So after reading up on some other stores within the company I work for, I thought it would be fun to share some horror stories of cashiers just not keeping it together.

Granted, most of mine have to deal with foods. >o>

For example, I went to Panera once and the two running the bakery area managed to get everyone's order out except my mothers and mine. Waiting made us a bit late and I asked for a refund since I didn't want to wait any longer. They refused and began to put our order together.

While driving to our destination, I filled out their survey and gave them 0s. I also called the store and talked to the manager letting him know what had happened. He asked for us to come back but I told him I had already wasted enough time there.

--
The only time I ever called corporate was when my mother ordered some smoothie drink from McDonalds, paid for it and then was told that the machine was broken and she would have to wait 15 minutes. She was in the drive through at the time (and I dunno, to me people that are in the drive through tend to have places to be and don't want to wait but IDK). She said that she would rather not wait and asked for a refund. After the cashier arguing with her, she finally got the manager... who refunded her the wrong drink and gave her less than what she paid for.

Being that I absolutely hate that fast food chain, I called corporate and explained what had happened. I then went back to the place and got the full refund (and I think some coupons for free stuff). This was actually the same one that made me stop going years ago. So, I was a bit... blunt about what I had to say to them. I never did get an answer to my questing of "why offer a drink if it isn't available?"

--

For my last one, I'm sad to say that its from a store I used to work at. None of the people I knew were there at the time. But that shouldn't matter. I always try to treat people with respect but wow. I was looking for some toy for my cousin's kid. It had been awhile since I was at the store and I didn't see it in that section. All I wanted to know is if the other store had it or if there were some in back.

So I hit the help button.

And no one came. e.e In fact, they just let it ring for five minutes. I gave up waiting and started walking up to the front where customer service is (its the only place I know for sure someone that works there will be). On my way there, I saw someone that did work there.. he was on his phone. And when I tried to get his attention, he ignored me and pointed to where the service area was.

Legit WTF moment right there. Like, you can't put your phone down for one ******** minute to get me some information? Dude. What the hell in wrong with you???

At that point, I was like like w/e and stormed out of the store. I sent a text message to my old manager telling her that I thought her cashiers were complete shits and the reasons behind it. <<;; I haven't been back to that store (even though its closer to me) since then. I just go to the other store since it seems like they're more willing to help people.

What about the flip side of it? As in, the horror stories of BEING cashiers?

Because I got a few good'uns from when I worked the concession stand at a Regal Movie Theater. Also from Pizza Hut...OH GOD, Taking phone calls at Pizza Hut was the worst.

Well in that case. Don't you love it when people ACT like something isn't possible just because they're lazy? Like, you ask for something with a side of...I dunno...banana sauce or some silly thing that you've done plenty of times before and this ONE person just doesn't want to take the extra minute so they're like "NO, We don't do that."

b***h. They did it last week.

I have that problem with my bank sometimes. Tellers try and tell me I can't do s**t that ALLLLL the other tellers do for me every week. Dumb sluts.

As a cashier I've had my share of awful customers but I've never really had many issues with cashiers at other places.
The few times I got crabby cashiers was at the movie theater. Augh... teenagers workin' at the concessions stand. I got this girl with a total bitchy attitude last time I bought an overpriced bottle of water. Nothin' she said just how she acted.
The one that irked me the most was the guy that tossed my card back at me on the counter top. Dude! I was nice enough to hand you the card ....the least you can do is hand it back to me. There have been sooooo many times that people have done that to me when payin' for things and eeeeevery time I have to fight the urge to toss it back. It's just that thing ya learn when yer a cashier.....actin' nice. 'Cause I'm just there for the paycheck. I hate people.
Bah! I'm goin' back to sneakin' in my own bottle of water and candy in my purse when I go to the theater. emotion_donotwant

oh yes. omg

I think some of them just don't know wtf they're doing and just say they can't do it.

Because clearly if you haven't heard of it, it means that it doesn't exist at your store.

