◆ Pᴇʀsᴏɴᴀʟɪᴛʏ: Hayate is the type that seemingly never appears to take things seriously. Despite his easy going nature, he does have his own opinions on most matters, even the serious ones. He finds little point in arguing about small things and is usually pretty easy to get along with. That is of course if you can get used to his teasing/joking.

Hayate is, or was an only child and lived a pretty easy going lifestyle as a kid. Even with the ever present danger of a Grimm attack, that kind of stuff was for adults to deal with. His focus wasn't on fighting even though it probably should have been. It was during those times that he grew to enjoy writing. He enjoyed the idea that with writing something different could always happen and Grimm didn't need to be a worry anymore. Of course, now we need a turning point to the story where his mind changes on a lot of aspects of his life. Once things got to a point where even Atlas couldn't be saved, that was the point when he lost his parents. They never really pushed him to fight or anything like that, maybe hoping that the state of the world wouldn't become so tumultuous. Needless to say, they perished protecting him as well as others from Grimm. A pretty common thing nowadays it seems. Hayate was sad and even devastated, but perhaps his personality didn't allow him to truly feel it. This part he is still a little fuzzy on, but no matter how he tried, he was never able to cry. The only thing he felt like doing was learning to fight back and not let their sacrifice go to waste. His life from that part has basically all been training and fleeing. A seemingly endless cycle, that was until there was nowhere else left to flee, Mistral, MEIS. Oh, shoot, wrote in third person again, well, looks like this might be the place we all die.
