The Grand Weaver
Captain

The Water Tribe is the most spiritual of the B'alam. Their head Magi see the Grand Weaver's work in everything and seek to both learn his ways and gain his favor by following them. They see purpose, a deeper meaning, and an irreplaceable value in every life. The founding colony, Mirro te Weavia, will be setting the founding mentality for the tribe.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

OOC ||
The judging for the Featured Characters will be pretty strict. These characters play extremely important roles within the tribe and will be founding family lines of tradesmen for the Water Tribe. We want them to be roleplayed, and often. These characters are going to assist in building the culture of the tribe. Their offspring will carry on their legacy, and in a few generations their names will be remembered and spoken of with reverence.

Judging will be based on the following qualities ||
xxx Knowledge of the setting!
xxxxxx→ Study: Shop Front Page
xxxxxx→ Study: The Beginner's Guide
xxxxxx→ Study: Mirro te Weavia culture foundation.
xxxxxx→ Study: Water Tribe Guild
We will be looking for knowledge of the shop's setting, knowledge of the Water Tribe itself, and how you use the cultural foundation and 'ideal direction' of the tribe to your advantage within the prompt.

xxx Conformity to the founding culture!
These B'alam will awaken around the Magus of the Tribe. There are no references for them at the moment as the staff opted to sacrifice their getting official artwork for their magus for opening the shop up in the final summer month. If you want to make references to one of the Magus, currently the only named Magus is Still Water, played by Thalion.*

These B'alam would be educated directly by the Magus. Both Magus are highly spiritual and critical of anything that could be seen as diverging from the will of the Weaver. This means we don't really want to see any revolutionaries in the first FC's. These FC's are setting the standard for this culture's mentality. They were woven into being as ignorant as newborns, personally educated by Magus who were personally enlightened by the Grand Weaver, and mentored by their leaders until they were confident enough to begin teaching others. Revolutionaries or divergent thinkers right now would be...too soon. This is the Genesis of the world.

xxx Creativity!
We want to know what your B'alam is all about. What is their personality, their future aspirations, what they want in a soul-bound partner, why they chose their craft, how they go about it, etc. We'll score extra points for real thought and heart. If you research how they do their trades and express that through the prompt, if you really put a lot of thought into the character, and if you convince us that this is a character you will build on and roleplay we'll take your entry more seriously than if you're just trying to get something pretty for your sig. Remember- these are very important characters!

xxx In-Thread Activity and Behavior!
Whatever happened outside of B'alam is your business. We'll be taking a look at in-thread behavior, frequency, etc. as 'tie breakers' between favored entries. Sometimes we can't pick between plots, character ideas, etc. You guys have so much creativity and heart that we needed a system of tie-breaking. This is our way of letting you know that activity and good behavior are rewarded. Even though these award tiny points to the final score of every entry, it can be the difference between a close win and a close lose. Again, we -want- these characters to be active. They are essential characters.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Enter only if...
→ you are willing to be active and roleplay.
→ you are willing to roleplay and be active with the tribe owners: Thalion & Tahja Estes.
→ you are willing to roleplay with other tribe members. These FC's will be trusted with the young minds of their tribe-siblings.
→ you are willing to play according to the rules and standards of the shop AND tribe.

Do NOT enter if...
→ you just want something pretty for your sig.
→ you intend to have your character break tradition. These are part of the founding culture. Defiance should roll out a little later down the line, not right at the starting line.
→ you want to give these to a friend.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Event Details ||

xxxStarts || 8.10.2014 |[ Noon ]| PST
xxxEnds || 8.16.2014 |[ Noon ]| PST
xxxFee || None

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Rules ||

xxx→ You may edit entries up to the cut off date.
xxx→ Do not copy the entries of anyone. If two entries are too similar, we will disqualify the one that came second.
xxx→ You can enter for more than one but you can only win one. The staff will choose which entry they like best, you cannot set a preference.
xxx→ We reserve the right to extend the contest if need be or to add rules if there are any problems that arise.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Magus

Still Water ||
Still Water is a patient, curious, insightful, and almost naive soul. He is absolutely devoted to the Grand Weaver and his ways. Of the two Magus, he is the one who will be leading the first nomads across the landscape to follow the rivers, streams, and the stormclouds. As time rolls on, he will favor following the storms themselves and will establish a group of travelers to follow the storms at his side. He's a gentle, soft sort. Slow to anger, quick to forgive, he's an all around nice guy. If anything bad can really be said about him, it's that he's a little too trusting. This may lead to trouble later on.

His sworn-brother, the other Magus (who is currently nameless), will be the larger, stronger of the two. He will protect the capital with lake-minded B'alam.

Water Tribe Termology

▬▬▬ River-Minded ||
B'alam who seek the nomadic lifestyle and seek out rivers, streams, or storms to follow.
▬▬▬ Lake-Minded ||
B'alam who wish to remain in one place. There is no taboo against this. Not all waters flow!
▬▬▬ Storm-Minded ||
These B'alam are undecided. They change with the tides, uncertain of themselves and their place.

New Perk!

Update 8.13.2014
To encourage a strong lineage from these trade founders (because I'm a dork and I love seeing 'proud' lineages form!), I will offer free breeding slots for these four with only 3 rp's as payment! So spirit-bound + 3 rp's (should be easy!) = Free breedings from Thalion!

The Scribe ||
The Water Tribe will be the father of the B'alam written language. They value stories, history, accounts, and records. They seek wisdom above all things and eventually, they wish to gather as much knowledge about the realm, the nature of B'alam, life forms, and the Grand Weaver himself within their capital city. Ideally, the Water Tribe will house the greatest of libraries, the chief school of historians and story-writers, and become the realm's capital of wisdom. This girl will be the very first B'alam to put words to symbols.

Gifted with a sharp mind for language and organization, this lady is charged with inventing a way to capture the spoken word and preserving it for future generations.

This character is the most important of the Water Tribe FC's so her judging will be extremely strict. She will invent not just the first written language- but one for the 'common use' and one for the Water Tribe exclusively.

Beware! The form is a small test of sorts. There may be trick questions that you will need to answer correctly if your entry is to count. Read the form carefully, take your time filling it out.

Side Notes ||
→ She carries paper, ink, and quills with her at all times. The Magus ensures that the crafters see her well-equipped for her position.
→ She uses her telepathy to write, read, and manage her parchments.
→ She will be teaching other B'alam how to read and write.
→ She will be working very closely with the Magus and, ironically, she will be teaching them their own written language.
→ Eventually, she will be in charge of the School of Wisdom. Again, this is a very important character.
→ It's very likely that she will be given the authority to choose her successor. (Final approval will be through the Tribe Owners!)
→ Her official title in the Tribe will be "Arch Scribe". She will be the final authority on the written word.
→ IF the player of this character becomes inactive, the shop can make IC assumptions that she named a successor and we reserve the right to strip this rank away and hand it to a new FC.

The Brave ||
While the Water Tribe values wisdom and tries to avoid violence, they do understand the value of strength as well. This boy is going to be the captain of the guard essentially. He will serve under the Magus of the Still Watchers. Essentially, he is the military leader. He will train under the Magus to learn the lay of the land and develop a training regiment to build the strongest military force he can. As the tribe develops, he will train guards and soldiers to protect the Tribe both around the capital and along the traveling routes. He will be the father of the military, the composer of the tribe's fighting style, and hopefully when he grows to Magus, he will learn how to use his magic to defend his Tribe.

