Hello everyone,
Hopefully this is correct place for me to post this. If not, I apologize. As you've probably gathered from my topic, I'm new here. I'm a 23 year old guy (yes, I know I'm old. ~_~) from the States with an interest in all things British. I'm also a big fan of pro wrestling, MMA, anime, movies, vampires, martial arts, kick boxing and tons of other things.
I would enjoy meeting and making friends with others from Britain or anyone else with an interest in British culture. ^^ I look forward to meeting you all. And now, since it's after 5:30 AM here in the States, I'm off to sleep!

Haha, she's probably disillusioned. Too much New Labour and too many oxygen-thieves.
She may have a point though, most British culture is underneath it all just a little bit foreign. Like tea, and the Queen.

Being an American, I wouldn't know the difference I have to admit. ^_^;; But seriously, I always think of King Arthur as British even though (if I remember correctly) it has French roots. Timeless Visage I could have sworn there was an introduction thread. wink Oops. Sorry, I probably just missed it somehow.

Foetus In Fetu The British have culture now? Sure we do. British culture is driving your German car to an Irish pub for a Belgian beer, followed by an Indian curry or Turkish kebab. When we finally get home we sit on our Swedish furniture and watch American shows on our Japanese TVs. I love being British. xd

That, and my dad is a git.....

Foetus In Fetu The British have culture now? Don't tell me you washed and lost it? ;_; But really, of course we do. It is intermixed with all the other influences that come into the country. Take the chicken tikka masala, a cornerstone of British cooking. We also have the stereotypical culture, that still exists and I am sure Invi is proud of that. Instead of complaining about multiculturalism (which I do not think is the problem, lack of social mobility is probably more likely to blame) I think it is not a bad thing to have little pockets of "other" communities so long as both sides are tolerant of the other (something that seems lacking on both sides thanks to our petty tribalism and sensationalist media who would rather pin the ills of the country on immigration when the real problems are the lack of mobility and options for the poor in society who feel like they have no where to go). Anyway, hello... I'm off my soapbox now.

I think it's rather unfair to say that the media pin the country's problems on immigration.
