gearing up for the next tin release. Figure that, out of everything I've tried in this guild, Flamvell is the most realistic and cost-effective. So, here it goes.
Build courtesy of Axean, as in he set up the base for me in my last Flamvell thread, with changes made by me to fit my liking and for the current meta.
Non-Tribute Monsters: 3 Flamvell Baby 3 Flamvell Paun 3 Flamvell Firedog 3 Flamvell Magician 2 Flamvell Archer 2 Battle Fader 1 Morphing Jar 1 Summoner Monk
Spells: 3 Rekindling 2 Book of Moon 2 Mystical Space Typhoon 1 Dark Hole 1 Mind Control 1 Monster Reborn 1 Giant Trunade
Traps: 2 Trap Stun 2 Dimensional Prison 2 Bottomless Trap Hole 2 Dark Bribe 1 Starlight Road 1 Hidden Book of Spell 1 Torrential Tribute
Extra Deck: 3 Stardust Dragon 3 Forumla Synchron (hopefully released with shooting star) 2 Shooting Star Dragon (released soon in tins) 2 Red Dragon Archfiend 2 Red Nova Dragon (see shooting star) 1 Ally of Justice Catastor 1 Blackrose Dragon (no real need to have it at more than one with dark hole legal) 1 Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier

axean looks good. but why just 2 rekindling? 3 too many or something? with Monster reborn I figured it wouldn't be needed. Less chance of a dead draw as well.

Aka_Saiyaku I'd: -1 Magician -1 HiddenBook -1 Foolish +2 Ryko +1 CotLB I always hated Lightswarn. The idea of possibly dumping cards I need has never struck me as a good thing. And book will stay. People have talked me down to 1 but Book will stay. There's nothing quite as satisfying as recycling Dark Hole and drawing it on your next turn after having the opponent cut your shuffle. (and even if you don't get that 1/40-ish chance draw, recycling rekindling is niiiiice)

Sadly, in this meta, Cold Wave also heavily limits what you can do. It's become a lot more situational and now serves as a one-turn "oh s**t" card. Trap Stun at 3 and a Starlight Road takes care of most real threats.
Magical Merchant...I'm wondering why I didn't include this before. This + Rekindling is amazing. A bit risky, though definitely not as much as the Lightsworn method.
I get the Morphing Jar though. Playing that little gem is a nice way to get synchros out in Flamvell.
I get the three Rekindling, it was dumb on my part not to include three.
Also, Archer is key in getting Red Nova out. Why I would leave that at one is beyond me. I suppose I can reduce it to two just to make room.
Battle Fader...I guess I can slap in two. This deck was lacking in the defense department.
As for Dark Bribe...I get that letting the Opponent draw a card can be bad...but negating spells at the right time is key is this meta.
Soo....
-2 Dimensional Alchemist +2 Battle Fader
-1 Foolish Burial (I suppose a single dump doesn't help me all that much in comparison) +1 Morphing Jar
-1 Flamvell Archer +1 Rekindling
Also that was only 38 cards in your build...

I suppose I can slap in Trunade though, maybe taking out a Trap Stun for it. -1 Trap Stun +1 Giant Trunade

3 Flamvell Firedog 3 Gravekeeper's Spy 2 Flamvell Magician 2 Flamvell Poun 1 Flamvell Archer 1 Flamvell Baby 1 Gravekeeper's Descendant 1 Caius the Shadow Monarch 1 Gorz the Emissary of Darkness 1 Magical Merchant 1 Summoner Monk
3 Pot of Duality 2 Mystical Space Typhoon 2 Book of Moon 2 Rekindling 1 Allure of Darkness 1 Pot of Avarice 1 Monster Reborn 1 Mind Control 1 Giant Trunade 1 Cold Wave 1 Dark Hole
2 Bottomless Trap Hole 2 Trap Stun 1 Torrential Tribute 1 Mirror Force 1 Solemn Judgment
2 Stardust Dragon 2 Colossal Fighter 1 Shooting Star Dragon 1 Red Nova Dragon 1 Red Dragon Archfiend 1 Scrap Dragon 1 Black Rose Dragon 1 Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Boundary 1 Goyo Guardian 1 Ally of Justice Catastor 1 Armory Arm 1 Formula Synchron
Couple of notes heart - Yes, I did put in 3 Pot of Duality. Yes, I did consider your budget for the deck. I simply put it there as my idea on the deck to be its most proficient. - Straight-Flamvell won't get you far, as they don't have the speed as a solid archetype deck. Gravekeeper's are a preferred way to gain the field and provide more consistent Level 8 Synchro for you without having to dig into Lightsworn support. - Your idea on Cold Wave is understandable, but flawed, as Trap Stun doesn't amount anything to Cold Wave. Play it, know when to play it, and you will like it. - While this deck can go towards Shooting Star Dragon in a fairly simple manner, being able to loop Colossal Fighter and Armory Arm for the win is equally as advantageous. I've left the Extra Deck at 14 for your preference, you should mostly consider a second Armory Arm or Formula Synchron. - 3 Rekindling IS inconsistent, and often clogging. And, when left to the Gravekeeper's, is less needed.