Beware! The form is a small test of sorts. There may be trick questions that you will need to answer correctly if your entry is to count. Read the form carefully, take your time filling it out.

Side Notes ||
→ This boy has a long neck ruff that he braids back so it does not obstruct his training or combat sparring.
→ He will be Lake-minded. This means he will live within the capital without the desire to travel with the flowing waters.
→ He will be the military leader. If a plot rolls around where the Water Tribe is under threat, he will play a major role.
→ He will be working very closely with the Magus, especially the high Still Keeper.
→ Eventually, he will be in charge of the Water Tribe Army. This guy is essentially a general.
→ It's very likely that he will be given the authority to choose his successor. (Final approval will be through the Tribe Owners!)
→ His official title in the Tribe will be "General".
→ IF the player of this character becomes inactive, the shop can make IC assumptions that he named a successor and we reserve the right to strip this rank away and hand it to a new FC.
He has just opened his eyes. The smell and sound of water is all around him. Another stands nearby, strong and confident with eyes filled with an unworldly sense of knowing. Drawn to this individual, the B'alam follows him deeper into the heart of the tribe's territory. His paws learn the terrain, his mind is filled with the knowledge of the Magus, and his heart begins to swell with a sense of purpose. Side by side, the awakened B'alam and the Magus bound up the slippery rocks, swim through the lake, and learn the limits of their own bodies.

Once he was assured of the prowess of the brave, the Magus charged the male with teaching the tribe how to defend themselves. He was instructed to create the code for the warriors to live by, to train those who would uphold this code, and to punish those who betrayed the tribe.

The Tanner ||
The Water Tribe's major export will be crafted goods. Finely woven cloths, treated leathers, shimmering beads, and beautiful jewelry. Crafting involves two main parties- the crafter and the supplier. The tanner is in charge of obtaining and treating furs and leathers. He will be the one who much of the Tribe trusts the pelt of their departed prey beasts to. He will be expected to honor the spirit of the dead as he works with their skin. Pelts, leather, straps, and tools for the trade are all his forte. While he may not have the most glamorous job in the world, he is essential to the Water Tribe's trade.

He will be working very closely with the lead crafter. She will tell him what she needs, he will be sure to provide. While he's something of the shadow of the craft, the Tribe itself will hold him in high regard. While final rites are prayed over the body of the fallen, it's the Tanner that works with the skin. In a way, he is a weaver of his own right.

Beware! The form is a small test of sorts. There may be trick questions that you will need to answer correctly if your entry is to count. Read the form carefully, take your time filling it out.

Side Notes ||
→ He uses his telepathy to work leather, mend pelts, and refine the skins into their final product. He uses telepathy to control the tools of his trade.
→ He will be teaching other B'alam how to work furs and hides.
→ He will be working very closely with the Magus and the lead crafter.
→ Eventually, he and the crafter will be in charge of the Water Tribe's trading. They will trade pelts for fine metals, gems, and other commodities, but they ensure quality of trade and of product.
→ It's very likely that he will be given the authority to choose his successor. (Final approval will be through the Tribe Owners!)
→ His official title in the Tribe will be "Chief Tanner".
→ IF the player of this character becomes inactive, the shop can make IC assumptions that he named a successor and we reserve the right to strip this rank away and hand it to a new FC.
He woke alone and confused. For a time, he sat simply observing the world around him, unsure what to do or where to go. Another B'alam approached from the twilight, carrying a limp animal in his maw. The Magus, as he came to be known as, fed the newly woven B'alam and explained that in order for them to live one more day, another had to return to the Grand Weaver. The dead animal's flesh fed the body of the B'alam and the spirit departed, free from pain. Much remained of the animal however. Bones, teeth, fur, and claws all remained, unable to be digested by the B'alam. The Magus explained that to waste was to disrespect the sacrifice made by the animal and it ran the risk of angering the departed spirit.

Slowly, the Magus taught the newly awakened B'alam how to hunt, how to separate fur from meat, and how to use every bit of the kill. As the young B'alam improved, the Magus saw potential. Soon, the Magus approached the young B'alam with a task- to honor all the fallen with his craft. He was given the task to give new life to the dead, to teach the Tribe how to do the same, and to ensure that the value of the remains of the dead were honored in trade and craft.

The Craft Weaver||
Working closely with the Tanner, the Craft Weaver refines the crude materials into fine goods for decoration and trade. Woven fabrics, pelts, beads, jewelry, and other finely crafted goods are her forte. She will be the face of the Water Tribe's trade and the head of the Merchant's ring. She will dictate the flow of trade and teach her tribe how to craft and trade. Ore from here, metal from there, crystals, scales, and bits of bone- it's all currency to her. She takes these rough ingredients and works them into fine goods for trade.

This lady will be working very closely with the Tanner and the Magus themselves. She will also need to work with merchants and representatives of other tribes to obtain the raw materials to craft.

Beware! The form is a small test of sorts. There may be trick questions that you will need to answer correctly if your entry is to count. Read the form carefully, take your time filling it out.

Side Notes ||
→ She decorates herself with her crafts, showcasing her talents. While the art will not express this, she changes her attire often to showcase the most recent of crafts she has created.
→ She uses her telepathy to weave, craft, and sew. She uses her abilities to use the tools of her trade.
→ She will be teaching other B'alam how to trade and craft.
→ She will be working very closely with the Magus and Tanner.
→ Eventually, she and the tanner will be in charge of the Water Tribe's trading. They will trade pelts for fine metals, gems, and other commodities, but they ensure quality of trade and of product.
→ It's very likely that she will be given the authority to choose her successor. (Final approval will be through the Tribe Owners!)
→ Her official title in the Tribe will be "Craft Weaver".
→ IF the player of this character becomes inactive, the shop can make IC assumptions that she named a successor and we reserve the right to strip this rank away and hand it to a new FC.
She has just woken up in the body of an adult but with a mind as fresh and new as an infant. Another body lays at a respectful distance. She turns to see a Magus, a male, quietly weaving blades of grass. She watches in awe and slowly inches over to observe this art. Intrigued, she attempts to follow suite. Her first attempt was sloppy but endearing. The magus smiles warmly and stands, gesturing for her to follow. Hours became days, days became weeks, weeks became months. Blades of grass became threads of leather. Metal, fur, fabric, and beads soon replaced the simpler things. Small braids soon became elaborate necklaces and shining bracelets. Pelts cloaked backs and rings shone from the paws of her tribe mates. Soon her passion became an opportunity.

Her mentor pulled her aside and laid a new task at her paws. She was to teach the others as he had taught her. She was to reach out past their borders and find new things to work into beautiful crafts and in turn, exchange those crafts for more supplies. A delicate task- but one her capable mind was suited well for.

The Quiz♦♦♦

xxxWhy do Water Tribe B'alam have globes? To store water. This water may be drunk or used for magus spells.
xxxCan this B'alam have an abusive background? Why or why not? No. There’s no one to have been abusive to her. She woke up next to the magus, and she’s only known four people so far (in-character). Besides, no character can have an abusive past unless there are pets to be the abusers. There are no NPCs.
xxxWho is "The Grand Weaver"? Milintica, the divine being who created this world and the B’alam who live in it. He is revered by Water Tribe as the Creator and the one from whom all stories flow.
xxxWho are the Water Tribe's enemies? They don’t have any! Water Tribe is respectful and curious about other tribes’ traditions.

