Any members of the guild that live in Merseyside? I was born in Liverpool (Mill Lane if you care for details) but now I live in Birkenhead.. are there any others out there?

*sighs, then holds up hand* I'm from Liverpool. More's the pity, I hate it here and can't wait to move out... ^^; The best thing about this city's the football. (Everton all the way!)

aww how can you hate it? I cant wait to move away either.. but you still have to love your home town dont you? Where abouts in Liverpool do you live? (p.s. I'm not a major football fan but I'm an LFC supporter myself, mainly because of my dad's influence) Love the Killers quote in your sig by the way. I heart All These Things

^_^ Thanks, loads of people say they love The Killers after seeing my siggy.
I don't know, I just... don't like it. I don't like the people, the places, the accent (by God it goes through me) and everything else. xd
I live in Orrell Park, near Aintree. You know it?

I know of it... not too familiar though. I personally quite like the Liverpool accent. The Birkenhead accent is awful though (well it's ok as long as it isnt too strong.) There are some interesting things going on at the mo ,what with the city of culture thingymabob.. have you seen the new shopping mall they're building? Looks exciting 3nodding Have you ever seen Killers live? All These Things is absolutely amazing. I'm sure you can imagine what it's like when the whole crowd is singing "I got soul but I'm not a soldier" (was especially good the second time I saw them because that was at Glasto)

Would love to see The Killers live. One of my friends went, I was so jealous. stare And they're not bringing their new album out 'til, like, October or something. Or so it said in NME. evil
Nah, I hate our accent. I was sat on the train once, trying to work out whether these men were Russian or just speaking very strong Scouse. Turns out it was Scouse. ><
The Paradise Street shopping centre looks like it's going to be good, we're getting a Harvey Nichols, aren't we? Shame they're closing down Quiggins, though. And the new bus station's like miles away from anywhere else. stare

Isn't Quiggins moving to where John Lewis is? I only use the trains so I cant really complain about the bus station... didnt know we were getting a Harvey Nichols, that should be good 3nodding

Yeah, if they finish it in time. Which they won't. -_-
I think Quiggins is moving, but there's all the big fuss because it's some big historic building, isn't it? And so where's John Lewis going? *shakes head* It's all so confusing.

I heard that John Lewis is moving somewhere bigger and better (possibly in the new mall?) and Quiggins is going in their old building.... which would probably be better because there's more space for new shops... but it wouldnt have the same atmosphere somehow would it? I'll miss the cafe in Quigs if it does move, they'll prob make a rubbish modern one in the new building. I can see why they want to close it though, that staircase is a death trap sweatdrop

God yes, they're like at some kind of 45 degree slant, you can feel yourself slipping back down on 'em. ^_^ I know what you mean about the atmosphere, if they move it to the John Lewis building it'll lose all the mystery and everything. ^_^ It just has that aura around the place. And the smell. :O I wonder if it'll smell the same when they move? XD

lol who knows... I dont even know where that smell comes from.. is it the people? The stuff in the shops? Or just the building itself? My friend's nan fell down the stairs once.. luckily she wasnt seriously hurt but the damn things are potentially lethal

I've always wondered where the smell comes from, too. It's strange, I can just be out and about somewhere, and I'll get a whiff of Quiggins. So maybe it is the people...
