Professor Elm is a rather young but intelligent and knowledgable pokemon professor. Though he is prone to Totodile bites and third degree Cyndaquil burns, this bright, bashful, and bubbly professor's smile is infectious. He is sure to start you off on your journey feeling excited and ready to take on every challenge that comes your way. The three starter pokemon he offers are the grass type, Chikorita, the fire type, Cyndaquil, and the water type, Totodile. Choose your new partner wisely, and if you find it hard to pick, don't worry too much; you'll meet many pokemon on your journey to add to your team. You might even see one of these fellows again, because rumor has it all of the professors have a constant hankering for chocolate, so if you bring Professor Elm a RageCandyBar, he'll offer you another one of his starters!
Post here once and quote a crew member when your Trainer License (Character Profile) is in order, and once your profile has been approved, someone will NPC and interact with you as Professor Elm, making sure your get your starter, Pokedex, an infinite amount of Pokeballs and potions to start your character off. All starters obtained at the pokemon lab are level 5 with normal coloration. Remember to keep all of your Items and Pokemon information (attacks, level, HP, EXP, etc) somewhere in your posts.
Professor Elm's lab exits to New Bark Town, so when you are done here, you may leave and step out into the big wide pokemon world.
Jun stepped into the pokemon lab, hand on the sword at his belt. He was aware of the oddness of its presence, but at the moment his attention was on sweeping his gaze over the lab's interior. He greeted an assistant, "Hello. My companion and I are here to meet with the Professor. Would you take us to him?" he asked.
Takumi waltzed into the pokemon lab behind Jun, showing absolute squat care for his surroundings. "Oi Jun, service in here's kind of slow, isn't it?" he deliberately commented, half-lidded eyes staring straight at the assistant. He'd come up behind Jun, and now leaned so close to him that it was a miracle he didn't fall over. "You sure you don't want one of these?" he asked languidly, waving a ragecandybar back and forth in front of the swordsman's face.

Ohmygosh they both like naps. BFFLs <3 Also, is it okay if Jun's ragecandybar came from Takumi sneaking one into his pocket? Since Jun doesn't like them I thought it'd make sense lol

Professor Elm was working on some new research when he heard the doors open in his lab. Not once. But twice. With a curious look to his associates, he went to the sink to clean off his hands. He washed them thoroughly before he went to the front to greet the guests. Noticing both males, one who had a sword on his belt and the other who was waving around a Ragecandybar. He put on a smile before stepping further towards the two young men. "What can I do for you boys? Here for a pokemon?" He asked with a chipper spring in his step along with the same chipper sound to his voice.
The look that shadowed the swordsman's face was one akin to the look of someone who has just caught a whiff a particularly smelly fart and is trying desperately to pretend they aren't dying on the inside. This look was, of course, because Takumi was being a rude little s**t. "These things tend to go better if you keep your mouth shut," he replied to the blonde, taking a tasteful step away from the near full-body contact. "Don't get fingerprints on my coat," he said by way of answering Takumi's question about the ragecandybar. Translation?: Put that thing back where it came from, or so help me.
Jun turned his attention to the Professor, allowing a smile to grace his face. It was the fake smile he had practiced as a child, the one that fooled the Kohail family that had taken him in and, later, his Team Rocket superiors. You see, he had to practice a genuine smile, because he did not know how to make one from the heart. "Hello professor, well met. I am Jun We-st," he realized he should keep his identity a secret, perhaps, and so edited his last name without skipping a beat. "This is my companion, Baka Ko," he said, with a completely straight face. "Oh, sorry, I meant Taka Ko."
Jun nodded his assent. "We're both here for pokemon. You have a Totodile?" he asked, eyes glancing past the professor towards the back of the lab as if he could see what he was looking for. Now that introductions were out of the way he was a bit more brusque with his demeanor.
Rather than get discourage by Jun's reaction, Takumi smirked. He could tell when the boy was annoyed, even after all these years. "Okay, Jun, whatever you say," he answered in his most suspiciously innocent voice as he withdrew the candybar. He'd already slipped one of the things -nice and heated by the sun outside- into Jun's coat pocket.
Takumi paid as little attention as possible to the Professor and Jun, not very interested in anything not involving the words "let me give you your pokemon without giving a long and boring speech about how boring I am". "Oi Jun, don't confuse him by pretending to be polite," he drawled, still not bothering to address the Professor. "I wanted a Cyndaquil." He raised the ragecandybar into the air. "And you'll give me an extra pokemon for this, right?" he asked, finally deigning to look Elm in the eye.

