He'd been late for class again. It wasn't that he meant to, honestly. It was just that things were different here. Faster paced, everything louder and brighter than from back at home. Not to mention warmer.
Harper's head fell back as the Selkie yawned, a large one again that revealed small canine teeth. Then he blinked, and rubbed his eyes with the back of the large, clawed gloves that he wore. The soft skin felt good against his cheek, and he longingly considered heading down to the pond on campus grounds and taking a quick nap.
Naps were good.
Booted feet tapped quietly against the floor as he headed towards the outside, intending to do just that. Then he stopped, studied the hallway that led instead to the cafeteria.
Fish sticks were good, too.
Considering his options, Harper leaned back thoughtfully on his long, blubbery seal tail. He bounced off of it once, twice, rocking back on his heels before the tail pushed him back onto his feet. The rocking motion was comforting. Black and gray eyes fell to half-mast, then closed...
And unfortunately for him, his frost aura, the very ability that kept him cool in this warmer clime, slicked the floor beneath him in his consideration and lack of thought. The tail caught him again, and then lost its grip on the wet floor.
Harper's eyes shot open as he went down hard to the floor, then slid on his rear a short ways before colliding with someone's legs.
"OW!"

"S-Sorry..."
Harper remained where he was, flat on his back with his legs propped up by his tail. "Um..." Reclining was a comfortable position, but he wasn't sleepy anymore - at least not for the moment. Instead, he found himself rather embarrassed, and the selkie wiggled a little, trying to find purchase for his boots on the floor around his tail without kicking the girl he'd bumped into.
Man, no wonder they didn't like him around here.
He finally manged to get himself to a sitting position, his blubbery tail out flat behind him, before he got to his feet and stepped back a few steps from the purple girl. "Um...h-hi."
And then, of all rude things, a large yawn caught him unawares, leaving his black eyes teared up and a bright red blush on his cheeks under disheveled blonde hair.

"Y-yeah, I am." Talking to girls made Harper nervous. Okay, really talking to most people mad him nervous. Ghouls always giggled at him and boils usually sized him up like they weren't sure if they wanted to befriend him or beat him up. It was all very confusing, really. So, the selkie usually tended to hang out in his room, with his books - which were shielded from his frost, thanks to another boil - or out in the pond, floating around on his large blubbery tail.
"You...are from around here?" Idle talk, small conversation. Honestly, Harper wasn't a completely awkward little chap, he just tended to yawn in the middle of conversations. A lot.
