Suppose you were offered a big metal case covered in lots of colorful lights that flash, and it has a bunch of switches and dials and knobs.
When on, it plays a bunch of the stock electronic noises we've been hearing in sci fi for decades, on a loop, because if machinery isn't always making one of those sounds then it must be malfunctioning.
It also has a reel to reel roll that plays back and forth for no other reason than to click when it reaches an end of the roll, and to make the sound of a reel to reel roll being played.
There is also a tickertape dispenser built in, that can be replenished when it runs out as a button makes it print a bunch of numbers on tickertape.
It's overall appearance is that of any computer you've ever seen in science fiction between 1920 and 1970.
Would you accept?
