Hello everyone, I propose that we have ourselves an avatar contest for fun. I have been in a few, and would like to try my hand at running one this time.

Contest Format & Prize Pot

The contest will run for 10 rounds. The person with the highest cumulative score wins.

The Prize Pot

The prize pot is where all donations to the contest go. The prize pot will be distributed among the top 3 contestants, with the most money and/or items going to the winner.

If anyone would like to donate to the contest, please send a trade to me, labelled "Tektek contest donation". I acceopt money and items. Be sure to label your trade.. If you forget to label your trade, post here that it was a donation to the contest.

Rules For Contestants

1. Post all entries here. Please do not pm any to me.
2. Be a good sport.
3. You can edit your entry at any time, so long as it's within the deadline.
4. Please try to meet the deadline. If for any reason you know you will not be able to meet it, please post here, or pm me. All pms are confidential.
5. If You miss the dealine by over a week, and contact with you cannot be made, you will be kicked from the contest.
6. Feel free to chat and have fun here between contest rounds and judgings.
7. One entry per round. if you want to, make a few and choose your best (I would advise doing this) but only submit one as your entry.

Guidlines For Judges

1. PM all judgins to me. Do not post them here.
2. Please check the judging criteria and/or thought points that I may pm to you.
3. Be professional. If you don't personally like an avi, try to appreciate what the contestant is trying to achieve.
4. Ideally, please submit judgings within 3 - 7 days.
5. Do not rush your judging, I woud rather a late judging that an incompetent one.
6. PM me if you know you cannot meet a deadline.
7. If your judging has not been submitted withing 10 days, and I cannot make contact with you, the contest will proceed without your judging being submitted for that round. If this happens twice, you will be kicked from the contest.
8. All criticism must be constructive, so that the contestants can use to produce better avis in future rounds. No flaming or putting down contestants.

The Current Challenge

Round 4: "A map; a fire; a knife and a key". This is from Sucker Punch, which I've just seen (it's amazing!!), and these are the items the girls needed. The challenge is to take one of these items, and make an avi out of it. You could have an avi with the item, an avi who would use the item, or anything else. Just remember to be creative (: Good luck wink


Round 3 is cosplay avis smile Choose any character from an anime/game etc and make an avi of them. Be sure to inclued a reference picture when submitting your avi. Also, if you can do it in under 1,000,000 gold, you'll get 5 bonus points, and lose one for each million you go over. The deadline is the 5th of March. Good luck!


Here's round two: The elements. Another theme I have done a few times, but with a twist. Choose two elements and make your avi around them. Use only items that reflect these elements! Also, the following items may not be used in your avi:

1) Elemental wings
2) Elemental hair
3) Any items with the word "fire", "water", "air" or "earth" in their names. This includes brackets.

Each combination of elements can only be taken two times. Combinations in red have been taken once. Striked combinations can no longer be used.

Here's round 1 , which is a popular challenge in contests I've entered, and a nice one to ease you all in: colours.

I assigned each a number, rolled two dice and wrote the three down, apart from one (I will give bonus points for the first person to correctly guess which one I made myself. 1 guess per person).

Theme: The avi certainly looks like your reference pic, however I think that you could have done without the collar, not least because it's colour offsets the avi a little. There were alternatives such as the malice punk buckle scarf if you were using dream free. If not, it would probably have been better just to leave it out. [8/10]

Flow: The scythe does sort of offset this, however I tried editing your avi to use different poses of the same item, but they were even worse in this respect. Therefore I can't penalise you. [10/10]

Items: I am glad that you didn't take the easy way out and use the grim reaper item a second time to get the black skeleton. Apart from that, there isn't much to comment on. However, I do think that perhaps a purple aura/background like dark elf aura, shadow spirit or ghoul's acre would have helped capture the feel a little more, like in the reference pic. [9/10]

Extra: I like it, and there was so much that could've gone wrong here, and you never took the lazy way out. Good job smile [10/10]

Theme: Overall, very good, however the bard hairstyle would have been more in keeping with the pic than the one you used, and the face gives a different impression than it should. On the pic it looks more stern and serious. [8/10]

Flow: Very good overall. I like the way you positioned the sword so that it doesn't disrupt the avi very much, and the hair on the top helps to add some septh. Well done. [10/10]

Items: My only criticism is the locket. There is a gold one, and it would've been truer to your reference pic.I like the way you used a wide variety of different brands of item, but they all work perfectly together. [9/10]

Extra: Very good work. What anime is she from? It looks like one I'd like to watch smile [10/10]

Cost bonus points: Less than 1 million -> 5 points

4. 1The Dead Girl1:

Theme: Faultless smile Looks exactly like the pic barring a few details, which can't be done on tektek. [10/10]

Flow: The hair really adds to what would otherwise have been a rather boring, although effective, avi flow-wise. Thereofer, it's great work [10/10]

Items: There's a half-set used, the middle-school uniform and high-school uniform, although there were no alternatives so I can't really mark you down. [10/10]

Extra: Wow. I love it. I just have one criticism: She would have really suited a wink. [9/10]

Cost bonus points: Less than 1 milliom -> 5 points.

Total: 44/40

5. Beautifully_Nitemarish

Theme: I did need to go and look for other reference pics for the legs, but these have been done well. You could have went on to dream free and added black cross belts though, an that would have been more in keeping with the pic [9/10]

Flow: The boots make the avi look a little top heavy, although the little polar bear does go some way to offset this. [9/10]

Items: Nothing wrong here smile [10/10]

Extra: I like it. Very good job. [10/10]

Cost bonus points: Less than one million -> 5 points

Total: 43/40
