Description Overall: A kirin soquili has a number of traits that distinguish it from other breeds. The first of these is their horn. Like a unicorn's, a kirin’s horn is on the center of the forhead, however, the horn of a kirin may either branch out or take on a sickle shape. A pure kirin will have a bull like tail and many have small scales that run over the top half of their body. Some kirin may also take on a rougher appearance with a jagged horn and spikes, rough fetlocks, sharper hooves and scales on the lower portions of their legs.
Powers:
Their horns are used for pressure-point therapy. They emit a soothing presence that tends to calm soquili in distress or pain. A kirin can also walk on water and snow. Their touch is so light they do not leave hoofprints.
An Elder Kirin can heal with their horn just like a unicorn. An Elder Kirin's soothing presence is incredibly effective and stays with others long after they've left.
Alignment: Kirin are stereotyped to be gentle and peaceful. That being said, they can be any personality or alignment you choose!
Pureblood Requirements:
Cloven hooves (templated for kirin or custom) Either: single blade-like horn/single branching antler on the forehead =OR= A horn/antler in the center of the forehead and two, much smaller, delicate antlers also coming from the forehead [cannot be longer than soquili's muzzle] Leonine tail (templated kirin or custom -- can be longer, must have hair on its tip) Backscales (templated for kirin or custom)

Description Overall: A hippogryph has some defining features that separate it from their fellow soq. Their front legs have claws instead of hooves, and are frequently scaled. They sport a single pair of feathered wings, and posses a hardened beak at the tip of their muzzle. They traditionally sport feathered manes and tails, but finding a mix of feather and hair, or solely hair, is not unusual.
Powers:
Immune to Corpse Powder (ergo they cannot be cursed into shifters!) Immune to Cactus Poisons Capable of eating less than fresh meat, allowing them to scavenge on meat other meat eating soquili might have issues stomaching. Hippogryph soquili possess the power of flight.
An elder is immune to all herbal poisons, not just cacti. An elder can fly faster and stronger than regular hippogryphs. An elder has an even steelier stomach for scavenging. An elder is hardier and can live longer without food or drink, due to their desert origins.
Alignment: Hippogryph's can be any personality or alignment you choose!
Pureblood Requirements:
Full or partial beak Front claws A single set of feathery wings (templated for hippogryph or custom)
Additional Notes: Hippogryphs are naturally able to eat both fruits and meat, though may have a personal preference for one or the other.

Description Overall: Ulun'suti are an unusual and rare sort of soquili. They have large, leather wings capable of giving them flight as well as an optional mane. Pure ulun'suti are often seen with a pair of horns jutting from their head, thick scales covering their body, and a strange, retractable claw that sits on the inside of their legs, just above their cloven hoof. Furthermore, they often have a long, serpentine tail - it isn't unusual to see it covered in spikes or a type of fin. Ulun'suti are often varied in details - some have four horns, others two; some have spikes running down their back and tail, others have fins; some tails end in a spade, fur, or even a sort of club. Some Ulun'suti have stingers that produce a mild numbing agent.
Powers:
Ulun'suti possess the power of flight. Ulun'suti with stingers produce a mild numbing agent when struck by their tail. Pure ulun'suti have two inherited breed powers based on their element; mixes have one. Mixes must have at least one pureblooded parent; for first gen pets that are not mock offspring of a pureblooded 'suti, the pet must have visible 'suti traits.
An elder ulun'suti who is without an element may gain one of the listed elements by the spirits. An elder ulun'suti may gain a single additional power of the player's choice so long as its based on their assigned element. Should the elder ulun'suti possess either of their elemental powers, they can use them longer for less energy than their standard kin.

Description Overall: Angeni are often considered angelic soquili, and their name means "spirit angel.” They possess two pairs of wings instead of one like winds. They have smaller pairs of wings behind their ears and on their back ankles as well. Their fetlocks grow naturally longer than the average soquili, and they have hair manes and tails. On rare occasion, an angeni possess unicorn traits -- the horn and the tail -- but they are still considered pure.
