...into the fire.

"Malloooooo," Mimimi whined loudly outside of Mallok's hive, fire blowing upward in bright bursts. Sitting atop her lusus, she playfully patted at the possum's dirty fur, waiting a moment before starting to yell again. "Mallooooo I'm hungry!!" She said, then giggled with the following flames.

With a shove, she slipped off of her lusus' back and rushed closer to the door. Perhaps, even at her volume, Mallok couldn't hear? Perhaps he was listening to music again while he cooked. Silly Mallo.

She opened the door to the restaurant, probably with more force than was necessary. Giving a look back to her lusus, she shot Trashdad a thumbs up, leaving him outside. Trashdad simply opened his mouth and emitted a shrill cackling sound. Mim playfully waved him away.

With a faint mumble, she walked into the greenblood's restaurant, looking for her friend. She didn't dare raise her voice inside his home, but thankfully she knew where she might be able to find him.

The newest sauteed beefgrub balanced precariously on a saucer. Served in a small husk with a tangy grubsauce, it was sure to delight the clientele. Borkuisinier heaved a content sigh as his pupil whisked the dish out the kitchen’s metal double doors towards its destination. Stepping out, he meandered over to the couple waiting to share the meal. He placed it with the utmost care, making sure the grubsauce didn’t spill.

”Order the ******** up, mademoiselles.”

As he gave his pleasantries, he heard a familiar shout from outside the restaurant.

"Mallooooo I'm hungry!!"

He gave a gracious bow, holding the now empty saucer out as he did. It was always an important part of etiquette to make a polite exit when leaving a conversation abruptly.

”I believe I was the recipient of that shout, so you’ll have to excuse the ******** out o’ me. Enjoy the evening!” Perfect. Walking over to the door, Mallo was about to open the door when it burst open in front of him, his friend standing before him.

”Mim, heard you were hungry or some s**t? Come on back, we’ll see what we can get ya!”

Leading the dirty child through the polished restaurant, he gestured warmly to the guests that he passed. ”Are you in the mood for anything?”

Seeing Mallo, Mim ran up to the troll, jumping and wrapping her arms around him in a tight hug. She chirped a little hello and even booped him on the nose, before pulling back and standing on her own feet again. Gleefully, she waved at the restaurant patrons that stared at her as she walked towards the kitchen, feeling like a celebrity.

At Mallo's question, she simply hummed for a couple of seconds, smoke billowing out from her sniffnode. "Food," She mumbled, hands covering her mouth protectively. She giggled. Really, the young troll didn't care what she ate. It all tasted burnt to her, so eating was less of an event and more of a necessity.

She didn't really understand how Mallo enjoyed food enough to make a living out of it, but she sure was grateful to live next door when Trashdad forgot groceries. Remembering her manners, she bowed her head slightly and muttered, "Pleas and tanks."

The greenblood pushed open the metal double doors once more, setting the saucer down on the nearest surface. He called to his lusus, ”Oh ChefPops, we got a special ********’ guest!”

Borkuisinier trotted around the corner where the ovens were to greet this guest, wiping sweat from his brow with a muscled forearm. He sidled up to the children with his arms outstretched. He knew well that Mimimi was an affectionate troll and was hardly one to deprive such things of the child, etiquette be dashed. He tussled his apprentice’s hair as he gave the girl a gentle hug.

”Seluotetiun mer deer! Luokeeng fur a meel, ire-a ve-a?”

The clown-faced sous chef chuckled.
”That’s exactly it, gotta get some grub down this lady’s protein chute!” He tussled her hair as his lusus released her from his chiseled grasp.

Gesturing for her to follow him over to the stovetop area, he considered what he might feed her. ”What to do, what to do, what in the ******** to do...” He whizzed past various cabinets, pulling things off spice racks and putting them in his apron pocket as he passed by.

”Hmmm.... Protein to give you a s**t-ton of nutrition, yes...I’m thinking something testure based, since taste is of no concern...”