◘═══════◘

About the B'alam ♦♦♦

xxxWhat's her name? Susule (soo-SOO-lay)
xxxxxxMeaning? Just a word I made up, meant to invoke the lapping of lake waves on the shore.
xxxPersonality ||
Quiet and thoughtful, but not shy as some might assume. She will prefer words to action, and believe strongly in the power of words. She will try to see everyone’s point of view and, more importantly, understand it. Unfortunately, she will have a tendency to get nervous and worry, and could easily get out of her comfort zone. Just as water flows into every crevice, she is also a very curious B’alam, though she would prefer to be an armchair traveler. This may lead to some inner conflict at some point as she simultaneously tries to live vicariously through the Storm Walkers and worries about them getting into danger.
xxxWho are her parents? MILINTICA [Shot] She doesn’t have any. Literal first generation.
xxxWhat is her mindset within the Tribe? Lake-minded, definitely. While she will occasionally travel to other places (various colonies, perhaps other kingdoms), she will suffer from near-constant homesickness when she is away from Mirro te Weavia. This homesickness will lessen when she visits Water colonies, but her home is the Capital, and it will never be anywhere else, no matter what happens to that city. She will consider the magi to be like brothers/sisters to her; when the Storm Walkers are away, she will fret and worry about them, especially Stillwater.
xxxWhat kind of plots would you like for her?
She will be interested in visiting each tribe in turn—even Wind Tribe—to construct for them their own alphabet, according to their unique needs and philosophy. This will prove a challenge, but she will see it as her duty, and persevere no matter the difficulties.
xxxWhat will she look for in a soul-mate?
Someone well-educated, someone refined and soft-spoken. Someone who reminds her of the lake and of home, and who can comfort her when she gets fretful. She will face some difficulty in taking a mate by the fact that she considers all of Water Tribe to be her family, and struggles to imagine any one of them as a potential mate. She may worry that it is expected of her to take a mate, in which case, she may spend a long time dating, looking for the right one.
xxxHow does she come up with the language?
By closing her eyes and facing the lake for a long time. She will consider the movement of water and the movement of the body as each sound is made; the resulting letters will be elegant and sweeping, curled like ocean waves or smooth like ice. Stillwater’s name
xxxIf she becomes a Magus, what spell will she learn first? Water charmer. She could use it to carve out spaces for the palace and library. It would take a long time, but things worth doing are worth the wait.

Tell her story ♦♦♦
|[ Prompt ]|
She has just woken up, she is as ignorant as a newborn infant. She has instincts, thoughts, dreams, and curiosities. She is a complete being, a sharp mind in the body of an adult. Another stands near by, watching with a gentle set of eyes and a knowing smile. He speaks softly, beckoning her to follow him. Over the course of a few months this female sits by this male's side, listening to his soft teachings and absorbing what she can like a sponge. He shows her the land, turns her eyes to the heavens, opens her ears to the sound of a flowing creek, and opens her mind to learning. Eventually, her mentor tells her that she is to be the one to gather the words spoken and shepherd them into the future. He trusts her to do this task, he believes she is the one to do it.

What are these months like? Give us an example of a self-roleplay. Tell us how this experience goes. Tell us what she thought during this time of instruction, how she felt about it, what she observed for herself, how she took her role from her mentor, and how she progressed in accomplishing the task.

Show us who this B'alam is. Give us a taste of what we can expect from you in taking this role on. We want to believe this B'alam's story, her dreams, her personality, her spirit. There's no word limit.

At the time, she had no words to describe it; there could be no words to describe it, not so soon awoken. But there were two sensations as she lay there, two sensations she felt before all others. The first was a trickling, as of water, on the inside of her. Not her body. But…herself. The other…a sound. A sloshing sound, except, no. “Sloshing,” that word…it…lacked the right connotation. Sloshing. No. Lapping. Lapping, like a tongue, perhaps, only…it was water. Water. That was her first sensation. Water. Trickling, lapping, flowing down her limbs and into her head, coming from that wellspring in her heart. She became aware of herself. Of the shape of her, outside and in her heart. And then she opened her eyes to let the light flow into them. It was like a dam had been burst, too bright, too much light against her eyes… But when she’d wiped the light away, when she had blinked that first time, the light was not so terrible, and her eyes adjusted to its feel until it could feel the strangeness no more.

He stood in front of her, and she knew peace. This one here, he was…water. That same trickling, but this time, a gentle eddy that told her all she needed to know. He was…family. And he was here to give her the third-greatest gift in all her life—the gift of knowledge. She felt her face move into a smile, and felt her legs lift her off of the ground. His voice lapped at her ears like the waves of the lake, and she followed him.

She always did. She always would.

The moon above pulled the water, and thus it pulled the world. It pulled, also, time itself, another form of water. And she who now called herself Susule after that first sound, walked by his side. He showed her the heavens, and she saw a vast ocean. The stars swam through it like shoals of silver-sided fish. The planets soared around and around as whales on migration. She wondered if they, like this earth and whales themselves, had moons like calves to pull their time around. She asked Stillwater. And though, for once, he could not say for certain, she was happy to discuss the possibilities. He showed her, too, how the images in the stars could be used as landmarks for travel. An uncomfortable revelation—fish did not stay in place for long, unless they were…well, they didn’t stay in place for long. And the sad fact that neither did the stars themselves left Susule on a hilltop night after night, watching the stars. Not for their movements. Not for the drawings they made. But for the heralding of impermanence. For time itself.

The moon pulled time along. It changed, too, but with that, it brought comfort. However starved the moon became, it always returned. The time she brought along with her did not. The months passed and Susule and Stillwater met other B’alam, others who felt the pull of water in their hearts. And Susule took comfort in their presence. But after the moon had pulled herself through several cycles of her ever-changing shape, Stillwater took Susule aside, alone.

And there, he gave her a duty. Her eyes opened wide, impossibly so, and she drank in the full import of his words. “Stillwater, I…this task. I am honored that you think I am worthy, that I have the ability to take it on, but this task… To express ideas, to express all of this—” She waved her tail at the surroundings, to take in all of the world—lake, mountains, waterfalls, ocean, rivers, streams, canals, creeks, stars, moon, sky. “To express it all in simplicity. Would that not water down its meaning?”

But of course, that word wasn’t appropriate, either. How could adding water to a thing make it lesser, to diminish its spirit and its meaning? He gently assured her that if any B’alam was suited to this task, it was her. He had confidence in her. The lake in Susule’s heart was warmed by his words, and as the sun rose on the world’s mirror, she gazed at the water with her eyes closed.

Slowly she grasped a willow wand with her mind. And began to Write.

The Quiz♦♦♦

xxxWhy do Water Tribe B'alam have globes? To carry water around in. Water may be consumed or used in magic.
xxxCan this B'alam have an abusive background? Why or why not? Absolutely not! No B’alam can unless there is a pet around in this shop to have been abusive to them. In this boy’s case, a) there is no such B’alam, and b) he’s only known four people (the magus and the other FCs).
xxxWho is "The Grand Weaver"? The Creator of this world and the B’alam. From him all stories are woven and flow, like water; from him come children and adults alike.
xxxWho are the Water Tribe's enemies? They have none. Water Tribe is respectful of all Tribes and curious about their cultures.

