I have about 10 books but if I had to have one it would be one of Scott Cunningham's books.

On Wicca? None. Most of my study of Wicca was done without books.

On my religion? Either Burkerts Greek Religion, the Bacchae, or a copy of the Homeric Hymns. Its tough to choose.

Probably my Scott Cunningham Books, rereading Buckland right now and he's another that I can't seem to put down.

~reflexive string of curses at the mention of Buckland's name... calms down~

On Wicca? Or Eclectic Paganism with Outer Court Wiccan influences?

Considering you can't actually get any books about the Wiccan Mysteries which actually make up the religion, I would say no books at all. Especially since I have no Wiccan leanings whatsoever. If I had to choose any one book it would be... The Golden Bough by Sir James Frazer for the anthropological research. But even then I'd rely more on myself for my personal practises and style.

I don't know that I have a 'one book.' Most of the ones I currently have contain parts that make me cringe. Love primary texts, though. I'd like to find a good annotated copy of the Mabinogion.

Umm? A racist responsible for the decontextualization and rape of an ethnic tradition?

His massive historical revisionism and egotistical prattling?

His bastardization of cultural shamanic traditions?

~ponders~

Naw... not really. mrgreen

My friend owned his big blue book (can't remember the title) when we first started geting interested. I didn't like the way he wrote and barly got 3 pages into it.

Ah... Buckland's big blue book. I think I'm at about page 37 or so. I keep it in the dry box for when I go camping, or on extended hunting and fishing trips. Need a fire?

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiip. I expect by the end of the season, I'll be up to page 150 or so.

Did you know in that book he claims he was the first to brigh witchcraft to America?

May he meet a sticky end in a dark ally with some Sinti, and get bitchslapped by Tituba's ghost in the afterlife.

I have indeed, and they've always been pretty good, but I still prefer a good paper copy, especially since I'm trying to lower my sad internet dependence. But the whole Sacred Texts collection is pretty droolworthy and has covered my rear on some research papers too.