Powers:
General Angeni Powers Angeni possess the power of flight. Angeni and those that descend/possess angeni traits have a power called "holy light" -- it can be used offensively to attack or defensively to protect against and sense evil in the heart of certain types of creatures (though can still be caught off guard if not actively trying to/not paying attention/are distracted). It is stronger in pures than it is in angeni with diluted or mixed blood. Uniangeni possess the power of healing like their unicorn counterparts. Angeni are immune to corpse powder and cannot be cursed. If they possess angeni traits, even if they are of mixed blood, the curse will not work. Angeni have the ability to bless a soquili with temporary heightened speed or strength -- or bless the lands to better grow crops and renew local growth. It is stronger in pure angeni than those with diluted or mixed blood. Objects containing part of them (hair, feathers, even blood) can hold onto blessings of light as defensive charms against evil hearted Kalona and from Shifters, but need recharging after a season and burn out quickly when in use. Update When a gemstone containing their blood is blessed with holy light, it is capable of fusing to a Shifter.
Pure Angeni Powers 1st Gen, pure angeni (or Pure angeni with Unicorn Traits) can be granted a domain over an element, theme, or idea. Domains CAN be repeated -- There can be two angeni with the same domain at the same time. Domained angeni must be good and their powers must also be used for good -- if they become evil or do wicked deeds their domain can and will be revoked from being RP-able in the shop until they redeem themselves earnestly. 1st generation, domained angeni have the power to shape-shift into a Kawani native. They still speak and understand soquili while in human form, and must study and learn the Kawani or other native human tongues if they wish to speak and understand it. Even if they become more fluent in Kawani, they cannot teach it to other soquili -- it simply does not translate well.
An elder angeni's powers become stronger and last longer -- their holy light becomes more effective, and their blessings last longer. An elder angeni can fly higher and for longer than their non-elder kin. An elder angeni who is pure but has no domain can be granted one upon elderhood An elder uniangeni can heal for longer and more effectively than their non-elder counterparts. An elder domained angeni gains an additional power -- if the owner wishes.
Alignment: Domained angeni MUST be good. If they deviate from being good then their domain can and will be stripped. Non-Domained angeni may be any personality type.
Pureblood Requirements:
Rounded or cloven hooves (templated for angeni or custom) Two sets of feathery birdlike wings (templated for angeni or custom) Hair mane and tail Uni-angeni may have a single spiral unicorn horn and/or a unicorn tail (both templated for unicorn or custom)
Requirements for Domain All pureblood requirements must be met. They must be 1st Gen - - - >(2nd+ Gen must obtain elderhood and be pureblood in lineage)
Additional Notes: Angeni are not gods, despite many soquili thinking them to be so. Domained angeni work for the spirits, and only possess a small amount of powers. Furthermore, pure 1st gen, domained angeni have the option of coming from the heavens -- a type of spirit realm. It is only when they come to the Kawni that they take soquili form. Like pure shifters come from the Cursed Tree, these angeni have the option of originating in the heavens. A person cannot RP in this realm but it can be used in ones history or spring boarded for plot and RP. This is a realm only pure blooded angeni know about, so mixed- or half-breed angeni, or 2nd gen would never be able to access such a place.
Angeni cannot breed with uncharmed Shifters. Domained, pure, mixes, any showing angeni traits. Just as they cannot be cursed with corpse powder, they cannot breed with Shifters. Charmed Shifters are exempt, and may breed with Angeni freely.

