[ HH 1 VS 1] So much for best buds (Ami, Pokerus)

"Jacking lockers" mumbled a dragon as she fought with her own, trying to open the rusty thing without it trying to bite back. She eventually managed this feat. By tearing the hole door off.

"..." with a careful look around, she carefully placed the door back on, then ran down the corridor before she heard it clatter to the ground. Nope, not paying for it.

Soon enough she rounded a corner, and was met with a face full of white as she was sent straight to the haunted house. The dragon sighed. stupid haunted house and it's random pop ups.

Oh well, maybe she'd get to meet someone she knew?

Ami hated off island duty. She hated it with a passion. She'd much rather be curled up in the labs somewhere, or at the very least, working on the beach.

But no, she was in the ******** haunted house. She hated this place.

When she saw a creature (and it was clearly a creature, considering the fins and tail) she ran forward to attack. No idiotic battle cry. Just the orders "kill on sight."

Her ears twitched at the sound of approaching footsteps, and she spun around to see who was coming at her. Instead of getting ready to fight, she blinked at the sight of the hunter. Had she seen her before...oh, wait!

"Hey Ami!" She called out, one hand waving in a friendly gesture. " Ami~ Hey it's me, Pokerus! Remember?" It was the girl from the white kingdom! The one who had looked so impressed at see a dragon. It was hard to forget someone who had looked so happy.

Except...she wasn't looking so happy now. In fact wasn't she about to-

"....Uh oh."

Ami didn't hesitate. She had no lingering feelings of friendship for the beast. Whatever they had shared in the aftermath of the kings' kingdom was gone, lost in the wind.

Having been through the haunted house a thousand times gave her experience, but the element of surprised didn't hurt either. She still had yet to speak. For Ami, there was nothing to say.

Before she could move let alone defend herself, Poke felt the sharp stab of pain rush through her abdomen as she was practically skewered on the hunters weapon. She gritted her teeth against the flash of pain, cursing herself for not reacting sooner or even considering that this Ami would be different to the other one. She had been careless this time.

"Jacking....hell." She coughed, grabbed the edge of the spear and lifted it high into the air, hunter and all. "What the hell IS YOUR PROBLEM?!?!" She roared, swinging the end around a few times before slamming it into the side of the house wall.

One of Ami's weaknesses had always been her size. At a measly 5'2, she was easily thrown about like a ragdoll. Normally her spear compensated for reach, but when her spear was the thing being lifted, it was sort of pointless.

She gritted her teeth just as much as Pokerus did, struggling to stand up. "My problem is you," she spat, channeling her own FEAR and splitting her staff in half. "One that I'd like to eliminate."

She was gritting her teeth again, but for a reason other then pain. Poke was all for fights and battles, but fighting against a hunter was a hole different matter. The stakes were so much heavier. If she lost, she could be captured, but if she won, the hunter could be seriously injured. A bizarre thing to be worried about, but when she could come back any number of times from death and the humans could not...

The dragon frowned, hearing the absolute hatred in Ami's voice that nearly made her roll her eyes. Though deep down inside, she wondered at just what could of happened that would make the human ghoul resent her so.

She had a pretty good guess why.

Sadly she could not take it easy on Ami. She didn't have much of a choice if she wanted to keep her freedom. While the hunter was busy she charged forward in a reckless attack, her head lowered so she rammed into the others chest with her horns.

Caught between the horns of an angry dragon, Ami had no choice but to float according to the dragons whims. Junpei was screaming in her head to fight back, but it was hardly possible when this ridiculous girl was ramming her left and right.

"Keep fighting me. You'll never destroy us. One hunter is nothing," Ami gurgled from under Pokerus. Ami would never cry uncle- not to a monstrosity. "Your effort is useless."

The very words that Ami uttered made her flinch, her attack stopping long enough for her to look up at the hunter. There was anger, but it was more annoyed then 'I'ma kick ur a** b***h' rage that was displayed before.

"I'll never destroy you, what?" She said is half disbelief. "Ami what the jack are you on? Who said I was about to destroy you? I'm pissed off that you shoved a spear through my gut. I'm not about to take down the jacking hunter race.

Ami used Pokerus' momentary reprisal to slam her club into the girl, pinning her in the stomach while holding the blade part of the glaive up to Pokerus' neck.

It was then that Ami realized what the girl was blathering about. To that, Ami let out a cold, empty laugh. "You think we're friends? You think that illusion was real?" She took the blade and carefully sliced along Pokerus' neck; not enough to kill or cause immense suffering, just enough for the dragon to feel the blade tiptoe across her skin. Ami had control so precise that the blade never dipped into the girl's skin.

"Hear me now, dragon. The Ami you knew is dead. No ... that wouldn't be accurate. She never lived. She never existed." She looked at Pokerus with a grin that could've rivaled the doctor's. "Do you understand?"

And suddenly she was pinned up against a wall, the club again digging into the spot where she had been stabbed before. Blood was starting to pool in the area as Poke looked Ami square in the eye.

It was safe to say though, she didn't look too impressed. The annoyed look was back as Ami pointed out this wasn't fantasy land. She had already figured that part out. Though she wasn't the same Ami, at least she recalled those memories.

It was clear that this one was trying to intimidate her. The knife certainly hurt, but she wasn't actively digging into her neck nor cutting off her ability to breathe so it wasn't that bad really. The grin did nothing either.

"...Ami are you trying to be Caelius?" She asked, sounding a little bored even. "Cause it's not working."

With those words, she brought her boots up to kick Ami up into the air, following that up with a high powerful blast of water.

The more Pokerus said her name, the more annoyed Ami grew. A Halloween creature shouldn't have had the right to that information. It was unnerving, knowing that one knew her name and machinations.

Unfortunately for Poke, Ami was a waterbender. Though the initial kick hurt, she redirected the water with her own FEAR, and send out a wave of her own energy from Junpei. The water was laced with golden energy as it slammed into Pokerus with twice the force she'd hit Ami with.

She held her side gently. That was going to bruise in the morning. Goddammit.

There was something humiliating about being hit with your own attack, not to mention your own element as well. Poke had no time to get out of the way as she was pummeled with a strike much more powerful against her own, slamming her against the wall and leaving her to slump down it.

She coughed, wiping away the blood that formed on her mouth. Getting up was agony, and she was sure a rib or two had just been broken. Of course Ami was standing like nothing had happened.

The dragon said nothing, growling with determination as she lunged forward, ignoring the pain as she leaped forward with her claws outstretched to slash at the hunter.

The claws were deflected off the shaft of her glaive, which had now reconnected to form her full spear. At first she'd been shaky, but now she was switching between weapons fluidly as though she'd begun with a glaive that split in half.

"What, don't like water?" she cooed, spinning the spear so the bottom club jammed Pokerus in the stomach. "Where's all the bravado?"

It was becoming harder to fight with every blow she received, and by now she was pretty sure Ami was just toying with her. Taking it nice and slow to draw it out before she tore her apart. She went to slash, but felt the butt of the spear right in her abdomen once more.

She fell to the ground, kneeling over the injury as Ami taunted her. She was unable to answer the hunter as the latest attack just made her cough up more blood.
