Nikita was getting used to living near the sands, and near the trees. It made the days fun and easy to play a wide variety of games. Nikita loved playing tag over all the different terrains. Today Bob had promised to take them further into the forest. Somewhere with 'a lot of water'. Nikita was excited to see this. She had seen little streams and puddles, enough to drink from, but never something as big as Bob explained.

Her head was held high as she pranced around the base of Bob's feet. Her tail was held high.

"Can we go? Is it late enough to go now?" She hastily required.

Her crimson eyes glanced over to where she had last seen Riot, just to see if she could get some back up with this pressing matter. It was already a little past early morning. The sun was up, the sky was slightly orange and mostly blue. That was a good time to go see everything!!




Bob watched the prancing fire kitten with much amusement. Occasionally his paw would lightly stretch out and purposefully miss batting at the little cub. He had gotten used to -most- of their antics. They were good at coming up with new things now and than, but it only took a few moments to learn what they were up to. It made life meaningful, to guard these young ones and train them.

They brought him joy. Even now he held a smile as he watched Nikita.

"...When Riot is ready." Bob answered in his usual tone.

It had warmed a bit over the few days he had known them. But it was still a very deep and bold sound.

He was going to get it this time. The brown back hunches of Riot wobbled and wiggled as the brown wildcub lowered himself to the ground. Awkward large paws grip and needed the ground. Sharp blue yes remained focused on a hopping green thing, it was a 'bug' of some sort or something that Bob called it, that only seemed to be in the tree area. The growing cub was determined to catch one, he wanted to give it to Nikita...and Timing was everything.

As the green creature shifted, Riot hunched down lower. Ears flicked and stilled aimed at the target.

Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle. Paws gripped the ground once more, Riot did his best to still a excited purr that wanted to rattle though his body.

Nikita was going to see one of those bugs.

Riot had wondered over the rock he had remained perched and was on the other side prowling after the little bug.

Ears flicked again as the little bug shifted. Then his chance the bug leap, and so did Riots large paws sprung into action.

Paws landed on the little creature, and it was caught in mid hop.

He had caught it!

Excitedly, his maw peeked between his paws to grab the bug with the front of his teeth.

Then he heard his name. A dark brown ear flicked as he heard Bob say his name.

Oh! Right! They where going to see the big water!

With a scamper, Riot hopped to all fours with trophy hanging out of maw. Climbing the bolder he hopped over the other side.

"Mook!" Purred Riot as his akward paws carried him in a proud prance over to Bob and Nikita.

At the tip of his maw, the little hopper, creaked and wiggled.

Nikita immediately ran from her Bob circuit race to be by Riot's side. Her ears perked far forward while her tail held high while she made her delighted run-prance. Bob had never seen such a thing.

Her eyes brightened while a long 'whoaa' breath passed her maw. Immediately eyes narrowed in on the wiggling grasshopper delicately placed in Riot's maw. Her leaned in close to look at all of its details. Fascinating!!She had seen these creatures at a distance, but never so close! Nikita had not been so successful in capturing them.

"You are so amazing!" Nikita exclaimed in wonder.

They had not found any pink rocks, but as the days passed on, Nikita was becoming more and more fine with that. Riot had his pink hair tuft, because he had it, there didn't need to be another one. Nikita was at peace with this.

Bob walked after the young cub, looking up to see what Riot had done as he walked along. That was pretty impressive! He managed to pounce a cricket.

"...that is good work. You are getting better at pouncing." Bob noted after Nikita's praise.

Bob paused just behind Nikita before he knelt down a bit to get a look at the bug as well. He had caught many of them himself and seen them upclose, however, he felt it good to investigate Riot's work as well. It showed his interest and approval of the young cub's antics. Somehow, he knew that was the way to go.

Riot's tail was as poised and as tall as a flag pole as he walked over to his two friends

"Ets foh ew." Came from Riot as he stretched out his Neck to give it to Nikita, he had wanted her to see it up close. He had seen how she watched them hop about.

As she stated how amazing he was, Riots chest puffed and his stance only posed more proudly as even Bob looked it over and said he was getting better.

Blue eyes watched them both as they took in the amazement of his cetch. A satisfied sigh left the cub.

Without any hesitation, Nikita delicately took the struggling bug in her maw. Eyes brightened with delight. This was another glorious gift! She had rocks, various leaves/pines, and now she had a bug! One that she had never seen so close, let alone touch!

"hank ew" Nikita whispered carefully past the poor bug in her maw.

Than, as if it were suddenly a new thing, she turned to Bob with a proud look in her eye.