◘═══════◘

About the B'alam ♦♦♦

xxxWhat's his name? Canguro
xxxxxxMeaning? Spanish for “Kangaroo.” I was unable to find a translation into a Native American language for “kangaroo rat.” They’re small mammals that often spend their entire lives without taking a single drink of water. It seemed appropriate for his confusion when he first woke up.
xxxPersonality ||
This might take a bit of a novel to explain, but here goes. Canguro would be a loner, for several reasons. For one thing, he woke up alone and confused, and as such, he would still feel lonely and confused sometimes. He would feel distanced from other water B’alam, even as he wants to be one with them. For another thing, as explained in more detail below, he…wouldn’t smell good. Sure, whenever he visited the city, he’d take a good, hard bath, probably with soaps and perfumes, but it is likely that he would spend a lot of his time being smelly. He would be insecure and try to cover it up with laughter and good nature. And he would have a good, friendly nature—he would enjoy making friends, but he would always have a secret worry that they didn’t really care that much about him. He would also be very curious about other animals, using his work to learn more about their prey. His personal philosophy would be that nothing given to B’alam by their creator, whether it be claws, fangs, intelligence, magic, or telepathy, should ever be used to harm another B’alam.
xxxDoes he have any illegitimate cubs? No one can have illegitimate cubs! Milintica only grants cubs to those B’alam who have bound their souls, Nantlil and Tahtll, to each other. They could maybe have step-children someday, but only in rare cases can lifemating be broken.
xxxWhat is his mindset within the Tribe?
He would be lake-minded, and unlikely to travel often if at all. He reveres the arch-magus as prophets, the voice of Milintica in the mortal realm, and as their leaders. He would be very loyal to them, especially Stillwater for saving his life when he first awoke. He would respect other magus as B’alam who had gone the distance and are therefore worthy of respect. If he ever reached magus himself, he would likely be shocked, and always consider himself to be the least of the magus. As for his relationship with the Crafter? That would depend on what the Crafter ends up being like. He would likely view her as either a close friend or as a more talented coworker.
xxxWhat kind of plots would you like for him?
I don’t have anything concrete, but I can imagine a few things. He might want to design a sewage system, for example, and if there are bits of bones that cannot be used for crafting, he might start an ossuary to keep the bones. Someday, he might look to write a book on comparative anatomy, gained from years of studying the bones.
xxxWhat will he look for in a soul-mate?
His mate would have to be an exceptional individual, full of light, life, and humor, able to drag him out of his shell and tease out who he truly is. His mate would have to have a great sense of humor and be able to get him to act like a goofball. He might adopt some children in the meantime. He loves cubs.
xxxHow does he go about his work?
Telekinesis. But beyond that... There are, like…no ancient or medieval methods of tanning that aren’t totally disgusting. Well, okay, there is precisely one, but it requires several pounds of salt, which would be very difficult to gather. Salt in nature tends to not be particularly common, so unless there are salt pans nearby or several ocean-loving B’alam willing to run salt fields next to the ocean, the disgusting methods it is. These methods require three things: brains, urine, and feces. I promise not to go into too much detail in RP if that sort of detail bothers other people (which I expect it would!). Needless to say, his tannery would be on the down-wind side of Mirro te Weavia, if not on the other side of the lake/mountains. He will probably smell quite disgusting most of the time; but he will also be very strong from working the hides.
xxxIf he becomes a Magus, what spell will he learn first? If water-reaper could be used on non-living things, it would greatly help his tanning processes, as they include drying the hides. He would never use it to kill, as that would be an abuse of Milinitica’s gift. But as it only works on living things, he would probably learn water canteen first, as a good support spell for any later spells he intends to learn.

Tell his story ♦♦♦
|[ Prompt ]|

I apologize profusely, Thalion, but I think I may have to RP Stillwater as well in this. xP The way this is playing out in my head, this really needs to be a conversation, not an allusion to a conversation as I did with my last entry. Obviously, this could just be Canguro’s memory of how the conversation went, rather than the exact wording…

Dust and dry, and something in his heart told him it was unnatural. He was parched, and he thought he could feel himself shrivel up inside. The sun beat down on him from above, baking him dry, and as the long, hot day drew on, he could almost feel himself die. He could not move. He didn’t know how. He could just about drag his lids up from his dry eyes, but no more. As the sun finally began its retreat, he waited for the cold night to dawn and his life to ebb at last. It hadn’t been long. But it was the will of…strong paws…a dancing shuttle…claws, and a chisel… He closed his eyes, trying to feel as he did before he awoke in the dust and the dry. He’d felt an emotion, then, blooming in his heart, but now he could feel it but a tiny taste…

But as the light faded from the land, there was a sound in his ears, and a scent in his nose; ozone and life. He opened his eyes once more to see a creature standing before him. It was one such as himself, but for the weight he carried on his shoulders like a mantle of the world. He carried something in his mouth. The dust-dry B’alam stared at him dully, waiting for the other to make a move.

The other dropped a thing on the ground, and the smell that rose from it was pleasing to the dust-dry B’alam’s nose. He struggled to lift his head, but his body felt weak.

“Here. Eat this.” The other’s voice felt…right. It felt like…moisture. If moisture could fall from the sky. It felt like the feeling that had bloomed in his heart before he woke in the dust and the dry. It felt like… A miracle. Yes. He is a miracle. The miraculous other pushed the limp creature he had been carrying towards the dust-dry B’alam.

The dust-dry touched the creature with his nose. It felt…empty. Just as he had. Dead. “This is dead,” he whispered in a voice that cracked and withered. “Why is it dead?”

A troubled look entered the eyes of the other. A look of…the blooming feeling, twisted and battered. Sorrow. That was the twisting and the battering. “To live another day, we B’alam must return another spirit to the Grand Weaver,” he said softly.

The Grand Weaver—that must have been the chisel and the shuttle. The dust-dry felt a pinch at the corners of his eyes as he gazed at the limp animal. No. No, it was… “That’s not fair,” he whispered. “Isn’t there another way?”

The other shook his head. “All we can do is to put the spirit we released at rest.”

“How? How can we possibly do that? How can we do any good to a thing that we broke?” He closed his eyes and pawed at them, trying to make the pinching go away. It wouldn’t. It pulled at him, and he struggled with it.

“Here.” The miraculous other reached out a paw towards the dust-dry B’alam’s eyes. The dust-dry opened his eyes and stared at the offered paw. Something glittered on it, round and deep and full. “These are water orbs,” the other said. “They carry water for us, to keep us alive. Please. Drink. And do not be sad.”

The dust-dry stared at the gems, temporarily distracted from this troubling world. “Water orbs…those seem very…nice… Wish I had some like that.”

The other smiled. “You do.” He pointed to round objects on the dust-dry B’alam’s paws.

The dust-dry blinked once again. His were smaller, paler, like shallow water flowing over sandstone. Cautiously he touched his tongue to one of the orbs on his own paw. The result was like electricity; it flowed into him, touching his mind and his heart. Feeling spread to his paws, his tail, his ears, his eyes. Once again, he felt the blooming in his heart. “Water,” he croaked. He smiled for the first time. “Water.”

“We are borne of water,” the miraculous other murmured. As the dust-dry lapped away, pulling more of that wondrous substance into himself, he continued. “And our prey is not broken. Its body may no longer be able to hold its spirit, but its spirit is released to be one with the Grand Weaver. We thank it for helping us to live. And when we have eaten of its flesh, we honor its spirit by using what is left over.”

His thirst now slaked, the dust-dry turned towards the animal lying on the ground. If he squinted, he could imagine it was asleep. But it was not, and the blooming trembled at that thought. He touched it gently with his nose, trying not to think about how good it smelled. “Thank you,” he said. “Thank you, little creature. And thank you, sir. Thank you for the gift. For the gifts. And thank you, Grand Weaver, for…” He closed his eyes. “For everything.”