Professor Elm raised an eyebrow at the mess-up that was very painfully obvious as being on purpose. But they were straight and to the point as per usual. He chuckled as they gave their choices. "Straight and to the point. I rather like the different pace. Alright, Totodile and Cyndaquil." He said clapping his hands together once. He walked away a few steps to a table where he grabbed two pokeballs and brought them back. Along the way he grabbed two boxes. "Ah and I have to make sure you are prepared. I've got some pokeballs and potions for you both, along with a pokedex!" He said rather cheerful. When Takumi brought the professors attention to the Ragecandybar, his eye brows rose and he gleefully agreed. "Ah yes! Of course, I nearly forgot! I'll trade your candy bar for any of the three starters I have here. Cyndaquil, Totodile, and Chikorita. Do you know which you want?" He asked as he handed each male their respective box and the pokeball with their chosen partner. Jun Received: Infinite Pokeballs Infinite Potions Pokedex
Thank Arceus, this professor wasn't nearly as stuffy as Jun had imagined professors to be. He found himself actually liking the guy as he shuffled off to grab various items. Amazing, how the professors were willing to part with so much for them. He took the box, sorting through it while Takumi did his usual blustering about.
Potions...balls...Huh. He wasn't exactly sure what to think of the pokedex. He'd been doing fine without it for a long time, so he put it in his pack along with the other items. "Thanks," he nodded to the professor, his new Totodile clipped onto his belt along with his three other pokeballs. He decided to leave and wait outside for Takumi if the kid didn't follow him at once.
Sorry for the wait! I had to finish up exams this week. I wanted to get an Oshawott or Treecko for Jun's extra, so I'll just have him leave, and you can post outside first so we can head out.
Takumi frowned and opened his mouth as if he'd tasted something bad. "Your jokes could use work old man." He was also bothered by the man's cheer despite Takumi's best efforts to be unpleasant.
Jun started to leave. Suddenly the inside of the lab seemed impossibly boring. "I've suddenly lost my appetite." He pocketed the candy bar, not really caring about the ill-fiting idiom. "Thanks, I guess." At the very least, he'd gotten some free stuff out of it. For some reason, the rich boy took great pleasure out of free things, as if he were somehow gaming the system. He turned and hurried after Jun; without looking like he was hurrying, of course.

Ai Higashi
Ai Higashi walked into Professor Elm's lab in New Bark Town. Ai had grown up in the Johto, yet she had never visited New Bark Town until today. Ai had grew up in her hometown of Cherrygrove City, where she spent most of her days fishing with her grandfather before he passed away.
Ai wanted to make her grandfather proud, so she decided to come out to become a Pokemon master. Well, she would try at the very least. She missed her grandfather, and would honour him by choosing a water type Pokemon as her first. Ai and her grandfather had spent much of their time on the water. From swimming to fishing to just sitting on a boat talking, water is an important part of Ai's life.
Upon inspecting the building she was in, she noticed that there was no one around.
"Strange." Ai thought to herself, and looked around. Then she was a container surrounded in glass. She went up to it, and saw three Pokeballs sitting there. Ai's eye's widened and she murmured to herself.
"So cool..." She put her hand up to the glass. "I wonder if Totodile is in here..." Young Higashi wondered aloud. Suddenly, Ai heard somebody behind her. She looked around her shoulder to see a man in a white coat behind her.
Elm had been doing some studies on pokemon eggs when he heard new footsteps entering the lab. He looked about the lab, seeing them, and gave a rather soft spoken greeting that got lost in the spacious lab. The scrawny professor ended up coming up behind the new comer as they inspected the pokeballs behind the glass. It seemed to be a young girl with brown hair and a tan complexion. Must be a new trainer. Then, seeming to wonder out loud, the girl pondered whether there was a totodile in the case. "Ahem Well, we sure can get you a Totodile if that's the starter you choose. Really great choice, too. Though they have a tendency to like to bite all kinds of things, they really make great companions." Professor Elm cleared his throat, speaking up more clearly this time. He smiled sheepishly at the girl, waiting for a response.

Ai looked at the man in the coat, and her confused facial expression turned into a smile as the man spoke to her. Ai's eyes widened to match the excitement of her smile, and she nodded toward him when he finished speaking.
"Totodile please!" Ai told him. She quickly added. "Ohh yeah. I'm Ai Higashi, nice to finally meet you professor."
Ai then followed the man, ready to get her first Pokemon.
Professor pushed his glasses up his nose as the girl announced that she wanted a totodile, and introduced herself. Such a sweet girl. It was too bad not all of the trainers that came by were like this. "Great! It's nice to meet you, Ai. Totodile is really a great choice. Compared to the other starters, it's first evolution happens later, but the final evolution happens earlier than it would for Cyndaquil's and Chikorita's final evolution. That aside, I find that most of them can be quite energetic! I had one totodile at a time that really gave me an impression of a pet growlithe.... Ah, sorry, I'm rambling..." Elm prattled on, then got a bit embarrassed as he led the way to the back of the lab. He then quietly got around to getting out a totodile in it's ball from a secure box in the back, then got together a bundle of pokeballs, potions and a pokedex before turning back to Ai. "Here you are. One Totodile. And your very own pokedex! It can tell you pretty much anything you need to know about a pokemon! It can even tell you what moves your pokemon can use. It's quite a nifty device. Oh, and some pokeballs and potions to help you along the way." The professor smiled, handing Ai her new belongings.

Ai took the items and placed them neatly into her backpack. "Thanks, Professor!" Ai told the kind man. She then ran out the door, ready to begin her new journey.
Kaito hurried inside of the Professor's Laboratory in New Bark Town, closing the door behind him as he had just come fresh off his training exams. While he was on the road to becoming a trainer, he hoped that he could somehow take a turn and do some breeding work instead. Or maybe something else would interest him in his travels. Like how all these professors came along and got pretty well known. With so many choices, Kaito wondered just what he would end up doing by the end of his youthful days, managing to focus back on what he came here for in the first place. "Professor?" He called out for the excitable and pleasant man that always seemed to be around. He walked in further before coming across three unlabeled pokeballs on a table. His curiosity getting the better of them, the young aspiring trainer wandered over to the table and gawked over the three capsules. "Huh. Wonder if these are the three you choose."