"ookit at iet guh eh" She whispered just as delicately as her thanks. Her head lifted as high as she could possibly get it to go just so he could see this miraculous gift. A gentle 'rattle-like' excitea-pur reverberated deep within her chest.

She would have to re-pay Riot for all these gifts when they found some fire. Earth had so many neat things, but she really wanted to gift Riot something from the fire.

Bob watched the cub's transaction carefully and quietly, not wanting to interrupt the moment between the two young ones. When Nikita turned her head to him to re-show the bug, he looked it over just as carefully as before.

It really was an impressive catch.

"...That was very nice of him. This looks like a special one." Bob added with a smile. He couldn't help but be very proud of the little ones.

"...do you have somewhere to put it?" Bob inquired after another moment of watching the thing struggle.

As Nikita took the big, a smile remained on the cub's lips as she seemed delighted in such a find.

"I'm glad you like it." riot spoke, fallowing Nikita as she showed to Bob. His ears flicked and pointed forward with interest as Bob seemed to like the gift too. Maybe he should have gotten Bob one too.

Curiously, Riot's tail twisted and wrapped in a tick as his large ears heard Nikita's purr.

"It is." Riot was quick to chime in and prove that the catch was indeed a special one. Turning his fat head, Riot looked back at Nikita. Did she have somewhere to put it?

"You can eat it." The cub suggested admitted his tone was a bit wicked.

Nikita gave a little thought about Riot's suggestion. Bob didn't have anything else to say, so perhaps that would be a good idea. She had never tried one before. With a shrug she tossed her head back while her maw loosened just enough to send the bug back kicking and chirping.

After a small struggle to keep it down she released a satisfied breath. Not as good as meat, but had a slight 'taste' to it. She was also a little bias considering it was a gift.

"That was a good idea!" Nikia purred happily before lowering her head and giving Riot a slight 'bump' with her horns.

"Are we ready to see the big water yet?" She followed up the bump with an inquiry. "Bob said that it was up to you when we leave."

Bob had tried his own fair share of bugs. They were a good quick energy source, which, reminded him, Nikita might just be very active for the next hour or so... Fun cub ambitions.

He looked back to Riot and gave him a nod.

"... will we all be walking, or would you two rather have a ride?" Bob lowered his head as he asked the two of them.

He didn't mind either way. Though, at the water, he would have to remove his armor.

riot's maw opened and widened with a smile, as Nikita actually ate the bug. His ear's pointed curiously. It was something, Riot had been thinking of doing-and well, he was living vicariously though her. He did after all get it for her and she could do what she wanted with it.

"What did it taste like?" Riot asked curiously and he started in a soft purr as she nudged him with her horns.

"Oh." The cub answered smartly, he hadn't relized that they where waiting on him. Bright blue eyes darted scanning the ground as if to read his own thoughts by it.

Well, what where they waiting for?! He couldn't find an answer, pass him wanting to catch the big for Nikita.

"Yeah!" the cub brightened looking to Nikita then up to Bob.

"I want to run!" Riot stated wildly as he bounced around and started to dart off ahead, he had no idea where they were going-just that they where waiting on him. Cub logic said, that he must know where it was, so tail held high he lead the way.

"Like a kicking bug!" Nikita answere with a hum. Had she known what a chicken was, she would have gone with that. Perhaps now chicken tasted like bugs.

Though, the thought was immidiately dropped as Riot took off running toward the big waters. Or, where Bob has pointed out the direction was going to be.
Her ears perked forward, tail stood up like a pole, and her head pulled back as she ran. In this terrain she was on a more even ground (pun intended) with him. This wasn't as unstable as the sands were. Here she could catch up with him. Or believed she could. Really, there was no competition, she just wanted to run with him.

'HEY!" She called playfully while she chased after him.

Her paws attempting to push her faster and faster after Riot's own steps.

Bob looked after the cubs as they took off. He gave them both a very brief head start before she begun his own paced run after them. It was easy for him to catch up, however, he was sure to pace himself to be just behind Riot at all times.

"...Do you remember how to find the water?" Bob inquired, hinting to his previous lesson on how to find water.

Riot's legs kicked unevenly and akwardly as he raced ahead, with a turn of his head he saw Nikita right behind him. As she called for him, he slowed and looked up to Bob as his large paws where heard.

"Uh, I think so." riot spoke turning his head back, his brow forward as he tried to think and concentrate on running at the same time. His pace slowed, as his ears flicked back.

Nikita's quickened paced did not go unknown

"It's the 'wet' smell, right?" The cub looked up to Bob, before taking a look over to Nikita. He should know the answer to this one. "And! Where the green grows, how it is facing!" Riot cheered, he was sure that was the answer. The 'green' being the moss....


