Fool-proof way to get on the front page of Deviant Art.

Due to DA's recent...reorganization of what appears as "most popular", there is a cheat to getting on the front page. However, it requires fanart because fanart is most likely to garner a ton of faves in a few hours. (sadly).

1. Draw fanart from something popular, so Hetalia, Homestuck, or MLP is good.
2. Make sure that the picture will look flashy at a smaller size.
3. Upload the art and (the most important thing here) choose an obscure category for it. That's right, submit it to the wrong category! It must be obscure, such as "Artisan Crafts/Glass/Lights & Prisms" or "Traditional Art/Street Art/Wheatpasting".
4. After you upload it, start submitting it to every freaking group you can find on the subject of your fanart and then digital art groups and so on. SUBMIT THAT b***h EVERYWHERE.
5. Enjoy!

I'm going to draw some Homestuck fanart and test this. Apparently, the DA admins wanted to give light to "less popular categories" and put a handicap on fan art, anime and digital art categories from appearing on the front page. However, there are people who are doing my methods and getting on the front page. Since it is extremely easy to become popular in these obscure categories, it makes your picture instantly go on the first couple pages.

yeah, you made it on the front page, congrats. but literally the worst people on deviantart are going to be seeing it

It's the quickest way to get some attention and viewers...

I dunno what you do after that other than...having a lot of people see your art. If you're interested in doing commissions, people pay big bucks for "popular artists" or whatever. You kinda have to give up a lot to be popular...because fanart (or getting hired by WotC, a game studio, etc.) is the only way.

I guess if you're really serious about art, then DA isn't the place.

Yep that'll do it. Make sure the lighting is terrible too.
