It was finally time to go out. That meant of course leaving his new hive located in Salamire Outpost. After the fight with Kursha, he hadn't wanted to go anymore, or really do much of anything. He'd gotten the worst of the ugly feelings off his chest after he'd vented to Byakko..that didn't make him any more willing to travel. Stryke had remained hulled up in his hive practically night after night unless he truly needed to for patrol reasons, or when asked for.
It was on one of these nights hulled up inside, Stryke realized he had more than just himself to worry about. In fact, the feeling left himself stir crazy, he decided to pack up his bag and head out early one night after his lusus had settled down to moonlight bathe.
Sliding his knapsack over his shoulders he headed down the wooden bridge that lead away towards one of many walkways. Traveling north, he decided to head for the coast line his journal in hand to see about adding to his map project. Tucking his hands in his pockets, Stryke's boots landed with a firm thud on the ground as he left Salamire behind for the now to explore another section of the territory surrounding them. The quicker he finished this, the better for the residents.
Lost in thought, the yellowblood moved along at a decent walking pace, eyes ahead to keep a look out for anything that might come his way. No tingling sense of his psionics seemed to be bothering him,. The association he'd begun to make with the glow of his psionics was reason enough to give the yellowblood confidence to proceed onwards.

Etsali didn't spend as much time in the swamp these days, not now that she felt more comfortable in the knowledge that she didn't have to force herself to bear it anymore than she had to. But she still had the urge to drop by and check on things every now and then, to make sure the friends who now lived here were doing alright, to make sure no one had gone snooping around the treehive that she'd claimed for herself (even if she didn't even keep hardly any treasures in it).
Inevitably, she always got the urge to do a bit of wandering as well when she was there, just to be as sure of her surroundings as possible. She always seemed to run into another rebel when she did, come to think of it, and this time was no different. She heard Stryke before she saw him, of course, and moved as silently to hiding as she could to investigate before interacting. Now that she knew who it was, she couldn't help but smirk. He had no idea he was here, and she very clearly remembered a certain challenge he'd made the last time they'd spoken.
It didn't matter that he'd acted like he hadn't actually wanted her to take him up on it. The opportunity was too good. She tugged a kunai free from her belt, judge the distance, and let the weapon fly.

In Etsali's defense, pocket watches didn't usually tend to be dangerous in any way. So instead of backing away as he reached for the artifact, she leaned in with a little 'ooh', half remembering another watch that had been taken from her once as she admired it. Stryke's heads up didn't come nearly soon enough. There was a flash of light, a yelp, and then immediately after a splash of muddy water. As he checked the time, the thief stared up at the watch from where she'd fallen, trying to make sense of what had just happened.
She tried to climb to her feet, stumbled and slipped back down. With a huff, she glanced back at the yellowblood. "Alright, alright. For now. You better keep an eye out, though. Thieves and challenges and all that." There was another of those sharp grins, and then she waved him off, focusing on trying to get up again.
