Hey everyone and welcome to this week's ATG, now on TUESDAYS! There's a lot going on with Gaia right now so let's dive on in!

Guild Stuff:
-Revolution: Gaia is HIRING again! Check out This Sticky for details!

-If you were going to participate in certain movements we coordinate, what would they be?
A walkout or protest?
The arenas?
Moar letters?
A forum takeover?
A dressup day/week?
Let us know! We haven't seen much participation in our attempts recently and I want to get that number up. We need to show the rest of the community how passionate we are!

-Have you checked out the shops here in the guild lately? Pwnder, myself, and others are offering items at low prices just for you!

Gaia Stuff
Did you check out ATS last night? It seems like a few of the more serious questions were answered, though with spinny brush-off answers.

How are you liking the event so far? It's pretty buggy and some features of it are mucho annoying but I've sorta enjoyed it I guess?
Anything I missed? Let me know!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There are so many things that you can do as a member to get your voice out even if you are not a thread maker.

-Dress your avi and submit a statement to the Avatar Arenas. Heck! Write something or draw something! People will see it.
-Use that Aquarium Message in a Bottle to tell other Gaians about something important
-Tips and up-votes can really help those who are trying to make a valid point.
-Make your statement in your signature for everyone to see, why not? everyone else is doing it, take a look see.
-Sign those petitions! They are waiting for enough members to just say "hey, I sign'

Even the little things that we do as Gaians, to support each other, will bring more voices to the forefront of the Gaia staff.
Its a whole community effort.

To answer your first question, I'm going trick or treating at the mall with my baby girlBIG GIRL. xd (she spazzes if I call her my baby.)
And we're both going to be minnie mouse, which she wanted to be and I decided to copy her... She has no idea. Teehee. whee

Ask the stuff was actually pretty productive.
I'm surprised I got noticed...at all.

But as someone in SF said, there is NO timeline on the these things.

When are these features coming out?
It's like all the other bs they promised us and never delivered.

its a curse

Some things they get told they can't reveal and others are probably the damned if you do damned if you don't thing. If you give a time line but something happens and it's extended people think you lied, and if you give none at all people wonder about that too. My guess is the staff members don't know every detail of everything done. Tasks are logically divided up. So while they know something is being worked on that answering person may not know how far along the person working on it is. Or it's something that can't be started until something else is done so they don't know how long it might take. And of course something unforeseen could always happen. Like there's some coding problems going on with BG updates right now. So while it looks like they aren't fulfilling what they said, in actuality they can only do so much. That's just an example, I know you're talking about past stuff.

I agree on time lines being nice though, and that Gaia should post something from someone who knows those answers.

The event is ok. I wish there was more NPC interaction and maybe a sort of boss battle thing where you don't have to get kills.

I have to say, any kind of answer or acknowledgement is better than none. At least they are answering those questions instead of "what color food did you eat for lunch?" Those are the past ATAs that we hated. Now we are NOT being ignored, or at least it doesn't feel like it anymore. If they don't have an answer or a fix for something, I'm totally fine with them telling us so. If they told us the new inventory arranger was going to be scrapped, so be it. At least we know where it stands in development, same for any other feature here on Gaia.
Given though a simple -shrug- is kind of rude-ish, I would much prefer a professional response like "I can't answer that and/or I'll find someone who might be able to". Or a simple -NDA- not -shrug-. sweatdrop

The event started very buggy indeed. I could not get two heals in without dying. At one point I used a health potion, and I still instantly died by the time I tried to heal someone. So as it stands with the subforums, I'm seeing a more even number of Angels and Demons with 0 HP. The boss battles aren't worth my time, however.

In any case, this week's AtS has certainly brought up some interesting questions. I saw a lot of them were relating to possibly new features we could get for the site, but they're all essentially 'put under consideration'. I also saw the possibility for a 'Rebuild Halloweentown' kickstarter. Say what you will about kickstarters, but at the very least this kickstarter makes sense to me because raising money to rebuild what is essentially Jack's hometown? I'd say that's worth it story-wise. It's not entirely random like Ivan's sleep deprivation woes.

I don't know if you guys saw this post from AtS, but I think it might be worth commenting on.

On a side note, doing a small Halloween party for my friends. May include some horror gaming. We're going to try out the Halloween event in Animal Crossing together. ^_^

Separately, was the shrug just your opinion or because someone actually did that?