Brighten eyes looked over to Nikita, with a grin before looking back over to Bob making sure he was right or not.

"...yes." Bob answered proudly. "You get to lead the day today."

Bob passed the honor to him as a subtle encouragement to practice those skills. He would need to, especially if he planned on being in the desert for a while. The cubs seemed to continue to have a fascination with the sands. Which was fine, but Bob wanted to be sure they were ready.

Adjusting his speed once again, Bob moved behind Nikita, whom had managed to get just behind Riot. She seemed incredibly impressed.

Bob himself was slightly puffed at Riot's memory. He was proud of the two cubs.

"The wet smell, the moss, and the more animals!" Nikita chimed in.

With some effort in her own awkward running, she managed to pull just behind Riot. Her eyes playfully remained forward while tail remained like a pole attached to her tuckas.

SHe wasn't sure about the animals, but she did recall him saying there were a lot who depended on the big waters. OH! and -

"Fish! are we going to get a fish too!?" Nikita called out to anyone who would answer. Riot was in charge, bot Bob seemed to know a lot about everything in the entire universe and big waters. They were so lucky.

"Okay." Riot answered, full of confidence as he continued to strut forward. His nose snuffed the air as he did his best to find this 'big' water, slowing his pace to a steady walk, as he listened to Bob and Nikita a smile rested in the wild cubs maw. Nikita was really good at remembering Bob's teachings. His ear flicked back to Nikita's exclamation.

Fish! He had forgotten about the ceatures.

"I'll get you a fish." Riot puffed as he turned his head back to look back at Nikita and Bob. Eyes, full of determination looked up to Bob, he then looked back to Nikita and nodded before continuing along the path for water.

Turning his nose back to the air, his head turned and he hopped forward and started in another jog once more.

NIkita's eyes brightened to Riot's generous decloration. He would get her a fish, he was amazing at catching things. Crimson eyes glanced back at the proud young make and she couldn't help but puff proudly as well. Nikita's head held high while her tiny chest puffed out with each deep breath. Each step she took she thrust her paws awkwardly forward to attempt to bat at Riot's tail. The awkward steps caused her to have a slight "kitten" waddle to her movement.

"You could too. You are thhe best at chatching things." Nikita declared proudly.

"I'm going to catch you one too, and a bug... and..." She paused to glance over to Bob for ideas of more things to catch. "And anything else you want."

Satisfied with that cub promise, she continued her awkward stride forward, only caring to sniff for the 'water smell' between every other step.

Bob continued to follow behind the two cubs to be sure that they were still on the right path. So far Riot was doing a wonderful job. It was good to know they were following along with his lessons. This was probably one of the more important ones he could share.

"...Fish are tricky." Bob admitted to the cub. "... do you know how to catch one?"

Bob's inquiry, though playful, was an obvious test of knowledge. Something he occasionally gave to the cubs in the form of a game or as thy walked to another area he wished to show to them. It kept them on their toes. Games, he figured, was the best way for them to learn.

As Riot felt the soft touch of Nikita's paw batting his tail. Stoping, Riot turned his head and his tail ticked to the side. A smile rested on his wild maw, turning himself he quickly went for a tackle at Nikita.

He was the best at catching, except when it came to Nikita it seemed.

"No." Riot answered honestly. "But I'm still gonna do it." The cub claimed confidently, working on his playful retaliation towards Nikita.

His tail whipped around, for balance. He was sure he was going to get Nikita a fish, and other great things. Better things she could eat too, things that taste better then bugs...  

[GunSniper]

Nikita's tail curled into an upsideown "u" before she begun to hop sideways in spurratic directions and random intervals. On every bounce her forepaws turned toward him than back toward the ground just before the full hop that can be completed.

"Ye-ye-yes! You a-a-a-a-are!" She laughed in sync with her bouncing. "Me-e-e-e-e too!!"

As Bob walked past them, Nikita hopped sideways and ziggzaggy in his general direction. Her ears flopped back playfully while her hops occasionally angled so she could see where Riot was in her playful bounding.

"It-t-t willl-l-l-l be-e-e-e-e tha-a-a-a-a bes-s-s-s-s-s-t!!" Nikita continued to giggle.

Bob side-glanced the cub action as he casually walked past them. He had no doubts that they could easily catch up when they focused. Though, he had enough of a mind to keep an eye on them in case they became too distracted.

"... It takes patients." Bob answered Riot calmly. "...standing still and waiting."

Though, perhaps that was too much to expect from a young cub. It still could be fun to watch.
