I HAVE THE ULTIMATE QUESTION!

What is the ultimate question? ►
Why is this B'alam so sad?!Alone.
That was the word that stood out so stark in his mind; the word that echoed in the cavern of his thoughts... the deep, paralyzing darkness that stared out from the center of his dull grey eyes.
He was alone.
He could feel the bleak emptiness of his soul, crying out for it's other half, and he traveled far and wide to find her. Out there... somewhere she was out there and he would find her. His world felt cold, bleak, colorless. Every moment, even while he traveled, was like standing still, suspended in time that seemed to stretch on forever, while at the same time, passing in an endless loop.
Doubts plagued his silence; did she call for him as he for her? Did she seek him as he sought her? Was she waiting for him to find her? Would she know him for who, for what he was, when he stood before her?
His heart felt barren and each day it wondered what it beat for, save to spend another night broken and missing what would make it whole.
Despite the feeling on being incomplete, in his eyes there shines something else; a light in the darkness. Determination. To find the missing piece of him; to complete the Woven tapestry he was made to be.
Calm, Quiet, and generally shy, he is not always sad, and he does not always feel the pain of the separation from his other half.
Sometimes, in the stillness of the evening, the rising mist of the morning, the soundless, slow drift of falling snow, or in the whisper of the pouring rain, he feels a sort of detachment from the world and a neutral power that flows beneath the surface, caught listlessly in the undertow.
