◆ Pᴇʀsᴏɴᴀʟɪᴛʏ: El has a pretty straightforward way of thinking; however, he can also be a bit mischievous at times. El is a very simple character, almost appearing stupid to some individuals at times. He always has a positive attitude about everything. He can be a bit unorthodox at times. He is very competitive in nature, though he isn't afraid to ask for help when he realizes that he is overwhelmed. He can admit his flaws, though at times his pride causes him to mask his embarrassment and frustration.
◆ Bɪᴏɢʀᴀᴘʜʏ: El Cid was born in the kingdom of Vacuo. He grew up with his family, which consisted of his mother, his father, his brother, and his sister. They lived in the center of Vacuo in the desert, where the weak would die and the strong would live. El's father, Glasgow, was an Instructor at the Shade Academy. His mother, Frigg, is a past Instructor at Shade Academy. His brother and sister are both younger than him.
El and his family would have to move often due to the numerous Grimm attacks. The Shade Academy would have control the attacks until the Grimm began to evolve past their prime. Vacuo was overrun by Grimm, and the people would move often. Many bandit groups would form that would attempt to take protections into their own hands. Some turned into protectors, while others turned into pillagers.
During one of the attacks, Glasgow and Frigg would be forced to protect the city with the other Instructors. El, only being a first year student attempted to defend with his mother and father. His father punched him in the stomach and knocked him out. When he woke up, he was riding on the back of a horse to another settlement along with his brother and sister. He asked those of his settlement what had happened, tears running down his face. The leader explained to him that in instances like that, the Instructors and all capable hunters are to stay behind and defend the people from the Grimm threat. The attacking Grimm were far too powerful to defeat in one sitting. They weren't sure if anyone survived the onslaught.
Years passed, and his parents never returned. Bandits came and kidnapped his brother and sister. He couldn't defend because they were too strong for him. At the time he didn't even know his Semblance and couldn't activate his aura. Now, he wishes to find his brother and sister and desires strength in order to find them. Upon leaving his settlement, the leader praised him for wanting to become stronger in a world full of torment and gave him his first weapon, Agamemnon. Its appearance was a bit weird, but he told him that his father used to wield it. El took Agamemnon and traveled to the emergency academy in Mistral to learn how to take care of this Grimm threat.