This reminds me of when I worked at toys r us. This one idiot wouldn't do layaways. Like, legit would tell people no. Why? Because he couldn't be bothered enough to either learn or find someone that knew how. emotion_facepalm

I always bring my own water and snacks. >> lmao

And I don't think I've had anyone throw my card back at me. Cashiers have placed it on the counter and that's always annoying. x.x Same with money. WHY WOULD YOU PUT THAT s**t ON THE COUNTER?

I'm mentally punching them in the face as I scoot the change into my hand every single time.

Heh. I sneak in my own snacks most of the time but every once in a while I buy somethin' from the concessions stand. Mostly in support of the people that work there. I would hate to work at a theater mostly because of havin' to clean up after people. (free movies would be nice though) But after all the crappy customer service I've been gettin' I think I'll stop buyin' from them. Although I've never had a bad experience at the small independent theaters I go to in the city. Those places are awesome.
Ugh yeah he really did toss the card back. He tossed it on the counter towards me hard enough that it skipped. I think I gave him a brief dirty look but he didn't seem fazed. He had this grumpiness about him that gave me the impression he got called in for work on his day off and totally didn't want to be there. Well tough cookies dude. Ya still gotta be nice to the customers. That's yer job! scream

Mentally punchin' people in the face is a great way to relieve stress. ...and kickin' obnoxious children. emotion_awesome

Damn. I would have given him a dirty look too. :<

I so don't miss being called in all the damn time at my old job. XP I always hated it because I so knew that the people working there pulled a 24 hour stomach virus and ran off to the lake. :/

There were kids today that I wish I could have kicked.

And this one woman let her kid nom on one of our heels.

ooooh I hate that. I remember this one guy that called out sick a few times......and judgin' from what we knew about him it was probably a hang over. I think one of the reasons he was fired was because he was caught drinkin' a beer on his lunch break XD

I have to deal with families that let their lil kids chew on the plush toys to distract them. Not all of them buy the toy.......they just put it back. Ooooooooh how I hate to pick up a toy only to realize it's daaaamp. eeewwww~ not cool maaaan. gonk

although my personal favorite was findin' the scented candle with the lil bit taken out of it. emotion_facepalm

I work at a casino in customer service, and holy ********, my customers are the greediest, rudest, most detestable people on the planet. But I'm usually nice to them; I mean, I don't mind most of them because I'm usually blazed, so listening to little old Chinese ladies complain about not being allowed to get free food is actually funny, not annoying. Some of the staff that b***h about the customers, though, s**t man, they act like they've never worked with people before neutral

I haven't had experience with really, really dreadful cashiers. Although there are quite a few in the shops around here who aren't very good at customer service. The kind who stand behind the till talking to the other cashiers and ignoring the customers who are waiting to pay for their stuff. Then when they finally decide that they can spare a couple of minutes to serve the customer, they act as though it is a huge inconvenience. There was one who continued talking to her friend when I was trying to buy things, and didn't even look at me except when she told me how much to pay. Really, I found that quite a bit more annoying than I should have.

Costumers for me and my dad we aren't cashiers but my dad likes to say something when a costumer is doing something bad here.Like,in the supermarket when people take a lot of groceries in the express line. The cashiers don't say anything about it here because people get pissed of about it,but I'm mean really people the express line is for 10 or 15 articles less people go wait with all you're groceries in the long lines there are some of us that are buying a few things and making is us wait in the express line because you're in a rush to leave is BS

Oh and people that talk on there Cellphones or make a cashier wait because they don't have all there money ready or card on hands. My Dad has trained me well rofl

I'm a cashier. And yesterday a woman ordered a pizza item we didn't have ready. So I told her it would be a bout ten minutes on it (before she paid for it). She said alright. Then she waited. (It did take ******** ten minutes, because that's how the ******** oven works). Right when her item was about to come out--she threw a fit, asking for her money back. I was like "But, ma'am, your food is right here? Oh... ok... then... I'll get the manager I guess." So I got the manager.

And she got refunded for the s**t that just came out of the oven.

People are retarded.
