Time travel SUCKS. Drifter and mercenary Arell L'amour could be the first one to tell you that. However, one night in Riverbend, Texas flung him and his companion Anna Lee back to his home time . . . but not the home he remembered for sure.

"Ow . . . friggin' head hoits . . . you a'right, che'?" Arell asked his companion as he got to his feet. It LOOKED like the modern day . . . but something seemed off. Like it was directed by Tim Burton kinda off.

Anna Lee'

She tumbled forward and into a wall. Laying there she then looked up at Arell,"Oh, yeah fine! I still prefer to be thrown off a horse though...", she said. Only to stand up and look around. "Where are we?", she asked him. Now dusting her pants off as her shirt was still tucked in.

Arell scratched his head as he helped her up. "Somethin' tells me we ain't in Texas anymore, Lee." he drawled as he heard a low, ominous growl coming from an adjacent alley, Arell immediately going for his pump gun.

"An' de welcome wagon's already here . . ."

She stood up with his help and found she still had her two revolving pistols. With a small bag of bullets, that she resorted to stealing. Her bow and arrows, well they got lost during a herd of undead. Seeing Arell go for his gun she put one of her revolving pistols in the back of her pants. As the other one was attached to her ankle. "Great, we can't get a break.", she growled. "And you still owe me a bow.", she reminded him. Like Misty would remind Ash out of Pokemon all the time, he owed her a bike.

"Reckon we can go t' Cabela's latah an' we can pick un' out, but in de meantime . . ." Arell growled before he saw a horde coming from behind her. " . . . WHATCHER a**!" he yelped as he charged, getting close to the enemy and opening fire.

BLAM! BLAM! K-BLAM! BLAM!

She turned around and started to shoot the zombies in the head. And started to got the second revolver out and emptied it. Emptying both of them out, and putting one in her boot holster. As she put the bullets in the gun. Only to start to shoot more of them. The horde seemed like it was thinning out.

But nope, a couple of zombies came up behind them. She managed to take them out and refill her bullets. "Arell! We need to get!", she said. Only to use a pipe she found on the ground as a blunt force object. Well her other gun was in her shirt holster.

Soon enough they cleared out a good number of zombies. "Arell let's go!", she said. Only to grab his arm and stepped in front of him. Swinging at the zombies with the pipe. Two down with in one blow. Since one hit it's head against the wall and the other had the direct contact. Looking up at Arell she had anger, fear, and something else in her eyes. "Arell now! We need to leave!", she said.

"You think I doan' KNOW dat?!" Arell growled, hanging off the fire escape of a building with one hand, the other switched out for one of his pistols, blasting away before he let go, crashing into a few more as he let loose with a whiff of the old Brimstone and the crunch of lead and bone.

"Head out to'wads de street. Reckon we can git in dat buildin' across de road from wheah we are an' get higha groun'! I'll cover you!" he said, opening fire on the zombies.

She looked around quickly and grumbled. No zombies behind them yet. "Fine.", she snapped. Maybe it was the stress from zombies seeming to show up when she was finally relaxing. Heading towards the street she, she took a couple of zombies out. Then making her way to the building she was a bit antsy. She opened the door slowly and making sure nothing was coming out. Still using the pipe as her main weapon.

She quickly scouted the place, which took almost no time. Of course she had closed the door behind her, nothing was in here good! Now she waited at the door for Arell to get his a** over here. Loading both of her guns she realized she was shaking a bit and groaned.

Arell had provided decent cover fire as he traded the pistols for a stick of TNT! The big Cajun lit the fuse as he barreled through the door, chucking it before he shut it behind him and Anna Lee.

"WHEW! Reckon we gon' be a'right afta a se- KA-BOOOOOOM!!!!! err . . . NOW we safe." the Cajun said as leaned against the door, relaxing at last.

After she was done loading her guns. She check the bag of bullets. That's when Arell came hauling a** in. Her nerves were shot so she continued to shake, even after the explosion. "Why can't we have one week, one week just to be normal?", she asked him. Only for the shaking to finally stop.

She then headed to the living room area in the house like office place. Plopping into a chair, only for the back legs to break. Making her tumble into another wall.

Arell shrugged. "In all fai'ness che', dis IS no'mal for me . . . err, 'cept de undead thang. Don't care fo' dat. Rather be fishin' back on Bayou Teche t' be fair an' honest do'." the big Cajun growled after he got himself calmed down. Must less get over the surprise that Anna Lee just dropped a "********" . . . she NEVER did that back in the Old West!

"She-it . . . " he growled, grabbing a smoke before he sat down beside her. "Prob'ly best we stick heah fo' now. Gonna have t' get recon in t'morrow t' find higha groun'."

Looking at Arell as he sat beside her. She shrugged,"Only problem is food.", she said. Leaning her head against the wall she looked at the ceiling for a moment. "So, what year are we in?", she asked him. There was a foot in between them.

Some times she would allow herself to be closer to him. But now, she was just trying to keep herself together. Glancing at Arell as he smoked. Though she gave him the same reaction like she would since she could recall. A small wrinkle of the nose, it could be taken as an 'insult' or be thought of as cute.

Arell nodded. "It LOOKS like 2012, hon but not one I remembah . . . granted I was drunk fer most of it." Arell said as he rested that moment, careful not to get the tobacco smoke in her face.

It was there that he got a good glimpse of her as they stayed there. She was so beautiful. Reminded her of a woman he knew. However she was definitely right. They needed food.

"Reckon we can find somethin'. Just gotta find out wheah WE are." Arell drawled.

Listening to him she nodded. Then rubbed her right shoulder a bit. She had swung with the pipe a bit harder then she had to. Saying nothing she kicked her boots off and took her ankle holster off. As long as they could relax for now, she was fine. "Looks like the slums.", she finally replied. The building was in descent shape. But every where else looked like it was run down.
