This was from a local News Station (CBS 5), that of course I was watching last night that really caught my attention, and well...I went to their website and basicly this sums it up completely...

What if you long for a world where not only gay marriage, abortion, and safe-sex education are against the law, but so are taxes, assisted suicide, and pornography?

What could you do? Where would you go?

To the state of South Carolina, says Corey Burnell, who, from the small Central Valley town of Valley Springs, has been relocating families to South Carolina for over a year.

Burnell, 30, and his wife Nicole, 28, started a movement called Christian Exodus out of frustration over California laws that they say are too liberal and against the teachings of Christianity.

Nicole Burnell is outraged by recent efforts to recognize gays and lesbians in California textbooks.

"They're wanting to teach everybody about homosexuality. I'm not," Nicole Burnell said. "Why is when they do it, it's okay, but when I want to do it, it's not okay. I disagree with them. They're wrong."

Christian Exodus believes in getting its way by moving to a conservative state and then running for elected office -- on school boards, city councils, the state legislature -- then changing laws.

They are looking for people who would be willing to fight for prayer in schools, sex education that preaches abstinence, and making sodomy a crime.

"This takes a particular type of individual," said Cory Burnell. "One who really sees the last 30 years of Christian activism has failed."

Christian Exodus has set its sights on six conservative South Carolina counties, places big enough for its followers to find jobs, but small enough places where change can quickly take place.

By 2014, these political pioneers want enough people in key positions to make a dramatic impact on statewide elections.

University of California at Davis religious scholar Allison Coudert applauds Christian Exodus for using the ballot box instead of violence. But she says the movement's rigid codes are troubling.

"There is such a kind of apocalyptic rhetoric that the world is absolutely going to hell, and the only way to save this is by sheltering yourself, building walls around you that really don't encourage any kind of diversity," Coudert said.

Cory Burnell said, "We would allow people of all sorts of ideologies and races. But when you talk about the law and how the law is applied, law is effected to change or correct behavior."

The Burnells' group also wants to reduce or eliminate income and property taxes.

And it's willing to take on the federal government under the 10th Amendment and a state's right to regulate its own activities.

Christian Exodus is not a cult, the Burnells say. The group has no church. Their members pay no tithing.

In fact, these strict conservative beliefs are not new and may be widely held, all of which could make Christian Exodus a force in an increasingly divided America.

All I can tell you is...if this happens I'm honestly gonna be fighting this all the way, probably make a resistance against a religious based goverment. If you want more on this there is a video on the site's website on the homepage http://www.cbs5.com!
Discussion:
Would you really want this to happen?

If I can stone my child to death for disobaying me (Deut.21:18-21), sell my unmarried daughter (Deut. 22:13-21) and kill those who don't believe the same thing's I do (Ex. 22:20; Lev. 24:10-16; Deut.13:1-15; Jos. 23:7) I'm all up for it.

A biblical based government is a horrible idea, the word of god is one of the most violent things ever to come from the minds of men. However, a government based on a religion that has been tailored for government is a good idea. Think about it, every law has a consequence on the other side.

When I was reading that article...I was FUMING!

I love this though. They can freakin' blow me too. XD

I think its 'funny' how Christians preach about life and purity and humanity but they have taken humanity right out of the picture.

I am a lesbian and it really burns my a** that there is so much of an uproar about gaymarriage and the fact that gay couples cant even adopt children.
I think a child would be better off in a liberal, having two mothers home, then to be in a christian house hold.

I think all of us liberals need to just make our own country but then...we wouldnt be any better for isolating our selves. I am tried of being a victim of this s**t I think we just need to stand up. I dont care if Christianity seems like the domiant religion, I gurantee you that there are more of us then of them. And a riled up lesbian like myself is a thousand times more scarier then Satan himself.

So if isolation is out of the question, what about a bonfire?
How about bringing Hell to them earlier, so they can stop making our lives a living hell?

It's called a"Theocracy" and the religious right really shut up when you tell them their ideal paradise is akin to the taliban.

Ha. Reiligous Christians really annoy me sometimes. Yea a biblical based goverment would be an annoyance ot everyone everywhere. So many mis Depictions it's not even funny. Personally, I think that the group will fail and we shall all laugh in their faces.

It might actually be fun to watch their society flourish and crumble within a decade. Why do people believe America has fought so hard for freedom and democracy, whilst they want theocracy to simply take over again.
What I really fail to understand is how people can be Christian and completely disobey their own biblical rules and still believe they aren't damned. If 75% of Americans are in some branch of Christianity, why do things such as promiscuous sex thrive?
