.

And when not being utilized to aide in locomotion,
it often serves to illustrate the state of your emotion.

O Spot,
the complex levels of behaviour you display
connote a fairly well-developed cognitive array.

And though you are not sentient,
Spot,
and do not comprehend,
I nonetheless consider you a true and valued friend.

As much as I love the Ode to Spot,
the second line isn't a question.
(It's commonly mis-punctuated online.)
He's stating this.

Further,
I was just thinking about the poem during a slack moment,
and it occurred to me that Spot is an EXOTHERMIC quadruped,
not an ENDOTHERMIC quadruped.

An EXOtherm gives off heat, and feels warm to the touch.
An ENDOtherm absorbs heat, and feels cold to the touch.
Mammals are exothermic.

I concluded that, if this concerned me, I'd be taking my Trek too
seriously. smile

BTW,
I don't have the link handy,
but there's a website with video clips of all Spot's appearances,
and it includes Data reading the Ode at the beginning of "Schisms".

I jacked that sound file from somewhere, and tortured my old college professors by hiding a CD player somewhere in the room and turning it on sometime during lecture. Surprisingly enough, they never could figure out where it was. And by the end of the term, everyone in my class knew "Ode to Spot" by heart, and would quote along with it when I decided to make some more disruption.
And about the errors: I was feeling lazy, so I copied and pasted from some random website. I didn't read over it to make sure it was all to-the-script. I'll go back and edit that out.

What is it about pointed ears...? Somehow that is just plain hot. But so is gold skin. xd

I can't choose. Data has this child like innocence going for him. But Spock is totally hot. Who could possibly choose between them?

Spock is awesome, as much as I love Data, Spock rocks. Besides, what is it about Spock that is so attractive? He's just really hot.... the ears maybe, but also everything else about him. heart heart

Endothermic means you produce your own heat, commonly called warm-blooded. Example, human.

exothermic is a lot like ectothermic, biologically speaking, it means you need to absorb heat from the things around you, commonly called cold-blooded. Example, snake.

Mammals are endothermic. Of course, this way of looking at temperature regulation is a bit black and white.

Spok. It isn't just that was Leonard Nimoy born on March 26 *points to profile.* The ears, the presence, the arrogance tempered with a strong desire to do good but in a logical way, he did too much LDS in the 60s (Mormons?), and he ticked people off. Who did Data tick off? Only girls that got frustrated that he didn't feel anything towards them so they couldn't have a meaningful relationship. Spok ticked people off. And he was a match for the computer at chess. How cool is that? I say it's pretty darn cool.

Then again, Data has a lot going for him. The crazy parentage, the evil identical brother, the humanity despite the lack of being human. He's got a cat, and his lack of humor is comical in that he doesn't understand why it's funny to people, as opposed to Spok who knows why it's funny to others but doesn't agree that it is.

I still think I need to go with Spok, though. He ticks people off daily. That makes it all worth it. I can't say that the humanoid touch outshines a computer, because Data's not just a bundle of technology to me. But that's one of my "Man, that's deep," lines of reasoning. Not that it's very deep.

Who cares if their hot
Data is the greatest Trek character of all time. The only two that even come close to competing with Data are Doctor Leonard "Bones" McCoy and Lieutenant Commander Worf

I really prefer Data.
Maybe it's because I never really watched TOS when I was younger, but Data is just cooler. He has more aspects to him, you see him grow and I just have stronger feelings towards him.

Spock is just there.

That episode was just on Spike.

It's great, 5 hours of Star Trek, which I mostly miss, but lately, they mess up their schedule and they repeat all the episodes I miss instead of their garbage amazing video crap!!