Shifters - Pure Shifter, Cursed Shifter & Charmed Shifter
Description Overall: A shifter is distinguished by the animal pelt it wears upon its back. This pelt covers their head, part of their face and runs all the way down to the tail. A shifter's pelt may never be removed as it is part of them: pure shifters are born with pelts, and cursed soquili will take the pelt of the first animal they kill. The dark magic of the curse will cause the pelt to attach to the soq, similar to that of the pure shifter. Pure shifters are typically born with paws or claws that match the animal they turn into while a cursed shifters typically has hooves. Cursed shifters will lose any breed powers or abilities once they take the corpse powder. So a cursed unicorn may have a horn, but they cannot heal, or a flutter cannot shrink. Instead they gain the powers listed below.
Powers:
Shifters will all eat meat, no matter their previous diet. They cannot sustain on anything else. Shifters may shift into an animal. This animal matches the pelt they wear. Shifters gain enhancements from their animal form. So one who wears the pelt of a wolf might heightened hearing or smelling, while one with the pelt of a hawk or owl might have heightened vision and hearing.
An elder shifter shifts faster into their animal form. An elder's animal form tends to be larger and fiercer than their regular shifter kin. An elder shifter gains bonuses to their speed and stamina, as well as their heightened animal abilities.
Alignment: Shifters may be categorised anywhere between neutral & evil. They may form bonds with their children or even a mate - whatever their reasoning behind it. If you wish your shifter to shift more towards "good" on the alignment, consider charming them!
Angeni Charms, a gemstone with the willingly given blood and blessing of light from an Angeni, has made it possible for shifters, Cursed or Pure, to be of Any Alignment and capable of forming social bonds, having wishes granted by The Wishing Star, and even lifemating, allowing them to be the purest of saints to being the evilest of evil, a member of a closely knit pack to a loner, Kind to Cruel. They still have the shapeshifting powers of a shiter and are still obligate carnivores requiring a meat-rich diet, and cursed shifters do NOT regain the powers of their biological species -- they are still 100% shifters, but more flexible in what sort of individuals they can be.
Pureblood Requirements for Cursed & Pure:
A pelt covering most of the body (either templated or custom). It should match the feral form in type and color. A feral form. Pure shifters must have paws or clawed feet which mach the feral form.
Additional Rules & Restrictions WARNING Please be aware of these finite rules concerning the species. Failure to adhere to them will result in staff intervention.
Shifters ARE solitary by nature, though OCCASIONALLY work together for short periods of time for a common goal. Shifters ARE anywhere on the spectrum between neutral and evil. Shifters CANNOT breed with Angeni -- pure, domained, or any type that shows angeni traits! Here are a few additional notes concerning cursedshifters.
1.) For pre-existing soquili who end up with corpse powder: you may continue to play them as themselves until you are ready to officially change them into a shifter. Meaning that any plots, RP, lifemating, relationships, etc may continue until you do one of the above mentioned points. You must not put the new form in your teepee or RP them as cursed.
2.) Once you officially curse them - meaning they go into your teepee with the pelt, and/or you have RPed them as cursed -- Backdated RP or not, you will not be able to enter wishing stars or mating raffles with their pre-cursed form. Essentially, once you go cursed, you can't go back or treat raffles/events as anything but a cursed-shifters. You may backdate RP with their peltless form or pre-cursed form, but that's it.
Additional Notes: The dark shaman Oyahusa is the only one that can curse a soquili into a shifter. He is the only one who can make the corpse powder, but it is possible that a crafty shifter or evil soquili might be able to steal some.
Pureshifters are thought to have come from the Demon Tree in the Indian Burial Ground. Like Angeni, while this dark otherworld might be mentioned but it cannot be RPed in or re-entered. Kalona are thought also to originate from the same demonic realm, released by the god Kalona before Oyahusa helped release the Pureshifters.
Cursedshifters will only throw non-cursed children, regardless if they mate with another shifter or not.
Pureshifters will only throw-pure children if they mate with another pureshifter. Pureshifter foals cannot turn into their feral form until they are an adult, even though they have a pelt.
There may be highly rare exceptions, but it is a minor shot that is rolled for, and should not be counted on or expected when breeding.
