For the Stenson family, this meant moving around a lot, depending on where they were going. So far, they've moved to various cities around Kalos and Unova. All of the moving around meant adventures and exploring the areas she was in. Finding new places to hang out with kids in town, or good hide-and-seek spots for when she played with her younger brother, Charlie. Currently, her family is in Mistralton City in Unova, where they have resided for two years. Having moved around so much, Ava never really had a place to call home. Sure, she was born in Laverre City, but she doesn't have a lot of memories of the place, aside from a few people Ava vaguely remembers. Likewise, she also didn't have too many long term friendships. While they were great when they lasted, she's never been able to stick around to keep them for years like some of her peers had. Although she would try to make friends in her new town, it was always hard to keep leaving these people behind. The only constant she had was her younger brother, who she was close to. When her parents realized this, they decided to enroll Ava into Ordell Academy. She would be able to learn about the world of pokemon safely, be able to stay somewhere for a long time, and hopefully make some long lasting friendships as well. It sounded perfect, and Ava was excited about going. She kept her bag packed and was ready to go. However, as trouble stuck the academy, her family was concerned about her safety. They were on the fence about sending her back after seeing the dangers in the districts nearby, but after seeing how much the education had helped her in one year, they decided to take the risk. Ava is ecstatic to be back for another year, and is looking forward to having new adventures with her friends.

The day of the club fair was finally here, and Ava was beyond excited. First and foremost, it fell on Spirit Day: the spookiest day of the year. There was no weird haunted mansion or spooky dance going on, but being able to recruit some new people into the Battle Club sounded like it would be a whole lot of fun. She, Cyril, and the other Battle Club members spent a whole lot of time designing a spooky gym-maze for the first years to go through. With twisting turns and spooks all along the way, the Battle Club maze held an eerie aura if you weren't familiar with it. They started at one end of the room and carefully made their way to the various arena set aside for battles to be done. Along the way, people would battle trainers until they eventually made their way to the vampire gym leader: Ava! This year, Ava would be the "gym leader" at the end, challenging people to 1v1 battles with any of her pokemon. Win or lose, they could definitely join the battle club!
This year, Ava was dressed up as a vampire, complete with fake fangs and a cape. Last year, she had been a Ninjask, which was super fun. "This is going to be so cool!" she said to her pokemon. They all seemed pretty excited; it had been a while since any of them got to battle someone. However, the day was only beginning and Ava had absolutely no clue when someone would try and go through their spooky scary maze. Or, how long it might take them to get to the gym leader! Ava more or less knew the maze by heart (and even if she got a little lost, she could manuever between the fabric walls in order to swiftly exit), but she imagined that some first years could get lost in there forever!
