Now she'd gone and lost Frost too. It wasn't completely unfathomable- after all, White was a fluffy blue and white mass and they were walking through a white and grey mass. Soon even the red dots he had for eyes disappeared in the mist.
"Hello?" she called in the emptiness, utter loneliness responding back. She pulled Rikki's jacket around her chest closer, shivering in the insanity mist. Though she'd attempted to preserve it, eventually survival came first and she slit the back open, allowing her to put it around her back too. It was her only connection to anyone in the nothingness. Every once in a while she would glance around, as though people were watching her, and when her sight found no one, she would bury her nose in the hood, pretending that Rikki was still out here with her.
But she didn't wish that. She hoped Roch and Rikki and Demi had made it home to safety, and weren't out here blundering in the insanity. Maybe she'd be lonely that they didn't chase after her, but it was far more important that they be home and safe. Not like Yin.
A shiver went down her spine as she recalled the mantis. He was quicker, stronger, physically more adept as an insanity monster, but he was also heartless, and cold. The image of Poke's head being snapped off wouldn't go away, the squish not leaving her mind. If Danny was being truly honest with herself, she was scared. Scared and alone.
She tried once more, though she knew her voice would only reach silence. As long as she was out here, she had to try. "Anyone?"

Danny didn't have time to react to the figure as the guitar slammed into her stomach and captured her attentions entirely. She stumbled backwards, tripping over her own feet and landing on her behind. A groan escaped her mouth as she could practically feel the bruise forming.
The bruise was the least of her worries as she looked up though. What she'd thought was maybe a tendril of mist or the arm of an insanity brute turned out to be the guitar of her best friend. She stared in horror as he formed in front of her. She knew the shape practically better than her own. The mohawk, the belts- It was Roch.
"Not you," Danny spat, a mixture of sadness and anger filling her voice. Though it was nonsensical, Danny was cursing Roch in her head. How dare he let himself be taken by the insanity? It wasn't fair to her. It wasn't fair to Amphi, to Amrita, to everyone that was counting on him. It wasn't ******** fair.
She lurched forward to punch him straight in the jaw- as if that would actually do anything- but chains rattled across her path to trip her, and a blade struck down her shin to make her bleed. She knew these chains as well as she knew the mohawk. Afternoons were spent playing with them, being wrapped up in them. They were home- and Rikki echoed it vocally moments later. She didn't even want to look at him, didn't want to see him like that. She didn't want to sully the image of Rikki as she knew him with the tinted grey mist of insanity.
There on the ground she didn't make any effort to move. What was the point? The two people she loved most were gone, afflicted. Danny was dumb, but even she knew Jericho hadn't come back yet. Riley was still here, but she wasn't the same. Anyone with insanity was considered a goner. She'd tried to deny it with Mei and Yin, but she was done. Her breath came out in ragged gasps as a numb, almost peaceful clarity took over. It was cold, and she was tired. "Fine," she whispered. A part of her cracked, and she gave up for the first time in her life. "Just let me go." Anything was better than this. Dissipating was better than this.
