So I'm sure that this belongs in the General Discussion forum, but at the same time it is weight-loss related.
As you all know, we are each heavily influenced by our journey: it's what has brought us together, and it has (or will) change our lives in a big way as far as the choices we make go. But we also know that we are not solely our journey, or the number, or the goal. We are people, and while striving for health is a big part of who we are now, it's not the only part. So I propose to bring this guild a little closer. I've made some good friends here, and learned a lot about people past what they want to look like and how they're getting there.

So share a few things about you (one-liners, if you will) that will help us get to know you a bit better!
I know this is a bit reminiscent of elementary school exercises but I really think it will help! No matter how long you've been here, you might find a new friend. (:

So for me...

I ride horses and own two of them, I love it and that's how I want to spend my life.
I'm funding this dream with law school, and I study a lot. >_<
I'm also a gamer (PS3!)

I'm a recent nursing school grad currently looking for a job. My husband and I recently moved back to Dallas, Texas and we'll soon be adopting a friend of mine. whee

*I am turning 20 on June 12th.
*I love to play and watch tennis. If I could kidnap Rafael Nadal I would.
*I'm a Biology major at a liberal arts college.
*I have two cats; Butterscotch and Pixie.

That's all for now :3

@Munkers; adopting a friend of yours? same age or? o:

@Roslin; aww, I love cats! I'm allergic though >o< I didn't know you liked tennis, I enjoy watching it, it's really intense! I don't have the agility for it though.

I'll be 23 this year, I have a serious case of procrastinatitis, wedding strain, which just means that despite being engaged for three years, I've not taken a single step towards planning my wedding.

I think I'm the guild's only Canadian, (but I might be wrong, there might be a lurky Canadian here) and I'm currently studying in University getting my Major in Geography (urban management stream) and my minor in Sociology. Those courses are pretty much designed to conflict time wise which is a pain in my a**.

I'm kind of the worst vegetarian/vegan person out there, not because I sneak meat all the time but because I flip flop between veganism and vegetarianism with a regularity that confuses and irritates everyone around me...

I am a master mint grower, and am expanding into rosemary and tomatoes currently... the last time I tried rosemary I ate it all and it died.

It seems like a lot of members here are in school/studying like crazy, which is supportive because academic stress can take a real toll on one's health if one lets it, so it's nice to talk to others in the same boat.

Hmmm...
- I recently graduated from college with a geology major and math and physics minors, and will be going to grad school for a PhD in earthquake forecasting (if the research topic doesn't change during those five years...)

- I love music, particularly strange instruments. I play the piano, flute and violin, which are fairly normal, and the theremin, which is uncommon. You play it without touching it and it sounds like a cross between a stringed instrument and a voice.

- I also compose lots of music for fun. Up until now it's been strictly classical (orchestra and small ensemble), but eventually I plan on starting a darkwave/electro project once there's time to set up everything!

That's totally what I did! It was a liberal arts college, but the university had like a 97% acceptance rate for students who applied to med school.

She's a bit younger than me, but basically the same age. There's some not so nice stuff going on in her life and she needed a roof over her head. So she'll be staying under ours. heart

The only thing that finally got my butt in gear for wedding planning was actually booking the chapel and reception site and giving us a concrete date.

That sounds really neat!

@Stars: Yep, I played tennis for all four years of high school, three of them on varsity. Took lessons and clinics in the summer and winter and was seeded the 3rd best mixed doubles team in my county my senior year of high school. Sadly I have been unable to continue playing in college, simply because the Bio major doesn't like giving you time to really attend practice from 4pm to 6pm when you're taking at least 2 labs per semester that run from 1:20 to 4:20 and sometimes later. Not to mention the vast amount of studying. I go to a small school, not a division 1 by any means so tennis wasn't a necessity. I do play with some of my high school friends from time to time.

I'm pretty into pro tennis. I used to run a thread in the sports forum but I haven't had the time to be dedicated to it. I was fortunate enough to attend the US Open last year.

I love tennis but no one will play with me. ._. All my friends like badminton. : P Actually its hard enough getting someone to go to the gym with me.

I have a road bike and I like to take long rides down the highway.

Not usually. At least around here. xD

I'm a nurse and have been for 3 years. I work at a big cancer hospital and the university medical center.

I'm a writer and gamer (zOMG and the Wii).

In a few months my new boyfriend will be moving in with me! So I will be an Xbox gamer when he brings his. xD

I love bunnies. I own every bunny item on Gaia that I know of. xD

i'm 18, i just graduated high school & i'm taking a year off school & going to community college next year.
i'm pretty big on animal rights, human rights, & the environment.
i love to cook, & i used to write all the time... i've started again since becoming single, so that's one good thing.
i want to one day become a nutritionist, or a dietician, & also be a trainer at some sort of childhood wellness program. childhood obesity makes me so sad, & i just want to teach kids & their parents how to get active & make smart food choices & actually eat FOOD food, not processed garbage.
