As Selene slid another application into the bin, a second piece of paper was spit out of it, falling into her lap. She picked it up and bent in closely to read, as there was rather a lot of fine print, but the end of the paper had a very clear area for her signature.
In tiny, tiny letters, she read something about it asking her for her soul gem, and signing a contract.
She flickered her eyes up to the bin, which had grown two very eerie red eyes, and was staring at her unblinkingly.
The paper was given to a gnome later that day, who signed a contract and was transformed into a beautifully dressed, yet still somehow hairy, little magical gnome.

Various sounds of construction could be heard from within this dorm, along with the occasional"OW!"of one very indecisive ghoul. Bursts of dark-colored magic seem to float like graveyard mist from beneath the door, as heavy-sounding furniture was moved, kicknacks thudded to the ground, and light almost-curses were muttered from the witch that resided within. Maybe it would be better to come another time...
•Natural Ability:Basic Magic: Thanks to her new wand, Rhiannon has a better focus on her spellcasting, enabling her to create a greater amount of elemental magic (a bucket of water, small fire...) and lifting/enchanting anything smaller than a chair.
•Personality:
"... What?" • ... of very few words: It's not that she won't talk to anyone, its that she isn't the type of who would walk up to someone and start a conversation... She is normally seen at the perimeter of the crowd, watching and listening instead of in the middle of the action. If you talk to her in a 'normal' setting, you'll find that the conversation is mostly one-sided.
"'What am I doing?' Just drawing..." •Creative: She spends a lot of time by herself and needed a positive way to channel her emotions, which means she devotes her attention to creative endeavors like sketching, trying new media, and accessory making (some of which she sells on Eeeksy for extra silver seeds). It is not uncommon for you to see her behind some bookshelf or in the corner of a rarely used hallway listening to her EyePod, drawing in a sketchbook.
*A small argument breaks out down the hallway. The sounds seem to worry her for some reason.* •Averse to unnecessary violence: She is hesitant to attack anything unless absolutely necessary or if they are considered a threat. Her biggest 'berserk button' is when it is in the form of bullying. She had been a part of a group of mean-spirited scarelings, who's favorite sport was to criticize and pick on others. Even though she was not the one doing the bullying directly, she still feels as if she is guilty of the crime. There was a time when she had had enough of their hurtful words and 'rescued' someone from them.
She was laughing. Her friends were laughing with her, their faces lit with terrible glee. They were at a lavish party, dressed beautifully in expensive jewelry and the finest outfits created for royalty. In the center of their circle, the undead ghoul cried, her blue eyes wide with fear.
"Stop..." She pleaded weakly.
"Where did you find that dress? From the garbage pile?" A boil snickered.
"Of course not," another ghoul chimed in, "it was stolen from her grandmother!" This elicited even more laughter from the group.
"My mommy made this for me..." She whispered softly, her heart shattering before Rhiannon's eyes. Her own laughing died in her throat. Her friends teased the girl even more.
"Your family must be homeless for something like that."
"I bet she was only invited because they felt sorry for her."
The ghoul fell to her knees and sobbed, completely broken. Rhiannon couldn't take it anymore, she had to stop them. She leapt to the ghoul's side, spreading her arms out to defend her.
"STOP!" She yelled angrily. Her heart raced with adrenaline, and her eyes narrowed into defiance. Her friends gasped with surprise. They glared at her, waiting for her to fight. Neither side did.
"Whatever...," spat a boil, as he turned to leave. The others followed suit, each one giving her dirty looks before leaving her. She knelt down to the ghoul on the floor, helping her up.
"What's your name?" She smiled. The ghoul looked at her with red-rimmed eyes wide with hope.
"Annalise..."
Rhiannon has since felt the need to defend the victim, regardless of personal factors.
"Um, do you mind? I'm busy." •Socially Inept: (Also can be read as 'extremely shy'.) After rebelling against her old clique and her only true friend's move, the time Ri spent alone had hardened her and made her distrusting of others, causing her to withdraw into her own world. Because she’s only been with her ex-friends since she could remember, she doesn’t know how to make new ones. It might not be such a big challenge for her to overcome, if it weren't for the real reason she's not very warm or fuzzy: she's actually really shy. And having only her books, sketchbook, and EyePod as constant companions, she’s forgotten how to really interact and connect with others, always making an excuse to escape conversation or to avoid it entirely to save herself the embarrassment.
•Extra:
- The act of defiance towards her only friends made her an outcast, and alone, she realized how shallow she had been and promised she would never become one of them again.
- Rhiannon is normally reserved, but if she has the chance to defend someone or to fight for what she believes in, she will run headfirst into battle.
•Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy? Because she has to, they have a great library and better art supplies...? No? Oh, okay. Ri is enrolled in Amityville to further her education in the arts and to be taught the ways of the Reaper, and she hopes to find new friends. She also hears there's many more fashion designers and artists she's never even heard of somewhere else and of course, everyone knows you have to go to Amityville to learn anything about that.
•FEAR Ability: Grief [Double-Take]- When effective, opponent is affected with the feeling of despair, transferred to them by her emotions (and may be helped by their own unhappiness); may cause target to lose a turn so that she may strike again. [Tier 2]
Soul Shatter [Battle Cry]- When effective, Ri can use her wand to fire off a single powerful magic blast in the form of a sphere. [Tier 1]
Double Take By focusing their Fear, users of this particular art can empower themselves to deliver two powerful attacks in rapid succession. Of course, being able to hit anything is another story all together.
Tier Two:
Dice: 4d8 First Two Dice: Add the first two dice and subtract 6. This is the damage of the first attack. Last Two Dice: Add these two dice together and subtract 6. This is the damage of your second attack.
The Battle Cry The most basic offensive Fear attack. The Battle Cry enables its user to deal higher-than-usual damage without a drawback. The only drawback is being able to fire it off properly.
Tier One: Dice: 4d4 First Dice: xxxxx 1: Miss xxxxx 2: Half Damage xxxxx 3-4: Full Damage Damage: Add up remaining dice. This total is the damage dealt to your opponent. Average Damage: 8

