Biography tab • • 》 Ashley began life on the doorsteps to an abandoned manor in Lavender Town, her parents unknown to the local residents. Once left, the resident Ghosts flocked to the intruder on their home. A young infant with hair the color of red. Yet instead of perishing, the child was soon taken in by the Pokemon there against all odds. She was cared for by a large group of Ghost pokemon that infested the home, later learning that she looked eerily similar to one of the old residents of the manor, a child named Ashley. Her old clothing and things were in disrepair, holes eaten away and fabric frayed. Ashley would begin the work of learning how to sew with help from a Ghastly she had grown close to.
During her raising there, she would regularly hug (if she could) the Pokemon there in order to physically come into contact with them. Once they were in her embrace, she could feel their current emotion based off of movements, body warmth, and whatever else a type of pokemon would act when calm, startled or upset. This wasn't foolproof, only really giving her a brief glance at how the Pokemon was acting and potentially why.
After one Halloween when she was 8, she began terrorizing the town residents along with her companions. They played simple pranks and soon would graduate to more and more complex ones, eventually resorting to stealing and such. Ashley was caught and soon torn away from the home and put into temporary care there.
After some pretty intensive grilling and looking into backgrounds, the police at Lavender Town had come up with a somewhat disjointed timeline of the child's life. She had spent about 5 years with the pokemon at the manor, believed to be a native of Kanto. Her image was plastered across flyers and such searching for her parents. Many came to claim her but without any knowledge of them, little could be done. After sessions of therapy and some very serious talking from an Officer there, it was determined that the child be sent away to be properly cared for. A timely intervention by a kind old women that supposedly used to work for the people of manor came in to care for "Ashley". The woman, Patricia, began the lengthy process of helping the child reintegrate. She was home schooled and spent many hours each day relearning what many her age already knew. Ashley was fairly against such things and constantly threw tantrums but would soon give in. Even when she was progressing to a better state, she still felt more comfortable with pokemon than humans. Around the age of 11, Ashley was doing better. Her math and other skills had improved but her communication was still fairly basic, a year behind her age. She kept to herself and normally played together with Dusk. Patricia asked Ashley what she wanted to be when she grew up. A tough question, one Ashley only answered after a day. Her answer was pretty simple: a Pokemon Trainer, to see the world and find her parents. It was simple but enough for her to soon begin the process of enrolling at Ordell.
