Background: Avery comes from a fairly rich family who own a trading company. Being an only child, she was often left alone while they were at meetings and conferences leaving Avery to take care of herself. Avery was very often mistaken for a boy (much to her annoyance) due to her flat chest, short hair and unisex name. Fearing she would be kidnapped and held ransom while they were away, they sent her to Gallagher in order to be safe and learn valuable skills. Because the life of an agent is very safe indeed.
