Name: Alessa Nicknames: N/A Gender: Female Age: 16
Faction/Race Monster/Nagual
Personality: Alessa is fiercely independent. Her ultimate goal in life is to be strong enough to take care of herself; a hard task for someone who turns into a nearly helpless bunny! She stubbornly refuses to ask for help in most instances and would prefer to struggle silently herself then get assistance. When given help, she often sulks or becomes grumpy, mostly out of frustration and embarrassment. To her, it just means she wasn't good enough to do it herself, which is terribly annoying.
She is also honest and opinionated to a fault. If she has a view on something, she'll make sure you know. She's never afraid to tell you how stupid you're being, but that also means she's more than willing to tell you of your skill or success if she sees it that way (as long as that doesn't somehow relate to HER failure!). Sometimes this can get her into verbal fights that can be difficult to reconcile, as she's terrible at apologies.
Interestingly enough, Alessa can get frightened pretty easily compared to some people. She tends to blame it on her animal form, but her reaction to her fear is...very unlike a rabbit. There more nervous or scared she comes, the more she talks. This would seem counter productive, because often in such situations all she can do is insult and criticize. She's extremely chatty on a regular basis, but somehow fear seems to motivate her to keep her mouth running.
While usually she scares at pretty standard things, Alessa has an extremely irrational fear of being eaten. This stems from a frightening encounter she had once while in her cuter-rabbit form where she was almost eaten by a wandering Monster. Sometimes, when stressed or upset, she'll have nightmares about it. Also, in instances where someone threatens to eat her, her reaction will range from a terrified nervousness (if it seems they're joking) to an absolute freak out.
Her favorite pass-time is cooking and baking. This is likely because it was the only thing she ever received any recognition for as she was moved from house to house among her relatives. She's very talented, especially in regards to pastries and sweets, and she tends to push goods on her friends (and sometimes strangers!) as she loves having other people eat what she makes. She refuses, however, to deal with meats. This stems from her animal form and her fear of being eaten.
Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy? After being passed from relative to relative, it was a bit of a relief when she was old enough to finally just go to school. Alessa is happy to be away from those who really didn't want her around and is determined to learn all that she can so that she can be self sufficient and independent.
FEAR: Helpless Aura - Alessa is able to use something similar to hypnosis, where she is able to make those around completely drop their guard. What it does is jars the attacker into, essentially, not wanting to harm her for a set moment in time. This can cause their attacks to either completely miss her or fumble so badly that they barely do her any harm at all. Currently the success rate of this ability is low, the duration short, and it is not something Alessa usually consciously performs. As she grows stronger the success rate may increase and it may last for longer periods of time.
Natural Ability: Animal Transformation and Exaggeration - Naguals are able to change into the respective animal represented by their birthday and can exaggerate, though not drastically alter, that form depending on their strength. (See later post for more detailed information)

History and Family: Alessa comes from a large family of Naguals and was unfortunate enough to be born on the day associated with rabbits. This was...embarrassing to say the least. Her father was a wolverine and her mother a mink, so you can imagine the shock of producing not only an herbivore, but a helpless one to boot. Once she was old enough to talk she was passed from relative to relative in an attempt to get rid of her without completely abandoning her. Briefly she resided with her second cousin Rudolpho, a stag Nagaul. Despite also being an herbivore, the strength of his animal still gave him a great amount of status over her that kept him from wishing to form any permanent attachments. He did, however, in their short time together teacher her to fight. He was only able to pass on the basics of different kicks, however, as she was terribly uncoordinated at anything else.
She stayed the longest with her great uncle Warren, who was the lowest ranking member of the family aside from herself. Being a mole Nagual, he liked to live in solitude and wasn't terribly good at taking care of himself. Although grumpy and full of nonsense to blather on about, he spent the most time with Alessa. In return for his odd tolerance of her Alessa helped to clean a bit, but mostly made him meals. The food she made was the only thing Warren ever praised. Once she was old enough to go off to school, though, he sent her there.

Shape Shifting: As a Nagual she is able to transform into the animal related to the day she was born. Because her day is that of the rabbit, she is able to take on the shape of one. This is not at all like a werewolf or other wereanimal, as the shape she takes starts off exactly like that of the actual animal. No thumbs, no long flowing hair, no humanoid features. She is, however, able to exaggerate that form depending on her strength. All Naguals can exaggerate their animal forms to an extent, but they can't fundamentally change it. For example, Alessa can currently make her rabbit form about the size of a beagle and make her claws longer, her teeth sharper, and her muscles more defined. She cannot do anything like sprout wings or go on two legs, though. She can, however, take on a few animal characteristics while in her human form, such as better hearing, etc. This can include up to a tail, but nothing like bunny ears or paws.
