Elliot Labelle
SELF-CENTERED SIREN
SELF-CENTERED SIREN
In this world there are two things Elliot Labelle loves, himself and his voice. There are also things he likes, things like attention, affection, all eyes on him. Extreme narcissism cloaks his awkward self-conciousness, convincing himself he's perfect to ease his anxiety. He opens his mouth and sings beautiful songs and presents a lovely facade because he needs to be liked by others to satisfy his own self-worth. First and foremost, he thinks of himself, and presents a "perfect picture" so everyone else will think of him, too.
THE FLAW IN PERFECTION
Controlling, perfectionist parents were the ones to originally mold Elliot into the ideal, somewhat over the top, but otherwise flawless character he is today. Popular in high school and equally prominent while attending college in California, he was never short on friends or significant others and absolutely reveled in the spotlight it brought him. Elliot was perfect, he had to be, even if perfection was technically impossible. It was something his parents demanded. It was the only way he could ever experience their love, but even then they hardly gave it.
Starved, he was starved for affection and clung to his manufactured personality because it was the only way he knew how to please people. No matter how much attention he got, it was never enough, and to this day it still isn't. In an attempt to fill the void in his life, he established numerous superficial relationships, some friendly, some romantic, some physical, but in the end they were all just that—surface level at best. Reaching the real Eli is very difficult.
And let's not forget, when relationships failed, no matter how fake they may have been, it hit Eli hard. Each and every time it killed him. If they don't love the beautiful, perfect creation he presents, how could they possibly love the real him, the part of him he can hardly recall anymore? Just the thought of it all gives him sharp, painful anxiety. Beneath the carefully crafted exterior, Elliot Labelle is hardly as flawless as he'd like everyone to believe.
CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW?
Any room Elliot occupies, regardless of its original properties or structural integrity, will have perfect acoustics. This power only works in actual rooms with walls and a ceiling or areas pre-designed with sound in mind (such as amphitheatres), not in general outdoor areas.
