Gog was the club crowded tonight. For some time Mahmud tried to stay behind and help clean up after patrons, but after an hour of this it was obvious that his nerves were far too fried to do so. Once he dropped a glass and broke it from trembling so hard, he quickly cleaned the mess and left the building, ball under his arm. There was no way in hell he could work tonight, not at the Underworld, and he sure hoped Tevini and Cerpin caught onto that fact.
Instead he found himself in a court, a place to “shoot hoops” as all the trolls were calling it. Admittedly, Mahmud only recently took up the habit of playing ball to calm his nerves, but so far it had been working! Doing something physical was just so soothing. While he couldn’t build with all those patrons in the building, Mahmud could go outside and practice his aim.
Smiling a little bit, he bounced on the balls of his feet a bit as he shot the basketball at its net. With a resounding thud, it actually… no wait, it totally bounced off the backboard and missed, rolling back towards his feet. Welp. That’s why he was practicing, right? Sticking his tongue out between his lips in concentration, Mahmud took aim again, in hopes he could make it this time.
Yes, coming out here and playing ball was pretty fun! Allowed him to “get out of his own head” as his friends started referring to his melancholy moments. Yes, there was something soothing about an empty court and a straightforward physical task.

Tours were exhausting. Fortunately, the night air in the desert was mild and dry. Ganyma needed a bit of a break, and next to his allocated temporary hivestem was an open recreational park. He was pretty familiar with the area: after being to Underworld for the Superstar Authority and returning a few times for publicity, he felt comfortable heading outside. He wasn’t Shield, after all - Ganyma had reached a point where he was identified primarily by his mask. To his great fortune, fans were easily forgetful. The paparazzi, however, were not. He looked both ways before exiting his room, adjusting his beanie. He was dressed down - a loose muscle tank, some shorts and sneakers, with his hair pulled into a small messy bun at the nape of his neck. Regardless of how typical this attire was for him, if it wasn’t his wrestling gear he had at least some modicum of anonymity.
He had no game plan for when he arrived at the recreation area - some push-ups, a jog, perhaps. But as soon as he spotted the lone troll on the court, Ganyma smiled. That seemed like a much better idea. He half-jogged to the opposite side of the chain link fence, nearing the opening but keeping his distance in case the troll didn’t want to engage. They looked pretty familiar, but the faces were a blur. Ganyma waved and grinned.
“Hey! Room for one more in a scrimmage?”

It had only been a few moments more before he heard another trolls voice. Of course this came right when he was making yet another shot, causing in a spectacular miss. Wow. What an entrance that made. As the ball rolled to his feet, Mahmud turned to see who came… and was surprised to see that it was not only an adult, but a teal blood at that. A few gears turned in his mind, as he tried to process what to do… but in the end Mahmud bent over, picked up the ball, and passed it to Ganyma.
“You’re gonna freaking clobber me” Mahmud laughed out, a wide grin on his face. “But sure. Just don’t expect me to go easy on you!” Yeah… yeah! Nothing was going to go wrong here! Teal bloods weren’t all bad, and even if this guy was an adult. He seemed friendly enough.
I’m mahmud. he said, all while stretching in place almost comically. Gotta be ready for anything! Something familiar about this guy admittedly , but then again he sort of remembered every person he ran into vaguely. No use stressing!

Ow! Oh man, it may not have been a hard shoulder check, but it certainly was enough to sting... did this guy know who he was? As in, a big wall of ouchies waiting to happen?
Out of instinct, Mahmud's reaction was to push back just as hard, if not harder. "Hey!" Despite how hard he actually launched himself into Ganyma (which is to say, actually pretty damn hard), Mahmud managed to get a hard laugh out as he used that opportunity to steal the ball back. "If we're gonna go hard, I won't go easy!" Stumbling over himself slightly as he tried to regain his balance after that, Mahmud took the opportunity to try and take a shot at the net!
