(✿) History Book ‣ Korikō was born in the year 1184 to Yasuko, an incredibly powerful leopard daiyōkai that dominates her mountain range fiercely, and Minamoto no Yoshitsune, a skilled samurai and warlord. The two met and fell in love as his father was nursed back to health after being found injured and weak. Unlike most hanyō, Korikō's upbringing was a fortunate one as he had the love and protection of both his parents for a time, though he sadly has little to no memory of his father as Yoshitsune met his end only five years into his son's life. However, the stories of his father told by Yasuko ensured he was never truly forgotten and to this day, Korikō holds his father in high regards as both a father and an accomplished warrior, and he cherishes Hyōsuru greatly as it was his father's greatest gift to him.
‣ Growing up, Korikō was mostly spared the prejudice of his kind due to the protection of his mother as few yōkai dared to intrude on her territory and those who did weren't often foolish enough to incite her wrath by attacking her cub. Korikō was raised alongside his older brother, Raijin, a full-blooded daiyōkai not much older than him. As children, they were inseparable and though they now live apart due to the leopard yōkai's solitary nature, they're still close. Korikō will sometimes find himself wandering Raijin's territory; especially in distress, as he's often drawn to escape to the daiyōkai's territory when being chased by a demon he can't handle himself. He's well aware that one of these days, Raijin may start demanding some form of payment for coming to his rescue when he does this.
‣ For the most part, Korikō's life has been an uneventful one. One of the most notable things to happen in his life would be his first encounter with a demon after leaving his mother's territory that resulted in the scar on his neck and cheek; which he is proud of to this day and treats it as a victory trophy. He lives day to day simply searching for where he belongs in the world and doing his best to get by on his own. (✿) How I Feel ‣ For the most part, Korikō is a happy-go-lucky and optimistic person. He prefers to live his life where "every cloud has a silver lining" is the motto. When he's depressed or upset, Korikō makes it a point to look for the brighter side of things. So much so that he no longer feels resentment towards others for their prejudice towards him, instead using it as fuel to prove to them how wrong they are. He's reached a point where things tend to roll off his back and perhaps he's a bit too casual for his own good, but it's worth it if it means he isn't living everyday in anger. However, his "no skin off my back" only applies to him. People can insult him all they want and he won't do anything to retaliate unless physical attacks are thrown. But, he has very little tolerance when the insults and attacks are thrown at others; particularly those that he considers friends. Korikō is as fierce a protector as his mother is and he won't hesitate to defend his loved ones. (✿) I Love You ‣ Yasuko ‣ Raijin ‣ Anyone willing to be his friend (✿) I Can Tell You More ‣ Korikō stands at 6'10" and is asexual panromantic. ‣ Korikō's yōkai feature is his tail, which is slender with smooth fur and a snow leopard pattern. It's about as long as his body, strong and incredibly prehensile, making it a third arm for him in battle when he needs it. It functions the same as any other tail, acting as a balancing assistant. Which is why he can be very protective of it; if he loses it, it can't grow back and he may as well be immobile at that point. ‣ Korikō really doesn't like having his tail touched, but for close friends, he tolerates it. As long as they ask or just don't sneak up on him. ‣ To this day, Korikō is a target for Raijin's brotherly antics and it has become a game of cat and mouse when they see each other as Korikō will often run and make his brother work if he wants a hug. ‣ Though he has a very good relationship with his mother, he hasn't seen her since he left her territory. He left with the intent of only returning when he has found his place to prove to her she doesn't need to worry about him, and he has kept to that promise. However, Korikō knows he is always welcome to return whenever he wants. ‣ Like all hanyō, Korikō has a period of time where he becomes human. For him, this happens only four times a year, once every season, and lasts for three days starting the day after the full moon. Exactly which full moon of the season, however, varies. As a human, Korikō is rather plain-looking with black hair and brown eyes. And, like all hanyō, he hides to protect himself during this vulnerable time. ‣ He would become human in a heartbeat if ever given the choice. Korikō has no resentment towards his demonic heritage and is in fact perfectly happy with what he is. But, if he was ever forced to choose between being a full yōkai or a full human, he wouldn't hesitate to become human. ‣ He absolutely hates wearing clothes that are loose and as such, will rarely ever be seen wearing the standard attire for most in the feudal era. Instead, Korikō wears clothing that Yasuko taught herself, and then him, how to make inspired by the clothes of Raijin's human form. If it's not available, he would sooner be nude, but he also understands it's not always appropriate. ‣ Though he is known to be laid-back and carefree, sometimes inappropriately, Korikō is instinctively weary of daiyōkai. While he won't usually run unless their aura is on par with Yasuko's, he will always keep his distance. Even if approached, it isn't uncommon to see Korikō keep a certain amount of space between him and the daiyōkai. (✿) My Master Is ‣ blue carnal love