The other B’alam showed him how to open the tiny creature and what to eat. The bones inside stuck in his mouth when he tried to eat them as well, so hungry was he. But the other, who introduced himself as Stillwater, smiled and explained to him that those parts were not edible.

“So what do we do with them?”

“We use them. To show the spirit they belonged to our gratitude.”

The dust-dry B’alam stared at the sad little pile of bones and fur that was all that was left of the life that now warmed and filled his belly. That sorrow at death filled him once again and threatened to overwhelm the blooming. He looked back up at the Magus.

“Show me?”

xxxWhat kind of plots would you like for her?
Her knowledge being challenged - I would like to see other tribes or perhaps water tribe members challenging her knowledge about things. In end, it will make her determination and passion for writing and information more stronger

Encountering other tribes - This female wants to meet other tribes and learn about them along with exchanging information so water tribe could have a rich knowledge of each tribes and the histories will be preserved for eons.

Many challenges - As a scribe, there will be many challenges for her. Figuring out if the information is right. The means of getting to difficult places. That kind of thing.

xxxWhat will she look for in a soul-mate? Ideally, she will be looking for a male version of her. Serious and intense personality with passion of history, writing and learning new information along with the love of travelling and immersing in other cultures so she could progress with her job more effectively. Subconsciously, she wants a male that is a polar opposite of her. The male that is full of life and laughter with the ability to find humor or joy in every little thing that occurred. She wants a male that could bring a smile to her face and hear herself laughing for first time.

xxxHow does she come up with the language? After few months with another being, soaking everything he taught her and shown her greedily, she decided to follow water bodies for awhile, meditating at each one of them from bubbling brook to ocean. It took her another few months with a lot of meditating and scribbles in the sand or dirt but over that next few months, she gradually started to see the shape of the language along with the sound of it.

Water bubbling, rippling, and roaring all sounds like a music to her so the language will have lyrical tilt to it. (think Gaelic language or any languages that sounds lyrical to you)

The movements of the water influenced the language greatly so the penmanship will be very flowy and unified so there wouldn't be any spaces in words. (Think elvish language)
xxxIf she becomes a Magus, what spell will she learn first?
Water Charmer. She can use that ability in various different ways like assisting with building more libraries for water tribe or other tribes or using the wall of water as a blackboard so she could write things out or teach others about water tribe's language and way of writing.

The glowing light appears in a deep pond ensconced in the heart of the capital and the silver form curled up in a tight ball like a fetus appears, slowly floating up to the surface while the light follows it, leaving the trial of glittery light that wavered for few moments before fading out. The pressure around the female's body lessens and she stretches out from the tight ball with her eyes still closed, feeling the currents of water against her body and the differences in the temperatures is noted by this new female. The surface of the pond ripples as the head breaks the surface and she took her first large inhale of air while her eyes opens for first time but they were so blurry and the lights were so strong, she squeezed her eyes closed while she ducked her head back down under the water because that's where she felt safe.

The female opens her eyes under the water and felt the surge of an emotion she couldn't find a word for when she looked around at the plants and creatures that lives there. The passion of learning and be a proverbial sponge took the seed inside her heart and soul and it grows with every moment she takes a breath. Bringing her webbed paw to her face, the female stares at the paw in awe while she moves her paw around, examining every detail before she looks up at the surface, seeing a blurry form standing there. The curiosity overcame her initial fear, the female surfaces once again, blinking the blurriness away and stares at the large male that is doing something with his muzzle.. like its stretched out and she tilts her head quizzically at the large b'alam.

Her pale sky blue eyes looks around at her surroundings, taking in every detail as her paws touches the edge of the ground curiously, feeling different kind of texture under her pads and she looks up at the male that is doing something she's not familiar with. The female stares at the male, feeling like the gesture he is doing is a pleasant one but she couldn't figure out the purpose behind it. As the male moves away from the edge, she felt like she have to get out of her secure place so she climbed out of the water on her shaky legs and looks up at him to see if she is doing it right. After a moment of silence and her getting acquainted with her land legs, she looks at the male in startled surprise when she hears sounds coming from him but she stopped everything she was doing to listen to the sound coming from the male.

After few days, the female knows how to communicate with him or at least understand what the male have been saying and she also have discovered her name, Validhreniel. The male led her across the kingdom, showing her everything related to water from the brooks to oceans along with everything surrounding them (plants, creatures and whatnot) and his voice is a constant sound in her ear, explaining the basics of those things because that's all they know right now.. basics. As the sun climbs up from the horizon. sending the colors streaking across the skies, Validhreniel was awe-struck as she lays on top of the hill with the male, watching the sun makes its way across the sky to sunset. The female's eyes widens as the pale silvery version of the sun starts to rise up and the male laughed while whispering to her that its the moon. As the skies darkens and the white dots appears, sparkling against the darkness, the female's eyes widens as she stares at those unfamiliar things. "Sand?" She murmurs because she remembered how the sand glitters in the sunlight when she allowed the sand to run through her digits into the water. "No, that's stars." The male says gently as he looks up at the stars once again with the female.

There were so many questions the female have running through her mind that she knows that the male probably can't answer or will tell her to go out and find the answers for herself. Her gave evolved from wide-eyed curiosity to intense and serious as she becomes more serious about a new mission she have right now.

To answer all of those questions. Supply information to Water Tribe and Arch Magis. But... how? That question stuck in her head but she didn't let it stall her progress with the male's tutoring.

Many cycles of sun and moon have passed by in blurs as she greedily takes in everything the male have to offer, all of his knowledge, instructions and whatnot and she have grown in leaps and bounds. The entire world is out there, waiting for her to uncover the secrets, mysteries and reveal the information of the earth, heaven, lifeblood of this planet- water. The male mentioned that there are other tribes out there and that he would love her to head out to collect information on them and perhaps develop friendships with her. The female stood in front of the male after a day apart, looking at things that is laying between them quizzically, not sure what is going to happen next but she's always looking forward to what he have to say or show next.

"I think you are to be the one to gather the words spoken and shepherd us into the future. I trusts you to do this task, and I believes you are the one to do it." The male tells Validhreniel. "This will be your supplies you will need for this responsibility." He proceeds in describing the functions of each things she will need. The female thought she have experienced all of emotions throughout the months she shared with him but there is an emotion that feels like its swelling up inside her chest with light like sun and her eyes waters up little bit, tears starts to come down her cheeks. "Why am I crying?" The female says in alarmed manner as she looks in the pond's reflection.

"Those are tears of joy, my dear."

"Joy....." Validhreniel looks up at him in confusion for few heartbeats before she nods little bit, wiping her face with back of her paw. "Something I need to investigate." She murmurs to herself as she looks at the male with her usual intense gaze. "I will not fail you." She softly says as she quickly dons the satchel and utilizes her telekinesis to lift the parchment and quill pen to put them in the satchel. "Thank you for everything you have done for me. I know where I must go for the first step in my duty to Water Tribe." She says as she moves by the male, her tail brushing against his body in a sign of gratitude as she steps out of her temporary home into the sun's light on a mission to discover the official spoken and written language of the Water Tribe.

Show us who this B'alam is. Give us a taste of what we can expect from you in taking this role on. We want to believe this B'alam's story. We want to see how he develops this warrior's code, why each provision exists, and how he plans on enforcing the code within his ranks. There's no word limit.

