Yoliliztli is the name for a completed spirit. Every B'alam is born with only half a spirit. For females, the spirit is known as Nantlil. For males, the spirit is known as Tahtll. The B'alam reproduce though this sacred union of the two halves created by Milintica, the Grand Weaver. When a Nantil and a Tahtll bind their souls together, it creates a whole being known within the realm as Yoliztli. This whole spirit binds the two together as one and opens up a spiritual link to the Grand Weaver.
When the couple decides to begin a family, the two carve out small totems and pray over them. Milintica is drawn to these prayers through the newly established link to him and may choose to bless the family by breathing life into some or all of the totems carved.
The idols are re-shaped into living beings and brought to life while the parents sleep.

Before breeding, you and the owner of your B'alam's spirit-bound partner must post in this thread. Only spirit-bound pairs can breed, no exceptions. Every breeder will check the master list of spirit-bound pairs before accepting any and all breedings.
► One owner posts the form below, filling out the form completely. You MUST provide the B'alam's image and a link to each member's owner's list so we can confirm ownership.
► The second owner must quote the form posted by the first owner with the words "I agree" in order to complete the contract. From this point on, the B'alam are spirit-bound.
► You may post two of your own B'alam in the form. You do not have to quote your own post. One form for B'alam by the same owner is fine.
► Breaking a spirit-bound pair is a serious thing. You must post the "broken spirit" form provided below and a short, civil, explanation of why this break-up is necessary. The second owner must quote the post to confirm before the pair is taken from the list. If in the event that your partner has left gaia or refuses to quote you, PM the staff and we will review the situation and may bypass the confirmation from your partner. We understand if there is a falling out or a partner goes AWOL. We do not want to see this being abused, so there are some fall backs:
xxx→ Both B'alam involved in the break-up will be unable to breed again for 6 months.
xxx→ Both B'alam's spirits will be damaged so their litter rolls are reduced by 2. This means that a normal pair will be able to produce 2-4 offspring instead of 2-6. This will last for 6 months following the infertility spell.
► You cannot break a spirit-bound pair between your own two B'alam. If you wish to contest this (ie- you have a -very- good reason for this), you can PM the mule for staff consideration.
► If a B'alam dies, their spirit-bound partner is able to take a new spirit-bound with only half the penalty. Their spirit is broken, so they will be unable to breed for 3 months and their litter size will be reduced by 2 for 3 months following the sterile spell. Post the "Moving on" form below and have your partner quote you to confirm. If you own both B'alam you do not need to quote yourself.