In a nutshell: roleplay allows your student to advance through Amityville Academy. Roleplay and other types of shop participation will give you growth points; once you've obtained a certain number of growth points, you can apply for your student to enter the next year! You do not need an art upgrade to begin RPing your student as having moved up a year - the only thing you need is to have met the requirements and passed the assigned exam.
In order for your student to move up to a new year, you must keep track of your growth points in your character's dorm room thread - provide links to document everything, as we will be checking when you submit your student for advancement! It is your responsibility to accurately tally and claim your growth points.
Also, note that when your student moves up to a new year, all the growth points they earned to that point vanish. Everyone starts each new year with a clean slate.
Exception: Once you reach Y3, your growth points do not get wiped when you graduate - only the ones you 'spend' on the graduation requirement itself. You can use additional points to 'purchase' extra bonuses for your character as seen here!
Growth Points:
You earn 1 point for every: - One piece of fanart drawn OR commissioned by you for anything related to the shop. (max 5 points per year this way) - One complete RP; you must have written at least 800 words in that RP for it to count as a point. - One complete classroom RP; you must have written at least 800 words in that RP for it to count as a point. - One complete homework assignment for a class that assigned it. -----NOTE: For 'homework' that involves growing a minipet from a class, you must do an RP or solo (of at least 800 words) involving that pet to get a point. Merely growing the minipet does not count! - One complete battle, with just rolls (800 word count not required) - Five minipets grown to their final stage. You get one point for every five minipets; you can claim a maximum of 5 points per year this way. - One complete solo, at least 800 words long
You earn 2 points for every: - One complete battle RP; must have filled-out RP actions, not just dice rolls. - Character 'plot assistance' (ie for events) - One complete GM'd classroom rp
You may earn ??? points for: - Special events run by GMs may have point prizes for participants; to claim these in your tally, make sure to link to the post where points were awarded. Be sure to also link to your post that fulfills the requirements on the tally.
You may earn bonus points for: - EXTREEEEEEME! WORDCOUNT! Those who choose to write particularly prolifically - perhaps an involved solo plotline, or a very involved single RP, may earn bonus points. You can get +1 bonus rp point for every 10k words you write in a single RP/solo, up to 50k words. (So the most you could get from any RP/solo would be 6 points: +1 for over 800 words, +1 more when you hit 10k, and +1 more point for every 10k you hit after that point.) Please note that GM/event ORPs do not count for these bonuses.
Growth Requirements:
Year 1 to Year 2: *( There is a 4 month IC cooldown from Y1 to Y2) 50 growth points + final exam (pass or fail) = graduation to Year 2
Year 2 to Year 3: *(There is a 6 month IC cooldown from Y2 to Y3) 75 growth points + final exam (pass or fail) + teacher battle (pass or fail) = graduation to Year 3

Knight: Aurora Rosenthorn (Blue faction) Appearance: -Build: Slim, but fit. Average-short height. -Hair: Sandy blond-colored in long layers. Is usually tied back in a ribbon. -Eyes: Pink -Clothing: Simple but elegant. (Lace is a favorite accent of hers.) Is known to wear skirts. Personality: Cheerful and sweet, Aurora is very much an optimist. Learning from her herbalist mother and blacksmith father, she enjoys nature, has a way with animals, and is a firm believer in the power of patience and hard work.