As the days wore on, he kept up with bounding across the vast terrains to keep his muscles in tune with the uneven terrains and learn what he is capable of. He hoped that if he kept up with the training on the terrains his body would automatically switch as he came across each terrain. He had spent the time between awakening and what he was capable of now to staying by the magi at all times during the adjustment. He was grateful and honored to be given the role to train new recruits.

He had learned from day 1 that the tribe believed that violence was not an answer and he was intent on keeping it that way and he would tell his recruits not to use violence unless it was really necessary. If it wasn't necessary they would have to be diplomatic about handling the situation. He had hopes that each group of new recruits would follow the code and he would tell the recruits that having positive relationships with both your fellow braves and leader would benefit them in the long run because then they would have a support system to help them and encourage them to keep going and preserving.

He had also learned from his training on the terrains that if you have difficulty with a particular regimen you would be allowed to seek advice from your leader and ask if there was another way to complete the training. He believes that open communication among your fellow braves and the magi is important because it will help them better the training regime if there are any concerns that the braves have about it. In truth, he learned that through his own training that it was important to keep up with your training regime because if you decide to slack off and not maintain it then you are not fit to be part of the guard. He takes time and effort and dedication to be successful in training because it allows you to defend yourself.

About the B'alam ♦♦♦

xxxWhat's his name? Shahasi
xxxxxxMeaning? Brave
xxxPersonality || Shahasi is strong and brave. He acts stoic, though he is a little watery on the inside too. He has a love for both protecting his people and learning everything he can about different ways he can do his job. He is very dedicated, not only to the magus or the tribe, but to each of his people. As such, he feels a strong bond with all of them. He would do anything he could to protect them.
xxxDoes he have any brothers? No
xxxWhat is his mindset within the Tribe?
He is Lake-minded and has no desire to leave or travel. He knows that his people need him, and he knows that with that commitment, he cannot leave his post. He gets along with with the Magi as long as they follow their rules and don't make too much trouble. He allows for the differences in opinion on how he is supposed to do his job, listening well to advice, but doing what he feels is best for his people.
xxxWhat kind of plots would you like for him?
I would like to rp him with the magi, perhaps arguing over the best way to defend the tribe, or just talking about the defense of the tribe. I would also like to have rps with him training, no only himself but others. And, of course, I would love for him to find a mate, but that will probably be a heavily rped course because he does put the welfare of the tribe in front of his own.
xxxWhat will he look for in a soul-mate?
Someone who also puts the tribe and its values ahead of their own desires. He wouldn't be able to be with someone who used the rules to their own benefit. Maybe even a warrior, like himself. He has no preference for females over males, it will just have to play out with someone that he finds he loves.
xxxWhat values will he impress on his braves?
Braves protect the helpless, they use their strength to help with weak. They do not lie, or cheat, or steal. They put the protection of the Tribe before their own lives. They honor those that have come before and teach those that will come behind. They belong to the Tribe, and will stay to protect it.
xxxIf he becomes a Magus, what spell will he learn first? How will he use this magic?
He would use a water-whip spell first and he would use it only in defense of the Tribe.

Shahasi bounded from one rock to another, small pebbles falling into the water below. He would lead his younger ones on this trek as soon as he was certain none of the rocks would tumble down. It was a great way to get them into what they had signed up for, a rigorous run along the borders of the Lake. And, if any of them happen to fall, at least it was deep enough here that they shouldn't have any problem. They could all swim very well, after all.

Taking a breath at the top of the run, he looked out on his territory, back to the capitol, and felt a surge of pride. It was peacetime, so there was little to worry about, unless there was a surprise attack, but he was ready for that. He felt, that with his conferences with the Magi and his Braves, that together, they could protect their people from anything.

It wasn't arrogance, he still knew that if something unexpected happened, there would be loss of life simple because not everyone would be where they were needed, including himself. But training was important, and during this peace time, he could take the time to train the younger ones. He smiled. They weren't going to be very pleased with the length of this training session, starting at the center of the City and then ending at the same spot. He's run the drill for a few weeks, or until they proved that they could run from one end of the territory to the other and arrive still able to fight. Stamina was an important thing.

The rock seemed sturdy enough that it would hold under the trampling feet of his Braves. Shahasi glanced around before leaping off the tallest peak with a whoop and splashing down into the water. It felt great against his fur, filling his globes, and just swimming after the long hard run he'd had to get out here. He normally never came out this far, except on patrol. He enjoyed it when he did, but had no desire to come out here for any other reason. Swimming to shore only took him a moment and he eyed the way back home. Home. That was where he belonged. To defend his people, protect his Tribe. Train those that would come behind him, to serve and live as braves. This was his life. And he would never wish for another. Shahasi grinned as he ran, feet pounding on the grass.

Show us who this B'alam is. Give us a taste of what we can expect from you in taking this role on. We want to believe this B'alam's story, her dreams, her personality, her spirit. There's no word limit.

Over the years of practicing she had learn to craft things with different techniques to make new things or even make the skills she already knew slightly better. She valued what all the material she found and used could do in her hands, she could create simple accessories to more extravagant accessories that her tribe mates would enjoy and love and that would make them and their pelts more wonderful.

But, as the time wore on the techniques she first learned were starting to bore her because it was repetition, so she took it into her own paws and decided to travel around and discover new techniques from fellow weavers and then putting them into practice herself, but most of her first attempts were really bad but she discovered that over time she improved a lot and she was proud of herself and she was ready to show her tribes man what she could do.

xxxCan this B'alam have an abusive background? Why or why not? Absolutely not. This B’alam is first and foremost awakening and is a clean slate with only the present and future. ◘═══════◘

