There was a first, There will be a last, The days of our youth are things of our past, But it seems that we just never let them pass.
I prayed to a God who I didn't know, That nothing would happen, that my youth wouldn't go, I suppose, that prayer was silly, it just goes to show.
I guess I just did not obey, The laws of life cause you didn't stay, There are no words to explain the rage I cannot convey.
Some people might say I am a child, But those people are just in denial, They wish they had the freedom that I do.
But sometimes I wish freedom was gone, That all were the same, that none were wrong, But then what would life be but just far too long.
So the next time that you call me a child, Just sit back and think for a while, About the child and the life they've led so far.
And yes, I may only be young, You don't know me or what I've done, So none can judge this life that I love.
And if you disagree with me, For those who just refuse to agree, I guess that's who they are for the world to see.
