Enrollment Daydreaming was a delightful pasttime, but it was far easier to shirk her duties when the source of her distraction was right outside the window of the office where Selene should have been filing applications. She'd done one or two, but at some point, she'd drifted off, staring fondly at a bird's nest that rested on the windowsill. Just as she'd started to lose focus, one of the eggs hatched. Then another. They were hatching right in front of her eyes! The miracle of life was happening right in front of her, and she hitched her breath and held her hands clasped in front of her in delight. Crack. Crrrack. Crack! Selene let out the tiniest squeak of joy when she saw something peeking out of the first egg, and then the others followed directly after, as the contents of the egg burst forth and uncurled to reveal...!! Three tiny application forms. Selene slumped, took all three of the forms, and dejectedly fed them to the bin before getting back to work.

Nicknames: May, Maya, Ya-Ya, birdbrain, birdbutt, chicken wings (don't call her these. It'll make her sad :C)
Gender: Female
Age: 16
Faction: Monster
Race: Harpy - Bird of Paradise
Natural Ability: Shape-shift Outside of school, she has the ability to change her feathered arms into fully-formed wings, giving her the ability to fly higher and move faster, and will mainly use her talons to attack when in this form.
Personality: Bubbly and cheerful, she tends to be clingy to those she likes, which can be just about anyone. She often acts like a child, where she tends to express her emotions openly. She might burst into song and dance when she's happy, and will throw tantrums if she's upset/doesn't get her way. She also trusts easily, sometimes TOO easily, and even if she has been betrayed or used, she'll make up excuses, believing that there is a reason behind it, that they had no choice, refusing to believe that others may be using her just for their own benefit.
She tends to mix up reality with fantasy, sometimes believing/wanting something strong enough to consider that the reality rather than the actual truth, which can end up irritating others, and hurting her in the long run. But she believes that if you truly want something enough, it can happen.
More of a strange quirk than anything, she has a penchant for collecting shiny baubles and trinkets, and can tend to be... quite possessive of them (magpie syndrome idek). Also has a hoard of phoenix hatchlings she likes to run/fly around with.
Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy? Despite their fearsome image, Mayaa... is anything but scary, preferring to play around and make others smile. Because of this, her parents decided to send her off to Amityville to try and teach her what it means to be scary.
FEAR Ability: Screech- If thoroughly upset, Mayaa will let out a piercing screech, and her attacks are more frenzied with the adrenaline rush. (Battle Cry)

Hair Colour/Style: Short-cropped auburn brown that fades to blonde. It only goes up to her shoulders, and the ends are wavy.
Skin Colour: Tan/Brown

Extra: Her hairpiece was a gift from her mother and father.

Growth Requirements
Year 1 to Year 2: *( There is a 4 month IC cooldown from Y1 to Y2)
50 growth points + final exam (pass or fail) = graduation to Year 2
Year 2 to Year 3: *(There is a 6 month IC cooldown from Y2 to Y3)
75 growth points + final exam (pass or fail) + teacher battle (pass or fail) = graduation to Year 3
Year 3 to Alumni: *TBA
100 growth points + final exam (pass or fail) + teacher battle (pass only) = graduation from Amityville Academy

You earn 1 point for every:
- One piece of fanart drawn OR commissioned by you for anything related to the shop. (max 5 points per year this way)
- One complete RP; you must have written at least 800 words in that RP for it to count as a point.
- One complete classroom RP; you must have written at least 800 words in that RP for it to count as a point.
- One complete homework assignment for a class that assigned it.
-----NOTE: For 'homework' that involves growing a minipet from a class, you must do an RP or solo (of at least 800 words) involving that pet to get a point. Merely growing the minipet does not count!
- One complete battle, with just rolls (800 word count not required)
- Five minipets grown to their final stage. You get one point for every five minipets; you can claim a maximum of 5 points per year this way.
- One complete solo, at least 800 words long
You earn 2 points for every:
- One complete battle RP; must have filled-out RP actions, not just dice rolls.
- Character 'plot assistance' (ie for events)
- One complete GM'd classroom rp
You may earn ??? points for:
- Special events run by GMs may have point prizes for participants; to claim these in your tally, make sure to link to the post where points were awarded. Be sure to also link to your post that fulfills the requirements on the tally.
You may earn bonus points for:
- EXTREEEEEEME! WORDCOUNT! Those who choose to write particularly prolifically - perhaps an involved solo plotline, or a very involved single RP, may earn bonus points. You can get +1 bonus rp point for every 10k words you write in a single RP/solo, up to 50k words. (So the most you could get from any RP/solo would be 6 points: +1 for over 800 words, +1 more when you hit 10k, and +1 more point for every 10k you hit after that point.) Please note that GM/event ORPs do not count for these bonuses.