About the B'alam ♦♦♦

xxxWhat's his name? Gundisalv
xxxxxxMeaning? Visigothic name composed of the elements gund "battle, fight" and alfs "elf, wise fog spirit (from Nordic mythology), hence "battle genius; war elf."
xxxPersonality || Gundisalv is a stern male that comes off as grumpy and mean with a loud booming voice when he raises it to be heard but that is only the first few layers of his personality. This male is not really mean though he might be grumpy at times but otherwise he is incredibly respectful and polite with a strong and fierce disposition. There is always the look that is given to those who might want to cross him that does well enough to keep everyone in line without having to really raise his voice. Taking his duties to heart and very seriously it makes it difficult for some to joke with him and to get a smile to break on his stony face but when humor does take over it can be dry, sarcastic and pretty lame which makes it funny in an odd way.
Gundisalv is totally devoted to the Water tribe and impossibly devoted to the Grand Weaver. He believes that everything happens for a reason and that it is the will of the Grand Weaver when something does or doesn’t come to pass. He is a very tolerant male caring only for the character and heart of those around him but has no tolerance for anyone who disrespects the Grand Weaver in any way that takes life for granted or cursing the Grand Weaver for any imagined slight that happens in a B’alams journey. He also has no tolerance for those who would break away from the culture and nature of their tribe. For the most part while those layers of Gundisalv makes him a warrior more than ready to do close to anything to fulfill his calling and duties, he is also very patient. Gundisalv could and would be incredibly patient when it is necessary and called for, especially towards training braves and even cubs once they grace the tribe. Even if there was a dire situation and victims were the result, Gundisalv would be there as a caring brave to ease the fear and shock of the situation.
He considers all sides of a problem. It is no doubt up to this male to make a wise and strong decision to a problem and he will do it however, this male is neither beneath nor below anyone to ask someone’s opinion who might see this problem in another angle that he might have over looked. It is also to him a way to teach others to consider other voices aside from their own so as not to come off as selfish and arrogant in their decision making skills. Gundisalv also works hard alongside his soldiers no matter what tasks he gives them. If they are going to get down into the dirt then so will he and shoulder as much weight on his shoulder during a task with them.
xxxDoes he have any brothers? No. Gundisalv is newly awakened. However later on when and if he begins training soldiers he will come to see them as brothers, and perhaps even sisters, in arms and they will be another form of family in a military sense. They are one mission, one unit, one military all together. But he has no blood or adopted sibling if that is what the question pertains to.
xxxWhat is his mindset within the Tribe? Gundisalv is Lake-minded. There is no instinctive pull to leave the source and the Capital of the Water tribe. Gundisalv feels that his skill set is better suited in a more stable environment where he maybe more useful to his Magi and to the soldier that need to be trained under his critical eye in order to up-hold the high standard of being in the profession of a soldier. This male does indeed get along with the Magi and tries very hard to make certain that there are no ways of clashing with ideas. Gundisalv listens and if there is a suggestion he would like to say he will respectfully request that it be heard and then take any decisions from there to the next phase. If anything Gundisalv feels that it is his calling to ensure that the purpose of being guards and soldiers in protecting the knowledge, the creativity, the stories of the Water Tribe but more importantly the Water tribers and the future of it as his mantle to carry and something he does even if it means the cost of his life. In essence Gundisalv lives, eats, breathes being a soldier and does so with a passion and true happiness. It’s a tough and challenging job and someone has to do it…so why not him?
xxxWhat kind of plots would you like for him?
~Training roleplays with those who want to join up as soldiers. It would be interesting for him to push some to their limits to see what they can and can’t do. Being a soldier is not something to take lightly and he wants anyone to know that so that future soldiers are truly where they want to be and who they want to be.
~Gundisalv and the Magi’s of the tribe. It would be great for Gundisalv to truly form a respectful and strong bond with the Magi’s of the tribe as he does look up to them for guidance as he is still a student even if and when he becomes a teacher of military ways. I would also want for him to have the chance to approach the Magi’s if there is something that really needs a wiser mind to look at and to decide upon.
~Interactions with other Water Tribers. Gundisalv needs to be social and know how to interact socially where he shows another side to his rather militaristic side that everyone knows him for.
~That is my soul mate. I totally want Gundisalv to fall head over heels for a female. I want him to become this besotted male who is so sure of himself but suddenly trips all over in front of this special female.
~Even soldiers have stories. This would be great for Gundisalv to talk about “war” stories or about training stories that are good natured but also those that have morals to tell to future cubs of the tribe and to anyone who would be interested in listening.
xxxWhat will he look for in a soul-mate?
This is tricky. Either a female who is strong like him and in her own way a warrior where they can share a profession and love together but that might clash when he’ll be such a male and want her to stay away for her protection or a kind female who brings out the kindness and gentlest of emotions from him. A kind female who keeps him from forgetting about the beautiful nature around them and of the gentler emotions. A female who can braid his tuffs of hair and enjoys making sure that Gundisalv looks every bit the warrior but with a kiss good bye and a “See you home soon love”. A female that brings out the young cub from his soul whenever he is taking off from training and who gives him deep, fulfilling conversations that touches on all topics that can possibly be brought up. A female that is not afraid to tell him “I love you” in front of everyone including his soldiers and it brings that same response and feeling out of him with pride. Yeah that kind female is the one he needs in his life for sure.
xxxWhat values will he impress on his braves?
~A code of honor, ethics and pride that are instilled in them and recited from the mind, heart and soul.
~The value words that are to be impressed on his braves is: Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity and Personal Courage. That in turn spells out LDRSHIP or leadership.
~Warrior Ethos:
I will always place the mission first
I will never accept defeat
I will never quit
I will never leave a fallen comrade
~Braves Creed
I am a Water Brave.
I am a warrior and a member of a team.
I serve the Water tribe for now and forever and live by the warrior values.
I will always place the mission first.
I will never accept defeat.
I will never quit.
I will never leave a fallen comrade.
I am disciplined, physically and mentally tough, trained and proficient in my warrior tasks and drills.
I always maintain my tribe, my people and myself.
I engage diplomatic warfare before physical warfare.
I stand ready to deploy, engage, and curb any enemies violent actions through words and then force in order to protect all life of my tribe and that of other civilians.
I am a guardian of the waters and of the Water tribe.
I am a Water Brave!
~It does seem quite long but the hope is to instill the warrior mentality that is strong but thriving in maintaining the laws and culture of the Water Tribe.
xxxIf he becomes a Magus, what spell will she learn first? How will he use this magic?Water Charmer. To way Gundisalv will be able to use this magic is how it is intended as an offensive and defensive tool against opponents that threaten the balance and peace of the Water Tribe. Though perhaps if it is within the possibilities Gundisalv can become better and better to use it as a defensive tool for those around him to protect from opponents while he physically distracts and fights those opponents to give those caught in the crossfire a chance to run off. The Water charmer description also states that it can be used to redirect bodies of waters to canals and such which can be helpful in the chance that something is preventing water from going down it’s natural path or any water-related issue that are caused in the real world and can be converted to issues here that can be an environmental and tribal effect, if that makes sense.

Tell his story ♦♦♦
|[ Prompt ]|

Show us who this B'alam is. Give us a taste of what we can expect from you in taking this role on. We want to believe this B'alam's story. We want to see how he develops this warrior's code, why each provision exists, and how he plans on enforcing the code within his ranks. There's no word limit.

A soft trickle of water filled the ears of a large blue male as his very first sounds that woke him up from an impossibly long sleep. At least it seemed like one with the stiff sensation that filled his muscles making it a bit difficult to move. A deep breath of fresh, life giving air with the taste of fresh water filled his lungs that spread throughout his being waking him up further. Finally with each of his senses waking up in their own way and awareness coming to this large male, his eyes opened slowly. Vision blurry he lifted his paw to wipe it away to focus better at the surroundings that he was in and next to whom. After what seemed like several long minutes the male pushed himself up to a sitting position at first feeling slightly woozy until he gained enough of his bearings to move to his feet in the standing position. Lifting each leg this male got used to the new movements of his body and turned to look at the other figure that stood close by with this incredible energy of strength, of knowledge and of wisdom.

There was something about this figure that pulled to him. It was as if he felt a sort of bond like kinship to this great B’alam. As if deep down he knew that this male with the energy that rolled off him was someone important and the one he would respect for all time. A mentor and perhaps a friend that he would follow….which is exactly what this male did. This male followed the Magus Still Water, he would soon learn as his title and name, to explore the very heart of the territory they were placed in to awaken. Oh how glorious this place was. It was everything anyone could ever possible wish to be in as it called to his soul. The fabric of awareness increased as a name seemingly was whispered in his mind by self conscious or instinct so that he could have an identity like his mentor Still Water. Gundisalv. Gundisalv. That is his name and it will be forever more as the greater sensation of purpose, duty and calling filled his heart, mind and his soul. Next to the Magus Gundisalv paid close and critical attention to learning. Learning the basics of survival and developing into his own while they explored the terrain of their home from the slippery rocks, one of which he did slip and fell into the water hilariously, swimming through the lake where he developed his muscle strength and pushing as hard and far as their bodies could take. Gundisalv took pride in learning what it is he could and couldn’t do just by pushing his body to its limit and growing in skill. Yet beyond the physical Gundisalv was growing in knowledge.