Sidling up to a pot he looked in to check that it was both empty and clean, before picking it up and bringing it over to the sink to fill. Turning on the gas of the stove as he brought the pot up he offered, ”Mim, if you’d like to sing for your supper, you can light the ******** out of that burner for me!”

Mimimi accepted the musclebeast's hug with glee, buzzing with joy. Borkuisinier always gave the best hugs, on account of being so strong. It was no surprise to Mim that his charge gave similarly wonderful hugs. Once put down, the blueblood followed eagerly after Mallok, as if a barkbeast following around a treat.

The greenblood's idea made Mim's face light up with a big smile. With an excited hobble, she moved over to the burner and stood in front of it, racking her brain for a funny word to say. She couldn't decide quickly enough, so she settled for shouting "Ahhh!"

Burner ignited by her breath, Mim stepped back and clapped for herself. It wasn't often that she got to use her power for useful things. It helped her feel important.

Mallok clapped along with the blueblood as she lit the fire.

”Now it’s time to...” He brought the knives up with his hands like a maestro beginning to instruct an orchestra from the pulpit.

”...add some motha ********’ PROTEIN!!!”

He tossed the knives with great force at the meat. They flew, hit their mark with strings taut, and were pulled back in time. Flailing his arms dramatically, the knives swung to and fro, always hitting the mark with amazing force, dancing around and around the child chef. He hummed to himself as he worked. The clangs of metal almost formed a percussive beat as they sliced straight through the meat and hit the cutting board. Finally satisfied, the juggalo reeled the knives in, catching them in each hand.

”That should do it, they are sufficiently cut to s**t.”

He slid the strings from his hands and untied the knives. The string was pocketed as he lifted the cutting board. Checking the pot to see if it had reached a boil yet, he took some wheatrods from the box in his apron pouch and snapped them in half to fit in the pot.

He stopped for a moment, thinking to himself. ”Forgot the ********' butter. Mim, would you mind lighting that next burner while I grab that?” He walked over as he asked, knowing how much she loved helping out. As he swung the door open and grabbed the butter, he asked her aloud, ”So what the ******** did you and your Pops get up to today?”

Mimicing the words of her friend, Mim lit the burner with a loud "********!!" She stepped away from the fire with delight, clapping her little hands. To answer Mallok's question, she started to dig in her jacket pockets, eventually pulling out a handful of little scrap balls to show.

Each of the three was comprised of a number of unique metals, all with coordinating color schemes. One was silver, one copper, and one with a variety of unique colors, iridescent and shimmering. Each had been melted into their rounded shape, with gaps between the unique pieces. Mim made a chirp of joy, showing them off to Mallok. Gingerly, she placed them on a free counter for him to examine.

The young chef made his way past the counter, stopping to admire the metal bits Mim had placed for him to look at. He was used to this ritual, and at this point he knew by her cheer and the different coloration that they’d been scavenging for quite some time, which was Mim’s favorite kind of day. He grinned wide and looked up at her.
”Ah, these are some ********’ quality finds, Mim.”
He tussled her hair with his free hand as he passed her, laying the butter near the meat as he went down to grab a skillet from the drawer under the oven. Placing it on the second burner Mimimi had lit for him, he tossed the butter in, pushing it around the pan with a spatula. As he tossed the meat in he asked,”I might’ve overestimated the portion size. If it comes out big as ******** then I’ll just have to eat with you, would that be alright?”

Mimimi leaned into Mallok's head pat, making a soft, excited hum. At the offer to eat alongside her, she nodded enthusiastically. She loved eating with Mallok! Food always tasted better when shared with her friends. "Pleas!" she asked, more than excited to eat with him.

"Mmmm pretty hungry though..." She said, patting her tummy. A little bit of fire escaped her mouth, but not enough to harm or catch on anything.

”Excellent! We will dine together then!”

