So I went to a football game yesterday afternoon. Our school wasn't playing, but our 2 rivals were (I live on an island with only 3 high school football teams so every 3rd week our team has a by) so a lot of people from my school went to go watch.

Anyway, I'm a junior this year. I've been running track & field since freshman year. I throw discus and shot put and run the 1500. There's this guy on one of the football teams that played today who's a senior and he also throws discus and shot put. So I kind of know him from that, and I think he's seriously the cutest guy on this island. We've talked a few times, and he seems nice enough. And his parents and sisters are super nice.

I guess I really only know him from track, so that's about the only time we've talked. And a couple times on FB, but never a super long conversation. But when we found out that they were playing, my friend made it a point to go to the game and drag me along just so I could talk to him. Her boyfriend is on the same football team and their plan is to hook me up with this guy I have a crush on.

Anyway, they won the game and afterwards we went over near their locker room and waited until they came out. My friend was talking to her boyfriend and the other guy was standing right there and the whole idea was for me to talk to him. But you know, I was an idiot and said nothing. Which is weird cuz I'm like the most talkative, social, out-going person in the world. I flirt with guys I like all the time and I never have this problem. But I just couldn't talk to him. Soooo... What the hell did I do wrong? Why couldn't I say anything? Why am I such an idiot? How do I fix this?

TL;DR - I have a crush on a guy who lives over an hour away, and goes to a completely different school so I hardly get to see him. I talk to him on FB all the time but today I had the perfect chance to talk to him in real life after they won the football game and I blew it. He's seriously the only guy I've ever had problems talking to before. I flirt with guys I like like crazy. What did I do wrong with this one?
