I don't know if anyone else has this problem.. but I can NOT read the books that we need to read in order to pass the course! I mean, I like reading with it's something I like to read about.. but this book, Huckleberry Finn is actually starting to drive me insane! I really don't know what it is.. It's almost like.. I can't focus on the words on the page. I went to go see an eye doctor, but he said that I have no need for glasses!
Any advice at this point would be helpful!!!

Ugh I had to read Tom Sawyer last semester and I HATED it! One of the worst/boringest books I have ever been forced to read.
But as for a solution. My younger brother is a very slow reader and hates reading so my mom will usually buy him the audio book. Now he listens to it on his laptop or in the car or even though the dvd player in the house.
She gets hers from Ebay for less then $10. It just takes a couple days to get it. You could probably find it at a local bookstore.?

I almost never like the books assigned for class but you just got to push through and read it. An audio book is a good idea if you can't focus on the words, or make some one read it to you... that may be weird though...

Never had to read Tom Sawyer... always been tempted to read it though. That and Gulliver's Travels... I did have a problem with the Lord of the Flies and another book. Had to try to force myself to read that book. ._.
However majority didn't mind them, Hamlet was pretty good albiet depressing. Where The Red Fern Grows... was probably my favorite out of all of the books that I was assigned to read. It was soo good, very sad. Even my sister loved it and she doesn't do reading.
Then again... I've always loved reading and still do to this day. sweatdrop

I personally liked Tom Sawyer >_< maybe I am just a nerd like that! I would defintely suggest reading the audio book... I do it allt he time when I have to read "dry" books. Check out booksshouldbefree.com (or something like that) I am 99% sure they have it there. It isn't illegal its just that the license for old books like that have expired so it officially belongs to the public!!!

Actually, Huck Finn wasn't so bad. I liked it. Especially Tom Sawyer's character, xD