Well, besides the Halloween event and AtS thread this week, I suppose I do have a few questions. First of all, why is the manga arc that goes along with the Halloween event this year only a few pages long? Second, will there be a gold shop update for winter this year? I've noticed there aren't a lot of choices with long gloves in colors, including dresses in H & R Wesley these days. Sure hope we get some high quality winter formal outfits in the gold shops this year! To be honest, I still wish Global Imports had an update to include more Japanese clothing or something. Sure would be great. Sorry if I'm rambling. ^_^*

I missed out on AtS again this week because Mondays at work are crazy, and I was totally braindead anyway. sweatdrop

I've read through a lot of the questions and replies, and I'm so grateful that Gaia staff and admin are not ignoring us completely now. That gives me hope, though I'm not happy about the *shrug* thing. Gosh!!

I found a guild of interest, by the way, that archives all of the replies for AtS. I hope it's okay that I post an another guild here, but it looks like a pretty good R:G resource/affiliate source.

AskED the Staff: Answer Archive Guild

On another note with the link that Chas Loyal posted, I'm happy to see such an honest answer from Angelishia. I don't like GGs at all, but the bottom line is that members are buying them en masse, and as much as I hate to say it, that helps fund the site that we have all come to love. JMHO....

The only reason they can't get rid of gold gens is because they have created an environment that has a use for them. It is of course all part of the plan. rolleyes

It would be like taking an addicting substance away from a user at this point emotion_facepalm

Thanks heart

That pretty much sums it up though.

Even the tiered rewards spending generates that dopamine sensation to even non gold gen users.

Spend $50 to reach the top tier, ,all new items (only the new ones, some are simply re-releases) "will not be sold again" They are unique and that is special, but you have to choose wisely.

Each tier has it's own rewards and they are all just as enticing. Not to mention the fact that the Cash sale is always going on so you don't even have to spend $50, just $37.50 to get (what Gaia prices @) $50 worth of cash shop items, on top of the rewards.

Then they discount items in the Cash shop randomly, so if you catch it at a great time you are going to get an F-ton of items from the reward tiers and the discounted cash and items, jeeze! It really is hard to pass up. It's like going into the super discounted clothing store with only $100, getting like 70% off of everything and walking out with a full new wardrobe!! That s**t can get addicting xp

Still the fact remains that all of this is just PIXELS! We aren't getting anything tangible with our money other than gas tanks running on E for most of the week and partially paid bills that keep catching up with us.

A lot of people are missing the little trick to their spending tiers too, and it really is a smart play so I applaud them for it. Each tier is an even increment of 10's and 5's, but when have you seen anything in the CS for an even 10 or 5 amount? Never! That is why you can purchase $20 GC and spend 1999gc on an item, but you still have that 1gc left to get your reward! so what do you do? if you are lucky you have a couple extra GC left over and you just go to the gold shop and buy the cheapest crap item for GC instead of gold OR, you have to buy another increment of GC in the payments page. Or do a quick free Gaia cash offer wink
They are totally getting what they want out of this.

Even if you set a budget for yourself and you reach just one tier, the next one is sooo close and the GC is on sale, so it's hard to resist not spending a couple of more bucks. Like I said before, it really is a smart play. To bad they couldn't think of this before they decided that gold gens were the best option. Too bad they couldn't just keep MCs the LQI's or just create a higher priced MC along with the typical Thank You Letters.

They just done everything bass ackwards and screwed it up to a point that they can't go back from emotion_facepalm

I completely agree on all counts! The GC sales are good, but when you combine that along with "never to be released again" items (some of them VERY nice) in the spending reward tiers AND a nice sale in the cash shop, it's pretty hard to pass up.

I mean seriously? Mini Angel Wings; Angelic Sash; Golden Laurels; Angelic Pendant; Angelic Anklets; Angelic Bracelet; Mini Astra Angel Wings for $31.99??? Discounted from 39.99, of course. Which is around $25 real cash (due to the cash sale) AND some sweet tier rewards for buying something that many members wanted anyway? Yeah. Pretty hard to pass up.

But you're right: It's all just pixels, but I suppose that it's up to the individual whether or not to spend that twenty-five bucks. Though I'm sure there are many, many, MANY individuals that spend a lot more than that. One look at the tier items in the MP will clue anybody into that real fast.

In addition, there are items like the Mystery Ticket that was available for one day for $899. Yeah. 899 bucks! Yet, someone bought it and then listed/listed/listed/relisted for anywhere between 250T to 350T until their listing was finally gone. I'm sure they accepted a trade for no less than 200T from somebody (whom was most certainly a GC buyer) and they profited greatly. Depending on one's definition of profitting, I suppose.

I would be in divorce court if I spent $899 for pixels. Yet, at least one person did....