Not rapidly or else it would be an information overload that could break down the mental stability but a steady stream of knowledge that came the teachings of Still Water and the explorations of their territory to his own personal ways of learning. It came down to finally being given something important, something that required him to taken on a heavy mantle that is not for the faint of heart but of the strong heart, the strong willed and the strong of souls. Gundisalv was charged by the Magus to become the teacher of the tribe in the art of defenses, to know how to defend themselves and each other. The Magus charged Gundisalv to create a code for the warriors to live by with their own unique names as the Braves. Gundisalv is to train the future Braves to uphold these codes of conduct and in turn to punish those who would dare to betray this tribe that made the Water b’alam who and what they are as individuals, as a whole. Taking this to heart and to his soul Gundisalv decided to take time away from his mentor in order to mediate on the code of warriors, of what it is that he would do to teach and train the tribe on how to defend themselves from any threat and how to punish those who would commit the worst crime of betraying this tribe.

Entering the great lake and swimming as deep as he could manage Gundisalv spent long moments until he had to go back to the surface to drink in the fresh air and would enter the depths of the water as his mediation. In that mediation his eyes would be closed and would give himself up to the soothing embrace that the water gave him to think. In those thoughts ideas came to him. Words came to him. The feelings behind those words with the meanings and what they would stand for. Leadership. There needed to be leadership among the future braves. There needed to be a personal calling to be able to guard their home and the tribers that were the present and future of their kind. It was more than imperative to just be a warrior and defend. There needed to be pride in doing something that not everyone would want to do or would be able to do for whatever those personal reasons were. A group of sentences came to his mind as he broke free to the air and shook out his wet fur, with the longer strands of his fur curling slightly around his neck and face a bit. Turning to look at his reflection in the water, more thoughts came to the mind of Gundisalv in the form of a warrior ethos. The four sentences that would be the core values of the braves to each other as brethrens and to their fellow tribers.

Yet around those core values of the braves came the vows made as braves to their water tribe, to their duty and to each other as a whole solid unit. The creed was to be recited and said in unison to represent who they are and what they could become in the future. Gundisalv would train all matter of his kind to help protect those who are lake-minded and take care of their home just as they would serve that dedication to those who travel away from the capital that will encounter foreign individuals who might be wary of them and still need to be watched out for. Yet further than themselves they will honor the words, voice and actions of their Magus. They will respect the law and order of their tribe. They will cherish the knowledge and wisdom that comes with age and experience in their own time but also from their Magus. They will follow and love the source of their life in the Grand Weaver for guidance when they find themselves alone and in need of it. Gundisalv wanted himself to be the best he could be in setting the high standard for what how one should conduct themselves and how one should perform their duties. It is going to be very difficult for anyone to handle the vigorous training and teachings but in the end it would be worth it.

The warrior male sat down staring at his reflection harder as those thoughts went through him. Looking at the long stands of his hair, he lifted his paws to cut long blades of grass and began to braid his tuffs. One along his neck and cheek with three along his neck. Gundisalv saw that he looked much better and a lot more fiercer with them like that and decided that perhaps this would be something required of his braves to have. Of course there were so much more that needed to be brought up to his mentor but perhaps there would be great guidance to take his thoughts and turn them into something greater that what they start out as. Yes…With that Gundisalv turned away from the water in search of his mentor Still Water to tell him the thoughts that came from his mediation and that perhaps they could be the solid foundation for the braves and future warriors.

I would love to do some craft plots, maybe her with a few young ones with her teaching them how to do some crafts. I imagine she would love to teach everyone about the different crafts. Tell her story ♦♦♦
|[ Prompt ]|

Show us who this B'alam is. Give us a taste of what we can expect from you in taking this role on. We want to believe this B'alam's story, her dreams, her personality, her spirit. There's no word limit.

She had always loved to craft. As her crafts had increased and gotten better and better she became even more excited. It got to the point where she would continually place her crafts onto her body to showcase them. She has a beaded necklace around her neck, tail, back, or anywhere she could place them. She has always found working with beads and string so much fun. Weaving was the first thing she learned and it has a special place in her heart. This didn't mean that she didn't like doing other things. She absolutely loved finding new things to use.

The Magus' words rang clear in her head. She was the one he was intrusting the future of the crafting and merchant trades to. It was to be her responsibility to help increase the trade from other tribes with the water tribe. She knew very well that she could use her crafts in order to get supplies. So she set her mind to going off to visit the other tribes. She would need to prepare first in order to insure that she would have things that the other tribes would want. She made a list of things she thought the other tribes would like.

"Hmm... Bracelets, and Necklaces, Oh... Hair charms, and leg wraps..."
She kept naming different crafts until each and every craft she knew how to make was on the list. She blinked as she looked at the list she had just made. "Well then... I guess I should get to work!" She said with a laugh. She gathered her supplies together and looked around to see what she should start on first. She pondered for a few moments before deciding.

"There we go... Let's start...." She said as she started humming a happy tune. She used the power of her telekinesis to manipulate the string in front of her. She would start by making the leg wraps. She absolutely loved making them. She tied a few little knots in it and added a bead here and a feather there. She giggled as it started to come together. She loved watching everything come together so nicely. As she continued to tie the threads together with the beads and feathers, it started to take shape. She knew this one would be for a bigger paw size. She looked at it as she tied the last few knots in the threads. She set the leg wraps down on the table beside her and thought of the perfect thing to go with them!

"I know! I'll make a matching set!" She exclaimed to herself. It had become a habit for her to talk to herself. She just couldn't help it. Her mind was constantly thinking of what she could do next that she just had to tell herself what she was thinking. She laughed as she picked up the metal shape of a circlet that matched the color of the thread she was just using. "This will go nicely..." She said with a smile. She worked the beads and feathers into the circlet until it had about the same theme as the leg wraps. She beamed with pride as she looked at the finished circlet. She was so happy when she put it down next to the leg wraps she had been working on and they matched perfectly.

She wondered for a moment if the Tanner would be joining her on this first journey to the other tribes. While she couldn't wait to leave, she also couldn't wait to start teaching here. She was also supposed to teach the rest of the tribe how to craft. She took as much pride in this position as she did in her own crafts. She always found the looks on the others faces inspiring and wonderful when they successfully finished a craft. She was always so happy for them. She figured that was exactly why the Magus had chosen her for this job. She beamed once more as she thought about the young cub that was learning to weave together dried grasses just as she had learned to. She always started them the same way she had started. She was certain that it was best to learn the basics first. The grasses were easy to work with and if you did happen to make a mistake it was easily fixed. Whereas working with a bit of thread or leather wouldn't be as easy to fix or to work with.

She continued making her crafts for trades with the other tribes as she thought about her own tribe. Crafting had become second nature to her, and she could almost swear she was even capable of doing it in her sleep. She knew others saw her only as "The Crazy Craft Lady" but she was ok with it. She knew that not everyone would understand her love of crafts, or the way her mind worked. She knew that she sometimes rambled on about things, and she had a tendency to talk to much. She couldn't help it. Her excitement and joy just seemed to spill over. She tucked everything neatly in her bag, with all of her crafts she had recently done before these still adorning her body. She smiled as she pulled out the circlet once more. 'I'll just wear it for a little bit....' She thought to herself. 'I'm sure no one will mind!' She put the circlet on her head and beamed with pride at the work she had done on it. She walked out of her home with her tail high in the air. It was as if she was walking on the clouds. She couldn't wait to begin her first adventure!
