In the monster dorms, there was a unanimous vote to let the Furnace Dog take a room towards the middle of the dorms in order to cut down on the heating bill required to heat specific rooms. On the other side of campus, the undead dorm unanimously voted on an approval to equip some of its more sensitive-to-fire students with fire extinguishers in the event that said furnace dogs discovers the classroom-made invention known as a "spitball."

A race of lava-laced canines that climbed straight out from the maw of hell, their pelts are dark or ashed, teeth as strong as obsidian and every step meticulously chosen. Their pelt opens up in gaping holes that they call vents - seeping out a heat so intense at times that it could dry ground (or so they say), they are considered a driving life-force for the canines, keeping their bodies in tune with the lava that courses through their veins. Their paws are lithe and thin, boasting a thumb, in order to work their magic.
In the middle of their chest holds their most important vent, as large as their snout, and nearly goes straight to their heart. To damage this vital part of this race is to enough to be considered a death sentance for the dog, so they've evolved further by creating clasps to defend such a serious weak spot.
Originally considered a demonic race, they evolved with the world around them, finding a niche in smelting - and so they've learnt how to adapt to the changing world, and pockets of the race have opted the nomadic bartering life, taking the highroad in offering and selling precious metals and jems - with the option of breaking it down and building it back up. Delicious and artistic at the same time.
They still have issues with the rogue aggressor straying from the norm - the fires of the earth drawing through their veins and driving them wild, but they're usually subdued when they can.
Personality: To sum Eldrid up, it would easy to say he's a saavy bargainer. He has spent most of his childhood keeping any temper under wraps - and has come out as someone with a calm voice, and calmer head. Everything is said once and thought twice when it comes to the way he acts. He is Passionate, with a capital P when it comes to things he wants and desires. If you have something he wants, he will try his best to get it from you, he'll even try to charm the pants off you.
But it's not like he doesn't have his blow ups, his leash is long, but when it snaps, he can and will jump for throats, his gravelly voice almost taken on the boom of the mountains that he and his family had evolved from. It can take him a while to cool down after an explosion, and usually has to sit out to the side until he's cooled down long enough to smoke out the issues.
He is a little sensative about volcano or fire jokes - he's just kind of heard them all by now. You can call him a sore sport about it, he's used to it. He's also very sensitive about the lava he oozes/seeps/drools, always worried that it will harm another student. He tries to keep his distance, but being such a people person, he's trying to get over himself.
Lava Spit: For lack of fancy words, it's exactly what it sounds like - with so much excessive lava in his body, he uses his saliva as a weapon, forcing his system to generate more lava and using it as a projectile. Not having used this much as a youth, his aim is not the greatest, and could use more practice/training in this art, so that he can honestly consider it a brute force.

Eldrid Ofenhund has a minor obsession with dragonkits. Only a small one. Tiny obsession. (Arbalest and Draco came first Wisp, Miser, Spice and Middy came after, with others.)
A man of discerned taste, he has a sweet tooth for electroswing, and music that was created years before he was born. He dabbles in different genres and languages also - but he's a sucker for something that just makes him want to pick someone up and dance the night away with.
