The year is 3150, one hundred years after what has come to be known as "The Reckoning", humanity's final stand...
In the year 3020, strange beasts began to appear off the coast of Florida. Their bodies washed up on shore, mangled and disfigured, baffling scientists and planting the seeds of hysteria in the population of the planet. Two years later, sitings of tall muscular beasts haunting what was left of the deep European forests began to increase. A global hunt was called, to force these beasts out of the shadows, eventually leading to the end of humanity's rule.
A few survivors remain, most mutilated buy alien weaponry. They remain in small close-knit groups, nomadic in nature. Only a few have fully adapted to the new climate, most rely on make-shift survival equipment ranging from respirators to archaic robotics. This is the story of their quest to survive in a world that is no longer their's.

Crunch.
the stock of Asa's rifle was now spattered in blood. she lifted the small, mangled corpse by its crooked tail, the legs still twitching as the creature died. she hated rats, but food was scarce in the crumbling remains, she ate what she could. she slit the rat from jaw to tail, gutting it quickly and letting it bled out before wrapping it in a small bit of canvas.
her shot gun lay on the ground beside her, she looked at it, then the bloody canvas, she didnt have enough hands. she frowned, her brows furrowing as much as they could and tore a small strip of cloth off of her pant leg. she used it to tie the rat to her belt.
satisfied that the rat was secure, she picked up her shot gun and rested it on her shoulder, looking to the sky. she saw something move in a window a fair way off, her heart began to pound, if it was a beast, there would be more close by. as quietly as she could she scaled a mound of twisted metal, settling down on her stomach, so as not to be seen, and looked through the scope on her rifle.
it was a boy, he was looked frightened, she had a feeling she knew why. she scanned the other windows of the building, flashes of movement confirmed her suspicion. she looked upon the building with unaided eyes, it looked institutional, lots of rooms, fairly plain exterior. it would be hard to navigate, the possibility of finding the boy before they did was very slim. she touched her collar bone where her gruesome scar ended, and remembered that day. rage began to boil inside, overriding her common sense. she was going in.

Tiko stumbled out, tripping over broken pieces of crap. Dragging her scythe behind her, making trails through the piles of rubbish, and buildings. What did they matter to her now they were gone, to think that over a short period, that almost all the Human race was gone.
Tiko's head was full of thoughts, some she spoke aloud,"I barely human now, with a metal limb" lying her metal hand, that had been fined down until she suited it , into the palm of her other hand. Her memories of the sunny towns and lit up cities, were just now memories, fading into the black hole that was her mind.
Crouched, the bottom of Tiko's scythe dug into the floor made of rubbish, as a tear trickled down her cheek. am I all alone? what it the point in living, why did i survive? questions burst out, tiko shouting these questions at the top of her voice, hoping someone would hear her plea, for help. And that she wasn't alone in the world.

Tychus looked for something, anything to fight that thing off. He found a broom, rushing to it he unscrewed the broom handle and held it in a spear-like fashion. An ear shattering scream echoed, and the beast lay waste to the door, sending it smashing through desks and out the window beside Tychus. He had no choice, he ran at it, aiming at the horrid sight, hoping to pierce its chest. They collided, and they were sent out the second story window. Tychus was awoken by the sickly gurgle of the dieing humanoid, he had landed on it, and it saved him. Slowly getting up in fear of it attacking a last time he stumbled away, cuts on his arms and chest bled lightly as he tried fighting to stay awake.

Tiko jumped, as something came at her, Her mind went blank as she cautiously turned around, standing up and pulling her scythe out of the ground. Her heart began to beat at it's original pace, as she saw the brick, that had been chucked at her. Smudging the tears away, she said calmly, as if nothing had happened, Hello? she questioned herself, if it was actually a human, or a monster. At the ready, she positioned herself to fight.
