I know there's a lot of narrow-vision about cards in the meta. This card is good, this one is not. But what about those overlooked cards that have meta-game potential.

A good way to put it is the example of Solemn Judgment. When it came out, paying half your life points was a very high cost for the format. However, eventually it became a card so necessary in decks that pretty much every top deck ran it.

So I thought it would be a good idea to discuss the possibilities of cards that weren't initially considered meta-worthy

judgement of anubis it stops any magic or trap card that destroys cards on the field and then it destorys a monster and deducts it the attack points from their life points

you must discard a card the card they used must be a spell and it must be destroying a spell or traps on the field... therefore no way would this be meta. possible side deck at best because it could be used against mystical which is at 2.

though my thought on this would be that seven tools are getting pretty good considering the amount of great traps popping up such as solemn warning. with seven tools somebody could pay some crazy random cost to negate you in the hopes of dashing any chance of you winning then you simply throw out 100 points and guess what now you have the advantage because they wasted a card and pain its cost for nothing.

trunade is seeing more action as well.
Though I'd lol if someone made a dark simorgh deck. With all the straight up back field hate setting, it's the perfect card to ******** over the opponent, preventing them from setting cards, netting you an easily special summonable 2700 beat stick that can revive from the grave also very easily.

I've been bu,ping my thread all week hoping to get one of the regs to help me out.

But I've already made it mate <.<

Dark Simorgh could flawlessly slide into this deck at 2 without removing a thing.

My only problem is that I lack $60 to buy two copies of the beautiful bird.

How about Bait Doll, one of the most underrated spell cards in the entire game?

http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Bait_Doll

"I use Bait Doll for force you to activate your face-down. Its timing is incorrect? Its destroyed. Its a spell? Now I know what it is."

You'd think the card would be more popular in a format without Heavy Storm, that it recycles itself back into the deck after it resolves for what would be considered spell/trap forcing for +0, and the fact that its destruction abilities can't be negated by Stardust, Destruction Jammer, or My Body As A Shield.

Not in any meta deck that I've ever seen. Every competitive deck I've seen in my experience *stretching as far back as PSV* has never run Bait Doll. Ever. I'd even ask why too and people would be like "Well MST and Dust Tornado are better." ...and they'd run those. Never even gave Bait Doll a second glance.

Jetroid. There's pletnty of machine support and it can bypass Jinzo (I think) and ancient gears (I think).

jetroad cannot bypass jinzo. Jetroaids effect exspicitly states you have to activate them, which jinzo prevents.

same with ancient gears, they cannot be activated at all until the end of the damage step.

"Continuing from Plasma's post.
Even if it had seen meta action does that make it any worse? It's not like Mirror Force is suddenly invalid because it's too old of a staple card."

Road Warrior.

Whenever i get him out, i break even or go plus 1, while thinning my deck by 3-4 cards. then again, i'm using a Turbo style deck with him, so it's expected.