The boy smiled as he checked on the wheatrods. He dabbed some spice into the pot before reaching for a ladle in his pocket. Tying a string to the end and middle of the ladle, he began revolving two fingers in small, repetitive stirring motions as he listened for the sizzle of the meats. He was used to listening, having learned to use his NIGHTMARE EYES as little as possible for the betterment of society. The tiny chef tied more strings to his hands idly as he hummed a soft tune to himself, preparing the tricky maneuver of puppeting a spatula.

”Almost ready Mim! If ya wanna help some more, you could go all the ******** the way back to ChefPops and see if he has any of our grubsauce left over!”

He liked having Mim around to cook. The greenblood was confused by the sentiment of “too many cooks,” as in his opinion more hands to help could only add more fun possibilities to the creative process. The meat sizzled as a new side slapped against the skillet, his fingers twirling above it to articulate the spatula with ease.

Mimimi, perhaps, was getting dangerously close to the cooking process then was necessarily safe. She was much too close to the stovetop for other troll's comfort, but she seemed to have no qualms about it. The heat could not stave off her curiosity and hunger.

She was surprisingly attentive at Mallok's request, clapping to indicate that she heard him and understood her task. Leaning backwards, she touched her hands to the floor behind her and did a backwards somersault, albeit clumsy and slow. She struggled to regain her balance, but eventually stood triumphant, and then promptly ran off.

"Pop pop pop!" She rushed over to the lusus and tugged on his apron. "Saws..." she asked, voice low to keep her flames to a smolder.

Borkuisinier was in the process of cooking meals for patrons of the restaurant when the small blueblood walked over. The musclebeast was covered in flour now, apparently tossing in some grand dessert for a large table. Upon noticing her however, he perked his face up and hid his exhausted expression from her.

"Oh, hellu igeen mee-a derleeng! Vhet cuon I hulp yuou vit?"

He smiled at the small puff of smoke that emanated from her mouth as she requested a specific flavoring to be added to a dish. Such a special girl, just like his Mallok. Trotting to the right, he reached to the refrigerator, opening it and grabbing some grubsauce from the shelf on the door. His darling boy was on a grubsauce kick lately, adding it to just about every meal it would apply to (and secretly, some it probably didn't.) He lowered himself as close as he could to her eye level.

"Here-a yuou gu, my leettle-a oune-a. Hefe-a a guod meel nuo, oukey?"

He poked her nose gently with his finger leaving a small circle of flour on her nose before handing her the grubsauce container.

Mimimi didn't understand Borkuinisier in the slightest, but his gentle and loving presence was enough for her to make sense of. He was a silly, fun dad. A lot like Mallo! She wondered if Mallok thought the same of herself and her lusus. Mallok didn't see as much of him, though.

Mimimi giggled at Borkuisinier's poke, wiggling her sniffnode as if it itched. She leaned back, holding the container of grubsauce tight as she tried to contain a sneeze.

She sneezed violently forward, a plume of flame following her. Rubbing her face with her sleeve, she checked to see that Borkuisinier was ok, or at least not on too much fire. Smiling and giggling, she placed the jar of sauce on her head, fitting nearly perfect between her horns.

"Tanks, Borky!" Mimimi cheered, spinning twice in a circle before running back off to Mallok. In front of her favorite green friend, she shook the jar of grubsauce. "Got a saws." She mumbled, but with triumph.

Mallok heard one of Mimimi's patented sneezes before. He grinned, unworried. Borkuisinier had gotten good at dodging them for the most part by now. The meal was just about ready when the blueblood returned, pulling the grubsauce from her horns and shaking it triumphantly.

”Oh ********, thank you ever so much Mim! We're just about ready to eat this s**t.”

The tiny chef stirred the wheatrods some more before pulling one out examining the softness with his hand before eating it. Ready.
He turned to Mim, offering her another wheatrod to see if it's texture was to her satisfaction.

”Mim, would you mind grabbing two plates? You know where they are!”

As he asked, he did a cursory check of the meat. It was coming along nicely, should be fine to take off by now.
