Saint Nic. (or St. Nicholas) Is like what Canadians and Americans Call "Santa Clause" It means "Holy" and "Victory of the people". Nikolaos of Myra was a 4th century Saint and Greek Bishop of Myra (formally known as present day Turkey) In Lycia. He was known as "The wonderworker" because he gave gifts such as putting coins in the shoes left out for him by the people. Thus, he became Modern day Santa Clause.
